Actually the old testament and new testament God are the same.... The old testament shows God's law, justice, wrath. The new testament shows his mercy, grace, love and his willingness to have us closer to him. I know some of you are thinking then why cast us out in the first place? God has rules just like we have rules/laws of this world. Judges obey and enforce the man made laws of this world. God is the Supreme Judge he is pure/good and evil can not be in his presence. The old testament shows how God couldnt reveal himself entirely to moses or anyone else because his power and his greatness wouldn've surely killed them. The New testament shows God coming in the form of man leaving his glory and becoming as us to save us and to show us that he loves and wants us no matter how imperfect we are.

Everyone has more than one emotion / attribute and so does God. I have patience, love, and i also have hate and anger, saddness..... does that mean im a different person? Nope simply showing my many emotions....my many attributes. To a man who has done me wrong he would see my anger and saddness side...to someone who is kind to me will see my friendly, loving side. Which side of God do you want to see? =8-)

I agree, i have a nephew who plays wow and he is bearly 6 and thats all he wants to do, his mother has to pry him from it to go outside and play and get some sun.... Its an addiction to most people and kids i believe under 13 wouldnt be able to handle the addiction in a positive way. It's easier to start them out with consoles first because at least there is a pause button and a save option to leave off where you stopped....MMO's are like real time so kids don't want to get away because the party wouldnt be there when he/she returns or if they step away there is a risk of dying and what not. I may add that the 6 year old has his own lap top witch is a big mistake because he gets angry when he keeps dying and he already broken one key. I say let your kids be kids go outside get some sun play in the dirt and wait until later and let them play video games. Wait until the teen years when they lose interest in playing outside and become depressed, isolated, "everyone hates me" type of person....lol. Then you would want them to stay indoors and playing games to let loose that negative energy....of  DIE DIE DIE!!! but hey thats just my point of view...LOL!!  =8-)

There is a new one called Urban rivals, its a card battling game. I must say quite fun...here is the link

http://www.urban-rivals.com  enjoy!!

I have a simple web browser card game, i know sounds boring but its actually fun.

I've been playing it for about a week...doesnt take alot of time nor brains to play...lol enjoy!

i believe you chose to be gay just like the murderer chose to kill, like the pedophile chose to molest the little boy. Deep down they knew it was wrong...but there lust, there desire made them do it....your lust and desire makes you do whatever you do.

Perhaps you should compare the first part of your post to where it led you in the end. Is it unreasonable to think that the disciples endured what befell them simply because it was their desire to be close to god and their unwavering belief that Jesus was son of god?

I'm not going to debate whether homosexuality is a choice or not (I don't believe it is, for the record), but so what if it is? Why should I care what someone else chooses to do with their life? Unlike your comparisons of murder and pedophilia, nobody was harmed in the homosexual act. So why are you so threatened by it? You still have every opportunity to find what makes you happy in life.

if these first christians really didnt have prove of Jesus and really didnt see him why would all of his disciples endure so much hardship for someone who really isnt the saviour? I know i wouldnt go around the world teaching and professing and enduring torture, death for something a man just made up.

People deal with alienation, bigotry and even torture every day becasue of their religion, sexual orientation, gender, race, class, etc. How does this differ from what Jesus and the disciples endured for their beliefs? Do you think you have anything in common with Pontius Pilate?

Being an agnostic, I have no opinions one way or the other. I spend a lot of time adding questions to a list that never gets anything checked off. I, like you, find it very hard to believe that a person would endure such torture and ultimately gruesome death for a position they didn't consider as fact. To me, this is not unlike soldiers who fight for their country or citizens who fight for racial equality or even same sex marriage. I think it's high time we stopped all the fear of people's differences and learned to embrace them. After all, that's what Jesus would have done, right?

Homosexuality doesnt threaten me......it only threatens the practioner. Why should you or I care? Would you care if you saw a blind man walking into the way of a bus?  Love for everyone makes me care, because i know God doesnt want anyone to perish that is the whole point of Jesus. Your example of soldiers and same sex marriages are very different because you see there is alot of people out there today who supports same sex marriage and the soldiers.....back then christianity was just starting off so there was limited support, and also how many soldiers you know who have met the president ate with the president, embraced the president? The disciples saw Jesus, ate with him, embraced him saw him touch others and work miracles. Is it there desire to believe he is the son of God? i think not, it wasnt a desire to make him son of God it was proven to them. It was there desire for him to take up his kingdom but he told them his kingdom is not of this world. There desire was to get closer to God, yes but only after they first knew Jesus. Jesus love and embraced people yes, but Jesus also made known to them there error. I love and i will embrace anyone, but if i see something i believe to be wrong i will say something because i feel its my responsibility to help. If i see someone walking to the edge i will try my best to help them realize hey man your about to fall down a huge steep hill with jagged edges, you will be torn apart and your guts will spill out,  you will die! If someone heard me say this without seeing or knowning that the man is walking off a cliff then they would think that im mad and think its just my opinion or what i believe. The edge is sin and the consequenecs (the tearing apart and guts spill out) is in mild the pain that leads to death.

I also want to add this link, it will offend some of you nonetheless, its the truth.

I agree with the poster who said the bible is a guide, people see many condradictions in the bible simply because one book may word it differently than the other. I think in the end ppl are looking for a excuse to not believe in God. That is just my opinion and i'm sure someone will comment about me saying this...lol. :)

I also have a link to a website that may guide you, there is a question and answer section and even a section with bible condratictions, if you want go here and look to the left where the menu is. http://www.carm.org/  <~~ is the site.

I disagree with that.  I'm not looking at the contradictions as a way of not believing in God.  I'm looking at them as proof that man has taken God's love for all of us and tried to mess it all up.

Look, I'm a prime example.  I cannot in my heart ever believe that God does not approve of me being gay.  I know it because I also know that he made me this way.  Those misinterpretations and contradictions pointed the way for me to find the truth.  When I found out about the first misinterpretation I got the greatest feeling of hope I've ever felt in my whole life.  Then when I had the others pointed out, I finally felt a feeling of acceptance that no person or amount of people could ever give me.

I wish more people would learn about those contradictions and misinterpretations so that they too could find their way to be close to God.  You can't find God unless you question the people who are claiming to want to show you how to get there.

i believe you chose to be gay just like the murderer chose to kill, like the pedophile chose to molest the little boy. Deep down they knew it was wrong...but there lust, there desire made them do it....your lust and desire makes you do whatever you do. Its also a preference i perfer a latina over a white or black girl any day. God made me dislike white girls...no he gave me the ability to choose and i feel more attractive to those types. I know you feel that its right to be gay  even society makes you think that as well. I'm not going to bash anyone for being gay i just disagree with there choice, there lifestyle....just as i disagree with someone who rapes, kills, or molests. I know your thinking im putting you in a category with half of the people in prison....im not im just simply showing examples of who i disagree with.  I'm not perfect im a sinner just like everyone else.....you would disagree with me and my lifestyle, but its really about this.....if these first christians really didnt have prove of Jesus and really didnt see him why would all of his disciples endure so much hardship for someone who really isnt the saviour? I know i wouldnt go around the world teaching and professing and enduring torture, death for something a man just made up. I cant prove God exist to you just as you cant prove if the apple im eating tastes sweet or sour.  Experience is what i have, i've experience God in my life. No one can tell me any difference because not only have I seen it but others around have seen a krazy, depressed, guy gone from hating every1 to loving everyone. If there was no God then how does someone change in the blink of an eye just by praying to the wind? I know all of this doesnt really relate to what you said ...im just rambling...lol  God Bless you and keep you safe.

all of this is with love not hate or bashing.... I know you may feel offended but i would rather have a brother tell me he disagrees then a enemy.... I am your brother in Christ. much love!

Interesting thread,

Hey Draenor,

I feel you're the best to answer this, also you brought it up. Why is it necessary for Jesus to die for man's sins. It is not justice in my mind that people are born with original sin. So if I have a son, the son is already born with sins and already has a debt at a few years old. So if a baby dies do they go to hell? Post-baptism? pre-baptism? Is a child x<10 years old responsible for their beliefs?

I am just trying to understand the issue with Jesus dying for our sins. I am looking it up on wikipedia, i guess i originally thought it was due to Adam's weakness and thus if we believe in Jesus we get those sins that someone else committed wiped out? Sorry if i sound ignorant, i just don't understand it?

To the OP:

Anyway, questioning something is good, but a person better be open-minded to the answer. Furthermore, if you're going to question something in anything, it's best, you do some research about it in general.

In reference to science.

I consider myself a pre-scientist (meaning I do science but i'm not a Ph.D. in a subject).

The point I want to make is that the more I research science, the more bullshit it becomes. So many things are contradictory its not even funny. So much science is really BS science that someone just passes through to keep their job or to convince the market of a dubious product. There is a lot of science that is fantastic, but science is not the end all and be all and i wouldn't consider science an alternative to religion. Then again, I think religion and science go hand in hand but that's just me. If i wasn't into science myself, i'd be an atheist for sure. Thus, science convinces me of religion. I know, I'm weird. I cringe when someone thinks of science as the golden standard of truth and fact. It's a really good one, it's probably one of the highest standards we have, but it's not 100% factual.

This may or may not help you but its a guide nonetheless but also note Adam was the first and we inherit from him his nature....his traits...his free will, his curiousity, and also his rebellion. We all inherited something from our ancestors...im 6'1" tall and have brownish hair...is it fair that i inherited this from my ancestors?

I say no....there is something fishy with this story. This girl spending all this money on you and have you spent all of this on her? Sounds like a newspaper story of a krazy child molester trying any way possible to get his victums address...lol...

America isn't a place, rather it's an idea. An idea that one owns one's self, one's labor and time as property. That no other may seek any portion of it as their property without trade. Yet, today, that idea is out of fashion, it is considered old and tired, and some even claim it's impractical. But ideas like these don't really die, they simply find new minds to inhabit. For me it is sad to say that those that claim to be Americans don't house the idea of America anymore. And to me, they are the ones who are dead, not the idea.

America is dead......It died long ago. The orginal idea has been overwritten so as our

laws and our freedoms, they're tweaked but not to everyone's benefit.

LOL!!....ok listen up, I have heard a few stories about this..... Ladies in general back then weren’t as independent as they are nowadays. I have heard many stories from elderly ladies about women were majority homemakers and such; nowadays they're everything from judges to salesperson. I believe back then it was ok for women to marry at a young age because they're parents were ok with it. I believe and have heard that women marry young to successful men to have a better future for themselves because unlike today women back then couldn’t be the next president. A successful future back then (for women) was to have a big house and lots of children. Women are more independent today therefore don’t have to rely on men as much for anything....they have more rights and more jobs available to them today. They don't want to marry young or they're parents don;t want them to marry young because the young ladies can be anything they want to be not just a house wife or a mother. Think about it why settle down when you can be the next Oprah? or Hiliary?  Women have new dreams and new standards and marrying young will prevent most of them from reaching those goals and dreams. There is alot of schooling to obtain master degrees and such. It would be very hard to do your schooling with 3 kids and a husband who is a full time worker. ( I know you thinking babysitter but what if you cant afford it nor have any friends or family near or willing to help you out?)

I'm sorry, but your argument didn't quite hit it out of the park with me.

I am sort of dismayed with what we call a "successful" woman these days.  What's success for a woman today?  The fact that she is divorced and trying to take care of children on her own?  Or maybe the successful woman is the one that is married, but is working all day instead of spending the time with her children that she needs to.  Then when she is raking in the big money and her kids are all f'n stupid as shit because they don't have someone to keep them in line, she can feel great about her pocket book.

That's success?  I don't think so.  I think a successful woman is one that stays married, realizes that raising children is about the most important job she could ever dream of having, and produces wonderful morally guided human beings to help all of society.

This new woman stuff is horrible.  Hedonistic is the best I can say of it.

Thats not success in my book, but we all have an opinion on what success is...i see success as morally not being rich or having a $100,000 car. Success however in today's society is look at, at a materialistic point of view with how much you make and what kinda car you drive etc. etc.....you and i have morals that defines us to be non-materialistic. Having a family that sticks together through thick and thin is a successful family, not because they live in a 6 bedroom house. My "argument" you say; is not displaying what success is, merely stating women are more independant nowadays, with more high paying jobs available to them. They are also less dependant on men to provide for them. I am a poor man and i will always be poor but i will always be rich in love and friends and thats all I need to be a successful human being.

My fav one is the one with Die another day theme song. I cant remember the name of that one.

I highly doubt race is the factor, its everywhere....people are reading less paperbacks nowadays. Soon it will be a thing of the past. With busy lifestyles and technology advancing there are less book readers... People rather spend there time doing other things. Im sure there is a stastic somewhere. LOL!!! actually my employees love my since of humor, i'm told "your the koolest" either that or they're just suck ups...lol. The person was more likely ignorant with the whole veil  thing and just saw a lady with a mask on and just played around about being robbed...to get the lady to laugh. I mean someone should tell the lady hey look thats part of there culture, she might not have known. A class? nah... next thing you know there will be a class for everything and tax payers money will of course pay for it. "I saw a christmas tree at that place of business and it offended me that business needs a sensitivity class because i dont believe in christmas". I'm not saying what the lady said was right by all means but i can see how some people's humor might have thought it would make the lady laugh.  I'm sure the muslem lady's sense of humor is different than the clerk's, it has to be, because if it wasnt so this wouldnt be on the news.
