Umm yeah of course you have to set up an account provide a CC number and enjoy your free trial period. It's up to YOU to cancel before your free trial is over. Gee Wiz, why are there so many a holes that want this game to fail?

BUT if he lies to you striaght up and says "oh i tried to go home but my friend's house almost caught on fire and jessica's dad was blah blah blah," you kind of start to wonder why he's lieing so much.  Was he doing drugs or out looting stores?  You don't know but the lies make you assume the worse.

Had funcom just told us they were sorry some features weren't in game due to technical issues, most players would have griped and groaned but still remained loyal to the game since it had potential.  But when they go so far as to lie to us customers and then try to hide ALL evidence (delete posts, remove search option, ban players, lie in PR interviews), it really makes us wonder if the problems are really disasters waiting to unfold.

It's sad really, I like the game but I canceled today when funcom refused to awknowledge the pet bugs on necroes... i mean the bug doesn't make the game unplayable but the fact that they won't awknowledge it makes me wonder if they'll ever fix it or for the matter ever implement the features promised pre-launch.

I'm just too scared to invest time/money into a game and then see the funcom dev's jump ship... leaving us to die...

Funcom's game director has released 2 public statements regarding the game, patches are steadily being pumped out, PvP is already being worked on and ready to be released, they added a test server and the list can go on and on. So Funcom is working to correct the problems. Posts are being deleted in the official forums because of the trolls spamming useless junk.

....and you guys are basing this on the stock market?? ROFL. We all know how stable the stock market is and stocks rise and fall all the time. Good grief people.

Will we be automatically invited to open Beta if we are a File planet member? As I understand it there will still be a cap on open Beta testers right?

I don't know about you guys....but I kind of lost a lot of interest in mmos recently. It just seems few games deliver after its initial hype release. I think the next and last mmo I will buy for a while will be AoC.

Unless you found a collectors edition there was nothing really special in the box (unless you wanted the box art).  Topped off by the fact... the download won't be any longer than if you install those launch discs and then patch.

We have a gamestop brick and mortar that still has a SWG collectors edition... well heck they still have a AC2 box on the self there lol...

Oh yeah....it will keep you busy for two months until AoC comes out (i am waiting for that one to come out too). It's really a fun game and good storyline but after a few weeks of run around shoot em up it gets old rather quickly. The only thing that is going to keep the game alive is content.....so I hope the Devs deliver that. Also keep an eye out for NCSoft's Aion MMO.....unknown when the release date is but it looks good.

oh cool.....one other question.....When you sign up wil they tske all major credit cards or MC / Visa only?

Latest Wizard magazine says Cryptic studios and Marvel are having problems.....game may be canceled.

Thinking about trying this game out. Is there cross platform play (pc to 360?)

I have to admit that the CoH/Cov were first in the super hero mmo business. While Marvel and DC tend to slap the "official" seal on "super hero" stuff CoH/CoV was here first. Again recapping from another thread....Cryptic Studios and Marvel are having problems. Wizard magazine said its on the verge of being canceled all together. So who knows *shrug*

Yup true but cryptic are showing no sign of confirming that, even though the rumour was started over 3 months ago and cryptic are still advertising the marvel mmo on there sight, if the rumour was true they would have to enlighten everyone that cancelation has taken place and pull all the various items pertaining to the marvel mmo due to copyright of the PI , which hasnt happened so its still in the works.

Well according to the latest issue of Wizard magazine....they said that the Marvel MMO is on the verge of being canceled because Cryptic and MARVEL are having problems.

No beta.....better off that way really.

I installed the game, played it for 30 minutes and uninstalled it. The gameplay is horrible, the combat system is horrible and there was one bug that made me made. Anytime my toon would run inside buildings the lag was horrible. They just need to make this one  free to play.

Count me in for Stargate worlds too. Thats my next game of interest!!!!

You may be able to dismiss the "controversy" with a "single update" but it's the largest controversy in the history of MMO's and the most radical and dramatic "update" ever done to a live video game.  The game was never a success, peaking at around 300K subs and down to less than 100K now (meanwhile WoW currently has over 9 million active subs).

I don't think PE is doing a very good job, and most likely STO will either never go live or it will be a complete failure - but trust me things would be 100 times worse if SOE had the license.

Umm SWG was NOT a failure from day 1. The pre cu (or the pre update) of the game was the best version ever. It had tons of subscribers, fully populated servers and the best features. Now the post game update isn't so hot but still the game is there, there are still lots of subscribers and there just needs to be a few server merges. The game is still very alive despite what you hear.

 Star wars is BETTER than Star Trek anyway....muwahahahhahahahaha!!!! Star Wars 4 Eva!

Dunno, but tommorrow from what I understand starts open Beta for File Planet peeps.
