I am still debating between this or DF when I have more time to play a game.  That and I wanted to wait a while see how both games did after launch.

I liked the open world sound of both games but I do enjoy PvP with a purpose.  I know in AC when I played it sometimes the community would create isn't own event which made PvP more enjoyable but in the it is a lot more fun if you have some varied things to do build into the game pvp wise.

I really like the concept WoW's and WAR's instanced PvP (battlegrounds or whatever).  But balancing issues, lack of other things I enjoyed doing, and the fact those games reply too much on level and gear made it less enjoyable.  I really hated when you would get into and instance of "tweaks" and it would be so uneven it wouldn't be enjoyable.  Seemed like only about 25% of the matches I played were competitive enough to be enjoyable.

I really like the sound of an open world, lootable pvp that gives XP so you can level in pvp (but I would like a few items being safe no full loot), some siege type capture points, and some battleground (CtF, zone control, etc.)

But I haven't seen a game that offers all of that.

Get Darkfall, interesting and extremely  good PvP, full loot, open world and massive sieges. The PvE in Darkfall isn't fantastic however it's better than fallen earths and can only improve with the expansion coming out tomorrow!

I don't know why you are asking here, you are obviously going to be biased results simply because the large majority of the mmorpg.com community has negative views on Darkfall. However making a post on the darkfall forums would also result in a biased reply. All I can say to you is simply try it out if you are going to play KOTOR without any real information of the game then why not try darkfall? 

If you quickly look over the Darkfall official forums you can see that there is nothing but good things being said about the game, compare that to the AoC forums it's totally different. 

 Welcome to Darkfall, it's funny even after all the hate all the people who join the game always have a first experience like that. 

 Good little guide. You'll want to update that quite a lot though after the expansion comes out ;)

They spend everything on the game. they get a lot of grief for it, but they know spending money on the game is the best thing in the long term.
Lets look at Warhammer.
How much money was spent flying Paul, Josh and and Hickman in Business class around the world in  for years before the game launched?
How much was spent setting up MASSIVE stands at every games event for the year building up to the launch of the game?
How much money was spent advertising the game on all the gaming websites? Remember when they got a full screen ad on wowhead.com?
How much was spent on the HUGE number of servers that they had to close down?
How much was spent on all the Community staff who were hired to watch the forums of the fan sites?
How much was spent on all the marketing staff?
Warhammer spent MASSIVE amounts of money on stuff that had nothing to do with the game and everything to do with hype. it worked. they tricked a lot of people into buying the game, but they left a month or two later.  AV spent their tiny budget on the game. Yes it had problems. Yes they didn't communicate. Yes things have been a pain in the ass. But they knew spending everything they had on the game would be for the best in the long term.
DF has the chance to become one of the rare MMOs to constantly grow rather than boom, bust and close.

In WoW I have more then 50 different skills and abilites on hotbar and use them all constantly. 

In DF i had only shooting a blue crap spell and hitting a sword with 1 boring animation. Fun fun

I don't know what you are talking about. How does WoW have the best combat system? Its clcik'n'cast crap that is in every other MMO. Darkfall has FPS combat, which is 100x better then click'n'cast.

Darkfall has the best PvP out of any MMO I have ever played.

People would chose darkfall because you don't have to wait a year before you can start playing the game. 

Would you like me to show you how to skill up a FW pilot in three days and be pvping fully in four? I know most people dont have the intelligence to figure this stuff out. In Darkfall you get slaughtered instantly for the first week or so. Now who gets to start playing the game first?

I would have to agree with the above poster. Runes of Magic is quite a nice game although it is a very basic PvE game. There really is no comparison to a free to play game and a pay to play. Runes of magic is essentially a WoW clone at the very best with a few interesting gimmicky features to attract some curious gamers in.
