Yeah im definitely not wasting my money on AoC. I can easily wait a few weeks for a better quality game.

WAR will definitely be the winner in 2008. The smooth and bug free nature of WAR will be much more appealing to the community than that of a lagfest full of bugs and problems to be experienced in aoc.

Yet more proof that this game is going to be over run with loads and loads of 13 year old kids.

I agree. The community for this game is gonna be terrible.

When i first saw this game, i compared it to WoW...

lol

Yes i've been hyped about WAR ever since its art style was very similar to WoWs!!

After watching all the WAR videos it's become crystal clear that WAR is using EXACTLEY the same engine as WoW... Exactley the same cartoony style, character models...even the yellow explanation marks!

I'm by no means trying to flame, but can anyone explain what exactley is original about this game considering all the hype?

How is WAR a ripoff of WOW. They are completely different in gameplay. The only thing that is the same is the art style which is actually a lot better than other art styles out there today.

I don't see whats so great about this pvp seige. It will be NOTHING compared to the sieges in WAR.

Theres one thing darkfall won't have. That is the fun factor. WAR will absolutely destroy darkfall in this aspect of the game.

Objectives , Rewards, and Penalties . These make PvP fun imo,  you need atleast 2 of these to make PvP Work,  older games like EQ , UO worked on Rewards and Penalties , if you kill you take if you die you lose, simple but effective to make PvP competitive. DAOC and Shadowbane worked on all 3 which is why in most part people bring them up so much in regards to good pvp, Objective, take the enemy keeps, reward items / realm points / bragging rights , penalties lose items / lose keeps / lose realm bonuses / ect ect.

WoW only has 1, Rewards, there is no objective, there is no penalties, all you do is kill and die and be rewarded for it no matter how good or bad you are, this makes PvP boring. Theres no competition if you have no point to strive for and no fear of death or loss.

Exactly! Kudos to you! When there are only rewards, that is incentive for a competition, and not a friendly one. And to win a competition, you have to work, work, work. I only PvP'd casually and enjoyed it immensly, I developed my own playstyle and explored it, never got burned out from PvPing in WoW, not once.

I agree with you. WoW does not need all 3 for its PvP to be fun. WoW redefined the meaning of PvP by creating extremely fun PvP that cannot be found in other games.

I haven't played this game in 2 years, so figured I'd give it a shot.  In less then 2 days I lost my only 2 ships (About 1 month of grinding) in areas I use to mine at, 2 years ago.

PvP is exactly like World of Warcraft:

Grind--->Twink--->Gank.  After 2 years, more players finished their Grinding, finished their Twinking, and are now borred and Ganking.  Well whoopty do, im not interested in the Grind-->Twink-->Gank formula, I tried it before and was no fun.

ermm...WoW PvP is much more fun than EVE's PvP...

This game IMO will most likely fail. I don't think I will even try this game anymore after the delay even if it is successful (highly doubt it). WAR is the future for MMOs and since both of their release dates are quite similar, majority of people will most likely pick WAR instead, and I will most definately be a part of that majority of people.

This game IMO looks terrible. I think i'll leave my hopes in WAR instead or ill stick to WoW.

wow is the best

I agree with you. Nothing comes close to WoW these days and the future list of games don't look anywhere near as good as WoW. maybe only WAR but nothing will get close.

I would love to try this game out as well! Very much appreciated if someone could let me try this game! email - alex44alex@iinet.net.au

thanks!

You should wait for AoC to come out before saying how fantasic it will be. Your setting yourself up for a big disappointment im guessing.

From the combat videos i've seen, it looks just as run of the mill as most other MMOG's. Nothing interesting there and the blood

effects look way over done and not real at all.

If the monthly price went higher than 15 bucks on any MMO, i'd stop playing in a second. They don't offer enough entertainment or support

for any price higher than that.

I agree with you totally. The videos I have seen do not show revolutionary combat that the company's been boasting about. It seems it's almost similar to every other mmorpg out there. Character models also don't look so great although the environment does look quite good.

I would love to have a trial key thanks!

"War i suppose will cater to the 5 million or so people who absolutly loved pressing the 1-9 keys over and over"

Where as AoC of course will cater to the other 4millions or so people who absolutely loved pressing the 1-5 keys over and over. Clearly by eliminating the 4 extra keys to press the game is able to add "skills" beyond what has been possible before. Or somethign along those lines.

I feel people who expect aoc's combat to be so dynamic it can be mistaken for an fps game will be very dispointed. Gunz online requires skills (not really an mmo though) aoc.. well, your definition for "skills" is likely different. But how is turning around so target is in the cone in front of you where melee attacks go is any different than turnign around in wow so you have your enemy in front of you?

How is, once you turned around and faced your target, is pressign buttons 1-5 is skill? How is then pressing 1-5keys again for a combo is skill again? Oh, you need to know which combos will work best in which situations? Guess what, in wow, you too need to know which keys to press to get the best effect in a given situation.

So, where is all thise new and revelutionary melee combat? In combat dodging? Hasn't been shown in a video yet (they did show how to do it, they just never showed an actual combat where a char dodges and avoids damage from an attack) then again, with the kind of lag aoc videos always show and npcs facing wrong direction and 2 feet away landing all their hits just fine, I doubt it's actually possible to show in-combat dodging.

It doesn't matter what game you think is better. But if you are going to make a comment detailing why you think it's better, could you at least look your arguments over to make sure they actually make sense to none fanbois? It's like saying war will be waay better than aoc because it has like orcapults, which throw and orc over a castle wall like zomg!

I completely agree with you. I just don't see how pressing 1-5 keys requires more skill than pressing 1-9 keys.

Im not impressed either tbh. I like WAR graphics better, i just think the character models look cooler with WAR. Im not saying AOC graphics suck though. Anyone who says that is lying.

I agree with you. Yes the AoC environment looks very nice but the WAR graphics seem much more unique and interesting to look at. I also think the character models in WAR have a much smoother aspect in them instead of AoCs.

I think the only game in the next couple of years to get close to WoW would be WAR. WoW is just unstoppable but WAR does look very promising and will most likely take a chunk of the subscription numbers out of WoW

Best online game is WoW. No other game comes close.
