Somehow the entire aggressive tone of your post makes me disbelieve you are looking for real discourse on the subject, you're here to pick a fight so the "no arguing" comment is a bit silly.

 

 

 

Truth is, everything you claim about how great, wonderful and amazing this game is going to be is based more on faith than any real empirical evidence that the game is any good.  Sure, they've got a web site, and some short movies about the game play, but fact remains, they don't attend many trade shows, don't host many media events and don't let the "public" get there hands on any part of the game.

Oh sure, they explain it away as they are too busy, too focused to be bothered with nonsense like promoting the game, holding betas, hiring a proper test manager etc. 

People base the vaporware comments on the fact that multiple beta dates have been announced, yet never realized, very little in the way of concrete game information has been released and when it is, it comes in dribs and drabs...

Look, over the past 5 years there's been a number of new games released.  One was a huge hit, some were moderate successes, many were terrible failures.  In each case there were certain patterns and events that occurred, (such as promotion, beta's, information released about the game) and it is by these previous releases that DF is judged.

So far, DF is following the pattern of a loser game.  It looks more like Archlord or DnL than it does WOW or LotRO.  It is a perception thing, not a hard fact.  You can't really quantify it.... you just get this "gut feel" that something isn't quite right.... and since most game that gave us that same feeling (VG for example) proved to be as bad as we expected.

On occasion a game will follow an non-standard pattern and surprise us by being pretty good (EVE comes to mind) but for the most part, if it look like a skunk and smells like a skunk...... it's probably a skunk.....

I play DDO... And if you don't like grinding or 'Kill 7 rats so you can let them respawn and kill 14 more! DDO is the game for you!

SOE .... I dont care who it is made by, if it plays well, it plays well.... It is too early to judge this game, though I don't like most Sci-Fi games, so I won't follow this title unless they show something worth while ... Anyway, for all you SOE haters out there... Stop whining about the company and start looking into the actual game.

I just read through your post (OP) and I don't usually read EQ2 hate threads... And I've got to say... What the fuck are you talking about?

You honestly think this game is dead? What? I'm not a person that makes lots of alts so occasionally I start a new character just to check the load of servers in character creation... You know how many servers had a low capacity the last time I checked? .. 2. Four servers had a heavy load and the rest besides the two lows, were medium... Is that dead to you? I play on 2 characters on 2 servers.. Crushbone and Nagafen.. Nagafen is almost ALWAYS busy (its a pvp server) . And Crushbone a regular server, no RP tag or PvP tag on it.... is sometimes as busy as Nagafen.. So your 'EQ2 = Dead' theory is totally out of whack... And the dual core thing... If you find a way to wave your fingers and instantly make an old game dual core ready... You should call up SOE and tell em.

All in all.. I think you should update your facts... Perhaps your in a weird timezone and when you play there is no one on because we are all sleeping
