Champions Online: Daeke Out, Stormshade In
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/04/10 1:31:42 PM
Pitchforks and torches are still waving high over at CO, the loss of Daeke hasnt fueled or calmed any of those fires. Cryptic may be getting new legions of easily trusting pawns through Trekkie fans but eventually anyone that has some gamer pride will see how evil Cryptic has become. Their name atleast to many of us is complete utter 'mud' (would like to use another word). Cryptic's only chance of survive is not to over shaft / nickle & dime STO gamers. I mean we were promised all sorts of content and excitement for champions too and all we got was some lame additions and lots of missing content .. now you can pay extra for that missing content? They wont be winning back many CO subs by charging for missing content. |

Misleading information is hardly a real news article. You should atleast address the fact its not actual accounts but registered Forum Accounts. You don't even need to own STO or have been part of the beta to have a Registered Forum account with Cryptic. You simply regurtitated bad information without even looking into the entire matter. I'm starting to wonder if any research is done at all before these news articles are brought up. |

The article should be changed to 999,999 because my registered forum account should not count. I haven't played since closed beta in December and I've not played champions since the start of the new year since the moment STO went open beta the Servers went to hell and back.

Sorry a game that only supports up to 10 vs 10 in this day and age is just retarded especially considering what we know games are capable of. [Mod edit] |

No offense to those that are in that small percentage of areas that are dial up only but...Most MMOs' dont even support dial up at all so if you have something slower than cable or dsl.......you wouldn't enjoy MMOs on that crap connection anyway. I can understand the frustration over the lack of boxes in some cases but honestly...Gamestop Sucks ass, EA store is terrible, and Best Buy is ...decent for console games. PC games are going the way of downloads only which in the end will likely be better for PC games in the end. Unless your downloading a crap ton of illegal software, movies, and music downloading a game or two a month doesn't hurt anyone with a download cap. Global Agenda is being made by a small indepedant company thats not sold its soul out to a publisher like EA or Activision. Everyone wants something independant but cries when they learn it means there's less options for purchasing. You know it takes alot of MONEY to produce all those packaged products that sit on the shelves adn independants without publishers can't afford that and still be able to survive. |

if you pay for the subscription model you get access to the Conquest feature which allows up to 6 teams of 10 people each to attempt to conquer / go after enemy alliances. So its looking like the largest maps are 60 vs 60. As for the co op and other multiplayer "free" maps it doesn't state team sizes but if 1 team is 10 people in conquest I guess that makes the free maps 10 vs 10.
Try looking under the game's official website FAQ page..took me all of 2 mins to find out the conquest feature. Doesn't seem to be much more detail than that though. |

I think its BS that people expect things to progress but for technology back to the stone ages to be supported. Its actually far more challenging if not taxing and a waste of money to make games accept every single possible configuration. Sure some games could offer the way to turn it off but honestly some games are just frigging TErrible graphically to not have the shaders turned on not to mention they can turn it off but your computer may explode anyway since its actually far more taxing on your system to turn shaders off for SOME things. Shader language 2.0 has been around for years..I mean frigging Years..it was new when I was still in college over 5 years ago. Get a new video card or atleast something "newer" you dont have to have the newest of the new for shader 2.0. Your computer sux and you blame the game industry. Thats really frigging hilarious considering Games are not the only things that use shaders, support shaders, and drive the technological industry. Its just the one with the most eyes on it at all times. If you want to be a PC gamer accept that technology changes and sometimes you have to update. You dont have to spend alot of money to stay up to date. You only have to spend alot of money to stay at the bleeding edge which is best left for the hardcores and those with cash and nothing better to do. Actually if you want to be a gamer period you have to accept that. Console are just as bad as they eventually stop supporting old games completely. |

Ruined by Fear of Death and this is for real...
General Discussion « Allods Online 1/31/10 1:43:12 PM
The US server is a head of the gpotato EU server. BTW I just flung myself off the allod without praying to my god and at lvl 18 the debuff lasts exactly 45 SECONDS. So you op have no clue what your talking about. So assuming that at lvl 18 if I die 4 times in a row the debuff without perfume will last up to at most 4 mins which for a death penalty is not that bad and its also teaching you a lesson to not just throw yourself at death and to pray to your god. Hell I have 18 of those perfumes out of the 20 that I received 3 levels ago. In PVP it'll give me something more to think about for sure and since the patch states they will have them in game and we know they're on the store..its kinda obvious..THis is a FREE TO PLAY GAME. Cash Shop games always have an angle to get you to pay. Right now they have Backpacks and Perfume and Water of Life/Death boo hoo..thats relatively small compared to some games. 45 Mins is a Lie unless your a terrible player and you like alot of punishment. If you get the Effect wait until it wears off to avoid the stacking.
For the first time in my life I'm going to say this....Learn 2 Play. |

I'm also not harrassing since I've seen the patch notes, played it and im level 18 with in perfect range for this horrorific effect to take place and its absolutely not as you advertise it hence you are lying or just have no idea and are speculating which is utterly ridiculous. Unless you've experienced and have visual proof it lasts 45 mins and the Perfume is expensive I suggest you take your words and eat them. I've got perfume that I got for free and some I bought cheep and I've also died a couple of times at lvl 18 and its never hurt me. And yes the Effect is already LIVE on the US servers as of Patch 5 that just happened a few days ago.
Now if you die 4 times in a row and its STACK lasts up to 45 mins perhaps you should rethink your strategy on playing by yourself and find a group this is a group game. |

But the FoD patch is still slated to be in the game on wed. This again is not true. The items for chat are for World Spamming as in Yelling across the world not just the zone. Its to allow people to call out to a large area but not abuse it for selling Gold, items etc. The way the game chat works now is how it'll work live too otherwise they'd be giving them out for free to test chat like they did Water of Life / Death. |

You get a quest at lvl 15 that gets you around 10 - 20 perfumes for free and nothing costs that much off the Vendor I've seen the prices myself. The effect does not last 45 mins and unless your a really incompentent player your not going to die that often for it to stack. Hell the god I pray to automaticlaly removes the effect when I rezz so I'm never affected by it, it does the same for my friend and she has a different god. |

The OP is lying.
As for the pvp issue they do need a way to keep the lvl 40s from camp ganking the lvl 20s but ...I agree the flagging was the cheap way out and not a real solution...lets hope the outcry eventually reaches their ears and they go to more of a lvl base manuever were lvl 40s get no pvp kill credit for killing people far below their level. PvP should be about challenge not ganking for points. |

It doesn't last for 45 mins..and there's several in game ways to make its effect which scales I believe by level even less or not appear at all. Its called Praying to your God using perfume. Hell my god pretty much vanishes the effect almost immediately. This is a direct quote from the patch notes. Boo Hoo there's a Small lil Death Penalty you can remove using perfume which can be bought at the servants of light. Damn for realz? Guess you should think before you act so you don't die over and over and over. This game isn't some instant happy lalllalala I can die all I want WoW game. It has some consequence but hell its easy as hell to get rid of it. Changed the death mechanics. Increased the time spent in Purgatory for characters above level 15. The time spent in Purgatory does not increase when a character dies multiple times. After leaving Purgatory a character will receive the “Fear of Death” effect. This effect lowers a character’s offensive stats by 25%. Each time a character dies, they will receive another Fear of Death effect that can stack up to 4 times. The effect duration changes based on the character’s level. In order to remove this effect, a player needs to talk to a Servant of the Light and get their blessing. The effect can also be removed using perfume |

Only way Star Trek is better is if the world suddenly caved in on its self from the number of times that the crews seem to mess with the time line in order to try and stay interesting. |

HellGate didn't fully die and disappear from the MMO market it just disappeared from the US/EU market its being doing just fine in Asian markets though. Tabula Rasa on the other hand is gone completely..and good riddence..the original game they were building sounded awsome..what we got was ... predicable EQ1 style mob camping boringness with some guns involved. |

Allods Online: Closed Beta Key Giveaway (Phase 4)

Originally posted by Ozmodan Its a PVE game with mid - end game pvp/pve mixed together and the item shop doesn't give armor, weapons or stat potions or any sort of battle advantage. Your argument is flawed especially since its obvious you've never tried the game and never previewed the cash shop which is available in game to look at. Its all pretty cosmetic stuff they're selling though some of it is pretty desirable. btw its pretty hard to over hype a game thats free. Bad Over Hype anger thoughts are better for games where you lose out on 50 dollars and a few months subscrption fees on a game thats terrible. F2P games are pretty much "this sucks delete" if you dont like it. |

Can people that pay co exist with people that don't ?
General Discussion « Allods Online 1/25/10 3:28:25 PM
The cash shop which you can look at in game does not have any armor or weapons available or advantageous stat potions. It does how ever sell money (can easily get in game), backpacks (you can get in game through really hard grinding), costumes, respec potions (which youc an get in game just really hard grinding), and it sells potions that might up your chances at a successful crafting session. Personally if you fail at crafting then your just horribly ineffecient at the mini game. Some of the best gear in game comes from Reputation gear which you start earning right at level 1. (this of course does not count the end game gear since I've not gotten to thsoe areas yet). You'll earn rep gear from various factions in every area of the game it seems you'll gain new gear this way every 5 levels or so. There's also atleast 1 - 2 raid mobs in every zones including the noobie zone. The mob doesnt' drop anything but the quest to kill that mob gives you some really nice green or blue choices. Really the only way someone might get an advantage over you is the gold buying feature if the price is cheap enough. Now after luanch if they pull a Runes of Magic then it might get kinda ugly since RoM started out ok but then the company got Uber Greedy with the shop and made it impossible to play without the shop. |

Next time you don't want people to make fun of you just mention your not from the states, then again if your so damn fancy pants smart and know several languages you could atleast try to appear smart enough to speak them well. |
