To my friend to the north, Mr. Canada...I do belive that your country is bi-lingual, eh hoser?  Anyhow-lets see----the last time I checked, America was NOT the ONLY English speaking country "out there...on planet Earth".  Funny, I think England speaks, umm, ENGLISH?  Britain? Parts of Ireland? Ohh, possibly Australia? New Zealand? or maybe even CANADA? (GASP!). 

Keep your American hatred out of the MMO world and lets stay on topic.  To address the guy that wrote the post you commented on, he has a valid point.  If you are going to conduct any business in a country, it is best to have people employed that speak the language of the country you are doing business in.  To the point, if I only spoke gibberish, and I wanted to do business in a place that 99% of the population spoke a language OTHER that gibberish, I think good business sense would say ----EMPLOY some who spoke GIBBERISH.

But, since Funcom is turning into Failcom, it wont really matter in a few months anyhow.

The funniest thing about this post is people went off on his spelling of the classes that are able to be played and not one person has mentioned that this guy cant even spell character!  THERE IS NO "I" in the word!

Step away from the computer and take a grammar/English refresher course.  You maybe level 30 something in a game, but your writing skills are that of a First grader, (sorry to insult first graders!)

you can play this game for free.  There is one very popular way to gain in game currency and get a ton of great skills, however it is a longer process than paying real money and starting out with a weapon and some armor.

SWEATING animals is free-in a few hours you can make 5-7 PED (in game cash).  The low end armor is often offered in exchange for sweat-as are some of the starter guns.

This is a game that takes time.  All of the people that say you have to put money in are generally the same people that expect to be the "uber l33t" in a week.

The more you play, the better your skills get, the easier it is to do anything and everything in this game.

Is depositing $20US a good idea?  Sure-it helps out a great deal in the early part of the game so you get an easier transition into some of the more advanced parts of the game.  But in about 10 days of sweating, (and learning what the hell is going on in the game), you can make that $20 US in sweat.  So, if you are an impatient player that needs everything right now or you need some quest giver to hold your hand and tell you where you need to go and what you need to do, then this game is not for you.

Remember that the client is free and at no time do they ask you for any money-ever.  My suggestion to you is to try the game, give it a few days, not a few minutes, and ask questions in game.  There are always a great many people that will help answer you questions, give advice or let you tag along to get some experience and learn the game.

its about the time you can log on it lags becose your internet suck it only disconects you if thares a new patches and your internet sucks thare are no bots only turks you cant hack that game turks are the only problems thare graohics may suck but you dont have to play it if you dont like it to log on into server you need correct timing PVP you dont have to do it

So let me get this straight; if I flame the game under a title of "why the hate", I am being childish.  The question lends itself to people speaking badly about the game or you would have titled your post differently.  So, until then, Ill hold my tongue, not wanting to be labeled a childish flamer. (sarcasm off)

For anyone who actually cares about this game anymore, IMO, its boring.  It has reached its prime and is on the slow decline until another more appealing game comes on the market.  It is no big surprise that after the time it has had on the market, people want something new.  It isnt that WoW is a bad game, it is just that it is played out.  Think of it this way-ever play Pac-Man?   Still play it daily?  Same thing.

agreed on the ships being perfect at all times.  No self respecting sailor, pirate or not, would allow their ships to look anything other than perfect. 

I also find it a bit odd that a player of Eve has a probelm with avatars...seems to me they were just added to your oh so perfect eve game (after how long?).  Also, how much has Eve changed, evolved and grown over time?  As you mentioned yourself, POTBS has a good foundation to build on, something to grow into or evolve over time.  The designers are very open and talk to the player base like we actually matter!  SHOCKING!  Maybe they are looking for feedback, going to tweak as they go and grow the game into something that the players want.  Or they could go the way of Eve and just make it into something the designers play, cheat as they go and cover it up with a good dose of kool-aide.  By the way, need another cup full?

hmm, Eve, isnt that the game that no matter how much you play you will never catch up to someone that started even a day before you?  Oh, wait, is this the part that you tell me that I can get some good basic skills and be your "tackler'?  No, no, wait, or is this the part that you tell me to train up and be one of the cannon fodder so you can position your UBER ship in place to kill the enemy----just long enough for the massive lag, I mean battle, to take place?

Pyrostasis-you are correct, pure means 100% of something, garbage means anything worthless, inferior or vile.  Since it is the last choice on the poll, I think pure garbage is correct; 100% worthless.

I would go back to a classic server as well, and start from scratch.  Run my 3 toons and be happy as a clam.  As bad as SWG is now, the original format is 'lightyears' ahead of most game that are current.

I had stopped playing SWG years ago but I do enjoy reading these forums.  I especially like the Veteran Refuge because there are times that posters bring up some of the good things that SWG brought to the table.  What I do hate is when people come in here and start proclaiming how wonderful things are.  Do us all a favor, leave us to moan and groan in the REFUGE area, praise the game in the the active player forum.  If you are a current player of SWG what the heck are you doing in the VETRAN REFUGE area?
