Originally posted by Crynswind Hate to burst your bubble but the Koreans are whining about there being too many repeatable quests and basically the game is lacking in meaningful content. ( much like Aion at launch) My prediction for Tera is that it will be fun, although it willbe quite grindy in the later levels which will take them at least 6 months to sort out. Now I'm not saying it will be a bad game, I'm sure it'll be good and I'll be trying it but I suspect that in terms of polished, fleshed out 1 to max level content Rift will have trumped Tera. |

I was seriously expecting more in terms of graphics, those dull lifeless faces and low detail textures on the armour...eugh. |

Beta Review: Extremely addicting. Not what I thought it would be at all.

Originally posted by Vegetto Not only that but the game actually has you running across the zone to fight invasions and close rifts which can't be said for all the other mmo's created. Once you'd finished the quests in an area you'd never look back. |

Heh, when people post a negative review it's always "Omg play the game more before you review it!" and when someone posts a glowing review it's, "omg, wait until the end game, god I hear this all the time, people saying it's the best thing ever". Trolls will be trolls. |

Originally posted by NeokiNaomi You do realise that that very closely resembles the original galaxy from Planetside which launched in 2003 / 2004? So any idea that SOE has copied Avatar is beyond absurd. If anything you should say avatar copied planetside. |

Just scripts?? Do you even have a clue how a game ENGINE works, we're not talking about a game that's already been made from an engine i.e counter-strike source or Half life 2. All you get when you buy the source engine is basically a library of code that can be called upon to do certain functions such as lighting, loading textures models / props and sounds. I think YOU need to go back and learn exactly what a game engine is. |

Hi mmorpg.com, Can anyone quickly tell me which of the EU servers you feel are currently the most populated? I'm looking to find a new mmo to jump into for a while until cataclysm hits.

You can do all of those things but there isn't any point in doing most of them. 1 ) building a house serves no purpose what so ever other than to simply own one, you can't furnish them you can't do anything with them other than simply having one. 2 ) You can "apparently" build a city although apparently that's all broken at the moment anyway so it doesn't matter. Although even when it's fixed there is again nothing you can do with this city there are no kind of special mechanics that in place for cities. 3 ) The actual PvP in the game has no purpose either as there isn't actually any reason to fight each other; other than for the sake of it. Basically you want to play Darkfall. |

Doomed. The trailer as good as it was does not represent actual gameplay what-so-ever, mostly because they didn't actually show any. Basically what this trailer said was, "Yep, we've got some decent artists; shame about the rest of the development team though!" Unreal engine running third party server code, good fucking game. |

Poll: How would you rate the open beta thus far?
General Discussion « Mortal Online 2/08/10 4:52:05 PM
Voted 4, the game has potential however it's going to crash and burn a few months after release simply because no one is going to pay a monthly subscription for this game that has 'potential' and otherwise is a flaming piece of shit. |

Just to give you all an idea of what a game almost in alpha looks like here's a video of Natural Selection 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu23zfObtv4 |

All I have to say is this game is actually a piece of shit. I managed to actually play last night for a bit the character creation is the first thing that struck me as being a big WTF moment. There are no information boxes telling you what you just chose actually means in the game world. No kind of indication of what you need to create a certain type of character or even if there is a way to even create a certain type of character. There is NO information what-so-ever pertaining to anything, it's just basically some graphics and that's it, like a MUD but in reverse. I wandered around for a bit and didn't have the first clue what to do. The user interface was the worst one I've yet to experience I, Had no idea how to even bring up the hud or talk to other people. I randomly brought up my fists for a brief second only for them to go away just as fast. When I finally got the UI up I was presented with more boxes with no information, I understand this is supposed to be super super hardcore - but how do they expect anyone to learn the game. The graphics, oh the graphics. Considering how they're using the unreal 3 engine they do look a bit poor, this was possibly the games only slightly redeeming feature. The graphics however were very bad, extremely low quality textures, dodgey shadows everywhere, incredibly stiff animations and the list goes on. Overall there is no way this could even be construed as being a BETA, pre-alpha maybe but by no means is there anywhere near ready for release, as soon as you expect someone to pay a monthly fee for this it will be dead. |
