No macroing really is useless in darkfall now, its great. it used to be required to play the game, now there is next to no viable use of macros. maybe you can bot for resources, but thats the same in any game. The new character development system is a joy to play, but game still has a LONG way to go. |

I agree OP, the term mmo has become a dirty word, a negative way to describe a game. mmo to 95% of the world literally means "like-WoW". if you suggest to these people that an mmo could be twitch, have no npcs or not have level/gear grind they will say "thats not an mmo". dean hall said in a interview a while back that mmo is a naughty word. |

Well I really like the sound of your game design. I will definitely be giving it a go and bring some friends if I don't forget about it by the time it comes out. I don't own a tablet myself, but I can see why you went that route even if its not one I personally would prefer. and the graphics look well done for what they are for. I think no levels could definitely work but it puts more pressure on other parts of the game like crafting/ecconomy/combat to be engaging. but I see you have played haven and hearth, so if you have a crafting/building/industry system as deep as them I think you can nail it. my only real question is what is the combat like? I hope its at least real time, like I swing in a direction and can hit or miss. |

its not like he single handedly created all those games. I don't buy into this view most people have that people in charge of development are responsible for everything good about a game. its analogous to the oscars only having one catagory. |

perma death works well in a game that is designed around the idea. to the point where the game simply wouldn't work without it. salem and its predessor haven & haven will always be permadeath, don't you worry. |

you need certain skills to commit certain criminal acts, murder skill (called cain & abel) has a high cost. criminal acts leave behind scents which can be used to track and potentially summon the culprit to be killed even when offline. you'll pick it up, just be wary of other players. if you really want to survive trust no one and flee from every other human outside of town!

the beta just wiped again and is still very rough. darkfall is my favourite game but even I am not enjoying this beta test. stay away until they fix/add more stuff seriously.

they are currently patching the beta everyday atm, and tasos is posting replies to feedback and questions on the forums. they are really perking up as a comany in my eyes atm. they are terrible at meeting etas but to be fair so are valve and alot of loved developers who actually have unlimited resources unlike AV. |

its not just for gameplay balance, but it also means much less developer time rigging armour models to different skeletons. which means they can make more armours. also means fewer models and animations to load, which will increase performance. its definitely for the best. Though I do agree the new mahirim model does look quite fugly, the new concept art for it was great but badly recreated ingame. |

They have actually stated at least twice that races in unholywars are purely visual only. there will be no racial abilities this time, or different sized hitboxes.
