1k = 1000 PED worth 100 US Dollars... It is hard to play this game and it is very tedious if you want to play without putting in good amounts of money. To put it in perspective 1 of those 5 banks just went for 999000 PED 99, 900 US Dollars... an apartment will cost you 60 dollars plus 1.50 a month rent, Land 25 thousand usd plus rent and charges to put animals there, a spaceship, nearly 10,000 . Really the meaning of the game was to have fun and try to skill up so your costs of making money would be realized in the long run. In my opinion that is gone and the only real thing keeping people there is the relationships they have made in the game. Guns you loot or buy from other players at Markup%. looting items is very difficult usually you loot animal oil (Mind Arks attempt to hide the fact it is a slot machine on the web from US Lawmakers) There is no quests in this game. Once a year if we are lucky Mind Ark will host an event but don't hold your breath. really the game seems to favor and be geared towards people who are dumping these unheard of amounts of money in the game. The rest of us just shoot things or mine for resources and deal with the skill nerfs (which make it harder and more expensive to gain skill). And socalize. Be prepared, if you plan to get decent equipment and weapons it is going to cost you alot of money.

Good Luck though it is very fun to explore for the first month or so. They did introduce a new Version that is pretty cool, opened up more ground to hunt on for us. And The people there are usually very kind and willing to help newcomers.

Yes was there a communication that it is closing? It actually looks kind of interesting to me.

in anycase, the point of the thread on entropia forum isn't so much the ability to have or not have layer ran banks, but the way MA handled the situation.  seems asnhe or the other new bank owners are pulling the ropes now. and the banks were not even wanted or welcomed byu the player group.  we have other desires.

In non RCE games a company makinging a non moral/ illeagal decision does not really effect people. in that situation it is the difference between being cool or not. There is no real bottom line issue of losing money since it is pay to play.

No I suppose it may not be a valid reason to avoid the game however know that going into it if you do not have several thousands of dollars to actually "Make a living in a virtual Universe". Understand that any Ideas you have to advance in the game will be manipulated by MindArk on a whim. If you read through the several posts you can see what type of manipulation and doublestandards

Control is good. If you want chaos, go to god-awful Secondlife or something.

MindArks official stance against scamming is "all trades are final". This relinqueshes them from all responsibility to investigate and/or take action against scammers. In Fact if one is scammed by another player in the game they do not even take the moral highground and see if a trade took place. They do not nor have they ever lifted a finger against scammers. So Please do understand that that your point of view would be valid if that was truly what was going on.

The people which are involved is pretty irrelevant. this decision tells every member of Entropia Universe that they are not able loan thier own money out. the scope is a bit larger than three people.

I just want to allow you to know what the makers of this game are doing to people that have better ideas. As you know, the playerbase is using  a RCE setup (real Cash Economy). and they are obviously bound to the boundries that Mind Ark creates. Mind Ark decided to introduce 5 new banks which you may have read about. These banks were bought at very high prices from recipients including Second Lifes Anshe Chung and Jon Neverdie Jacobs. These Banking systems are a 24 hour 7 day a week way of taking money out on loan. You give your items to the bank and can take the loan. When you pay it back You get your items back. Great concept I agree. Once the banks were sold A group of well respected and very prominent players decided they could offer the same service however offer the rates cheaper because they did not spend money on a building. Mind Arks (well Marco thier brilliant spokesman)statement was to change the operating Name of the group which they did and they are able to operate due to free enterprise. Mindark came back 4 days later and stated if anyone offers these types of services They are considered Scammers in MA's eyes and can be banned. The Community is in a serious Uproar and wants this decision taken back. What this decision amounts to is, you either fork over serious money to Mind Ark. Or you get warned you will be banned for getting in the way.

And in typical Mind Ark Manner They created 2 events sponsored by Mind Ark. This is a usual tactic they use to get the playerbase thinking of something else when they make these unheard of decisions. In most mmo's Events are common place. In Entropia Universe they are once a year. As Well this is only if the player base gets upset and demands events. so two in one week is very obvious.

All I have to say is I have been around for 2 yrs. I have put money in (over and over) but nothing... The creators of this game are out to take your money and keep you in the dark about how they do it... Your thinking how is that... No guides... no help, being shut out by support and best yet... no Official Forum. The Forum most people use is http://www.entropiaforum.com  Better be in the "In" Crowd and say what you are supposed to or you're gone...

MA has had lawsuits against them been investigated for fraud, the ATM cards... hehe yep The bank that handled them ran for thier lives leaving hundreds of people pissed and scared no more cards... On top of that as a noob you have the opportunity to stand up against scammers (before you even have a clue). When you are ripped off and you tell MA (MindArk) they will advise you they don't get in the middle of such trade disputes. Ok so you realise not only has real money been stolen from you, now you cant compete because (The House Always Wins) . So you go back to That forum for any help you might get... advice from the older players maybe, anything because you were really Just ripped off... And guess what. Unless you are on of those important members you get ridiculed... told well you are just dumb for doing it accepting the trade etc...  Tough...

Ehhh THE BUGS!!! MA does not care for thier bugs the game is bugged to no end. so what happens is you are hunting or mining or coloring or whatever... all the sudden you see a freakin lumber board run by and you get booted... well log back in to find out you just lost the last 5 minutes of money... yep and go for it place a support ticket in... MA will respond after you have given up (3 weeks Min) and say sorry your fault... I could go all night on this pyramid scheme... (STAY AWAY or lose your butt promise)

eh, I am sure Archangel or Xantonia  (and the others trying to fix the polls here) are going to come say how wonderful EU is, and I have to say I agree... but after the honeymoon period is over, hell better watch your back and your pocket book! It is nothing but a money pit!

Think spending 100 USD will get you anywhere... just try it ;)

This Game Sucks!

I am on the hunt for a new mmo and thought I'd try this one. All I know is when you cant use a mouse to run... you turn the game off. I tried this and tried all the options and still couldn't run with my mouse... I might be a noob but intuitive controls are a must. The graphics were cool, and I wanted to play but oh well... Also GL trying to get anyone to talk to you...  Oh well... might have been fun.
