we got 5 people playing today we searched for ages to find a good spot for totem as practise but seemed like every good area was unavailable, so hopefully we get a good spot tommorow.
any tips for which areas to place totem? so far I heard these are the essentials to have nearby:
anything else? dont want to pick a bad spot ;) |

why dont people come back? well it migth have changed alot in 5 years but combat is still: 1. click on target to attack 2. watch it autoattack, click on food when hp low 3.???? 4. profit Talk about DULL. WoW combat is dull but at least it has abilties to use. |

Yeah, I thought it was vapourware once. now I reckon darkfall is the best mmo I ever played ;) |

WSI its true killing new players is pointless but you still ignore the simple overriding fact that anyone who wants to quit because they got killed is not cut out for the game no matter how you phrase it, whether is l2p carebear or as nicely as humanly possible its the same fact.
edit: actually no its not pointless, see my above post its fun to be ganked as noob up to an extent. if the world is not dangerous the game gets boring. |

2 hour old character, 20 pole arm and bow = lots of dead players in human lands

tbh u cant kill anyone with 2h hour old char u dont have enuf stamina to swing more than 5 times. maybe once you get LM 60 and mana to stamina you can be semi useful but that takes more than 2 hours. |

If you were like that to me after I RESED you. I would probably have spawn camped you, or at least come back and taken your crap. Darkfall needs more players but not ones who can't take being ganked. If people are too easy on new players then those new players are simply not cut out for the game and will only quit later on. Point is ganking is part of the game, if you can't handle it then its good that PK's are making you quit now rather than later. Besides I LIKED being ganked as a noob, the danger made it the game exciting and fun. If you don't feel that way about pkers don't play. |

You make valid points, but some changes might be good. such as new UI might mean much better performance in sieges as people have noticed the current UI is not only user unfriendly but seems to take a massive toll on FPS. Plus DF's biggest problem is population. So all that fluff your complaining about plus the lessened grind will hopefully bring alot of new players and fix the population. and even with Df's flawed class system, and lack of sand, if the population becomes good it will be awesome fun to play (PVP!). besides its still better than tank/dps/healer classsystem or quest grind every other mmo has, so quit complaining. |

I agree OP, alot of people try to deny it because they dont want the game to die but the population is awful (better on US1 I hear). closer to release there was no way you could cross the map without being killed. which used to anoy me as a new player (I died several times trying to get to dwarf lands the first time), now I miss it sooooo much. the game is boring without bumping into people. its stupid how much people whine about other things when population is easily darkfalls biggest problem. the game world was designed for many many more players. they need to shrink the map, or make proper hotspots where pvpers can always find action. Devils used to be a great hotspot before they were nerfed, now all there is only seatowers every few days. AV also tried to create hotspots and pvp with trade routes, which worked first few weeks when they were new but after completely FAILED, because people realised the rewards/idea/system was crap and stopped bothering completely. Hopefully when AV vaguely talk about "streamlining/optimising" the map for thier next expansion it is with this goal in mind. Also hopefully the planned changes such as reduced grind and better UI and models/animations brings much more players. Because trust me darkfall is 10x more fun with decent population, and can't run much longer without it. |

best pollitics of any game. sure they might not be that meaningful, but the wars are pretty passionate. alot of rivalry between clans and on going hatred and propaganda ;D I haven't played df in a while but I still check up the politics every now and again, still hate certain clans with a passion. main thing which makes it better than any other game(except maybe eve) is there is only 1 server so you've familiar with almost every clan in the game. plus the territory control means clans compete for citys, meaning resources, good bind spots and mostly bragging rights. check out the pollitical maps http://darkfallinfo.com/pmap/index.php?mapserver=eu1 or =us1 |

although there are many, grind and population are DF's biggest problems. xipher's talking garbage, although I'm curious what he thinks the underline problems are without giving me a wall of text :P |

have fun getting someone to cast those spells on you every 30 seconds. the self buffs have less effect but last about 10 times longer. theres lots of solo pvp to be had, or used to be. maybe you just dont go out solo but hide in your city walls, even defending and raiding cities I used to do on my own half the time.
anyway its a pointless arguement. destroyer can be ok if you in a group and you have 0 magic skills anyway or have a full set of infernal. the rest of the time its utter crap imo, but I am abit of a lone wolf. hopefully the prestige classes are decent. never in darkfall has anything been nearly as pvp viable as hybrid of everything. |

we've had a ground hack like that used against us to steal devil loot of us once, probably the only time I witnessed blatent hacking in darkfall. |
