If so, the Warhammer herald should have something like that up soon. BUt to my knowledge it isnt up and running yet

It is quite peculiar. Blizzard as a company wasnt all that gigantic mofo when they released WoW. They had a decent size yes, and some popular titles shipped. But they didnt have more rescourses then many of the companys who releases mmo`s theese years. They must have done something right since wow have appealed to so many ppl. I am really puzled that none of the new titles have been able to put ujp some competetions: the devs could look at Blizzard and se the recipe, then take advantges of better soft/hardware both at the dev end and buyers, with much faster comps - and create something similar, but bigger, better graphic and more advanced gameplay.

Aion might nail Wow in terms of graphics, and its a wonder that it first happens now ( AOC might be better looking on high ress screenshots - but that dosnt count), but if it still have same fun factor, wow has, will time tell.

One thing is pretty certain though. If Wow gets serious competetion, i bet it only will last untill Blizzard releases their next gen Mmo. Imagine when they pull 75% of the wow developers over to the new mmo division and give them updated moddels, physiqs, mappings and lightnings to play with. If they follow the same pattern from Diablo3 and Starcraft 2, we are gonna se exactly same gamestyle, but better, prettyer, bigger and with tons of new funny mechanics added. My guess is allso Starcraft online,  were "mounts" like small space crafts, mechs and other vehicles will play a big role.

Imo War is not a game where size really seems to matter that much. Its not something you pay alot attention, its more the inhabitans, the hotspots with battles and scenarios you are looking for. The game is made seemless in same way WOW is, ie, there isnt any loading screens when you change zones, but you can defenately feel that something is loading. A small 2-3 sec lag or suchs, every time you cross borders.

War is one of the games where the content is so much more important then the package it comes in. Its not particular pretty - but graphic is functionel, which is all there matter as long the fun factor is high. In same way, the areas isnt gigantic like Barrens but still big enough that quests and mobs isnt packed to close. There might be huge areas later on though. Dont know how many chapters the game have.

Quite the oposite actually.. most players i see going for the dest side are new players joinning the zerg. Players who want a chalenge and excel towards perfection go order since its much harder and valable to win playing order than playing dest where everyone wins easly or almost.


 

I think you`re right here. If Destruction had been outnumbered i think the older -experienced Mmo players have been rolling that faction. There is something " Fotm" about Destruction atm.

I play Bright Wiz on Order. So far a awesome class - but it really feels like i rolled the fotm. There is aLOT of BW`s. Sometimes i think ppl rolled BW`s for same reason that i did: was so tired of playing a Mage in WOW, beeing nothing but a second rank magician who summons water and food and do crappy dps.

I havent really find any melee class on Order i really like. Maruaders ( i have a rank 8 alt) seems incredible fun on the other hand. Destro`s tanks and melee classes just seems to fit the role better -both visually and mastery wise. The scenario win/loose is something like 7-8 wins for each 10 looses. But honestly it seems like the typical reason why u loose is because the team is beeing out lvl`ed. In R vs R its another thing though. Order simply cant muster the numbers to launch a decent offense or defense. Destruction  dominates.

Have been playing for 4 days or so. I must admit im still not sure what advantges the winning teams are getting. Do they open up better vendors and suchs?

Alot off ppl have misstyped registration. I did it myself, there is some figures which looks very mch alike, G and 6 for example. The thing is, u dont get a "Wrong Registration" warning after you executed it. It looks like everything is a-ok, but u cant start the patcher. Then  when you open your email u suddenly find a mail, telling you that u need to re-register.

So -tldr, check mail...

If that didnt do it then check  :\Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning\logs and open the debug log. Copy paste it and mail it to Mythic...

I dont find WAR particular revoloutinary. Alot content have been seen before. Thats fine by my. I kinda bought the game because i like the concept.

PQ is just a way to make party gameplay more available. When i run around and quest i often come by a large group of ppl standing there. I stop and se whats up, and suddenly im dragged into a fight against some big boss or a invasion of elite mobs. I join the fight for a few mins and get a loot pack in the end. Then i go on with my questing.

I hope they are going to make a MMO using the same Cellshader as Prince of Persia 4 use. I have never played Prince of Persia, have no idea if the game is any good; but i really love the new shaders.

It looks abit like oilpaintings. Which would be absolutely perfect in a game where the art is inspired of Frank Frazzetta or someone similar ( typical fantasy artists).

Im not gonna choose between Wotlk and War. Im gonna have both installed and play what im in the mood to. Both games have qualitys.

A thing i really like about War is that its extreemely easy to go in, and right away jump to a pvp scenario, or stumble into a public quest which is full of ppl. WoW has better overall feel imo; i like the enverioments, ambience and player models. War seems very addictive all the time, its very hard to let go. WoW might take abit more time, but you can build up a very high suspense there as well. But atm War just graps me harder. This is because War is all new - mainly. But "new" dosnt cut it alone; AOC was all new and still felt like a struggle to play, it lagged carrots - compared to all the things you wanna achieve and try in WAR, AOC didnt felt like a RPG game at all. Even though WAR is published as a PVP and RvsR game i still se it as classic RPG - developing your class and make him stronger. RvsR is just a new flavor in that recipe.

But year, i think War are gonna be number two -  and sub in the 1mill+.  I dont think Wotlk will stop growing though. I dont think the MMO market have peaked with ~20mill subs or so; when the genre starts evolving again i think some big titles could end up in the 50 mill subs into the next decade.

..well my opinion on the grind issue is kinda like, i play untill the game`s not funny anymore. So far im pretty certain ill take my Bright wiz to 40, he got some kind of BFG ( Burning head - does like 1k to main target and 6-700 to everybody else, as base dam - lvl 14)spell as Incinerate masterys peak, im desperately wanna test:p

Then i guess im gonna take part of the R vs R thingie and lvl up in pvp. I actually did very little research about War - the whole AOC incident made me lost interest in hype for a while, but cant you take down Citys and occupie big land areas? If that starts to get booring im pretty sure im gonna lvl up a Chaos Marauder; tryed one to lvl 6 and he seems to be loads fun. And if the game starts getting booring after that, im simply gonna uninstall it, look for another game ( Lich King, Aion) and thx the developers of WAR for a good time and a  couple of months of fine intertainment.

Its Ugly. I hate the design. Bad animation and the engine seems 4-5 years old, and outdated...

But man! This game is fun.

Tbh im actually not sure i wanna go back to Lich King with its flatten out classes ( everybody and their mother gonna do competetive dps - seems like they repeating the major Diablo 2 -patch 1.10 disaster again...) and broken casterclasses...War is just...very addictive..

Mages does huge dps, but when u have one of those mutant thingies on u, u are waaaay to porcelaine fragile. Its very hard to win a 1 vs 1 as a Mage vs a good melee class imo. And  if i really want to do high dps, i start blowing myself up.

I think Blizzard could learn aLOT about balancing from this game.

My first impressions ( lvl 8) is allso pretty nice. Graphic and animation is not impressive, but its not that important when you start playing with other players and the public tests chapters unfolds. We where 5 ( i think) Bright Wizards ( seems very popular) and a Lion warrior thingie and a healer, doing a public quest with some bosses at the end. Was defenately a fun experience standing in a Wizard crowd which constantly blows up ( Bright Wizards "overloads"  - the more they cast, the more dmg and higher critchance they have, but at the same time they start blowing up frequently, harming themself:p). 

Graphic does disapoint me abit. I dont understand why a mmo in 2008 dosnt look better then this. Scrolling far out helps abit, getting the polygons and textures on a distance, it seems to blend abit better. On the other hand; Age of Conans highly praised graphic didnt impress me the slightes either. But maybe that was more a design then a tech thing.

The Major thing which favor this game vs Age of Conan, is that it actually have "carrots". At least in the beginning ( i hope it continues) there is this urge for doing more, "just one more level" so that new skill unlocks. I bet it will be even more addictive after 11.

So far a nice beginning. Im Optimistic.

So i cant login. It simply says my password/account name dosnt validate. However, using the same pass/acc i managed to registrate my key.

I need somewhere where i can log in to my account, so i can check if i made a error in my pass ( grammar or caps or something) even though i dont believe thats the case. But...anyone else have trouble with this? Its on EU btw.

Btw: i can`t login on  http://www.war-europe.com/   either. It looks like there should be a option in upper left side, but it is all greyed out for me and i cant type anything anywhere....

Suggestions needed. Thx:)
