My ranger in DDO was the best class of any game I've played so far. Jumping and using the environment to blast my foes away from up high, or stealthing through dungeons undetected and killing main objectives only. Or a the TWF Paladin I created to group in a trio. We did things like tempest and the vons with only three people (not the dragon). Very fun |

Also because games are played by EVERYONE (america) now, and EVERYONE has access to the internet and EVERYONE is smacked in the face with media bullshit on television. You are witnessing the accelerated declination of the human species in terms of videogames. Psychologists are doing studies on this stuff. Sounds like you've been smoking a lot of pot, and for that I would like to give you a high five (could be wrong, but you sound like me when I'm stoned, that's all). It is VERY refreshing to see someone put feeling into posts instead of "cool story bro" and "mad cause bad" like I see in Darkfall forums. If you wanna flip out on any one game's community, release your wrath on Darkfall because it is the apitamy (spellcheck) of what you are describing. Sorry for double post |

To the OP: Ashamed to call yourself a gamer? Come on. No way! A gamer? Do you know how cool we actually are, how expanded our minds are, in one direction, compared to someone else's mind who is expanded in another direction. Do not associate with your target audience. I don't. I call myself a gamer because I play videogames every day, and have my whole life. I don't give a FUCK about any label someone might throw on me just because there is an asshole down the street who also plays videogames. Dissassociation is awesome, relieving, and very inviting. You totally get rid of the worry about being lumped into a stupid crowd, and immediately place yourself (undeservingly probably) above them. I didn't read your whole post because it was a lot of words and I have class soon.
Don't associate with people just because we also play games. Just do your own thing, and stick with the good people of the community. |

MMO's should be easy. Its better business and more FUN

Originally posted by CzechGuy Wrong. That is why the MMO you play should be easy. My MMO I want to be challenging, I want to venture with others and get my balls all tied up and have to use my brain fast to solve a problem.
You can't just want a whole genre to be easy. That is just stupid. Though this probably wasn't your intent of your post haha but just saying, if it was, it would totally suck. I would also hate you.

ignorace is bliss but otherwise, if i'm throwing down 50 bucks for a videogame, im gonna wanna know if it is gonna be worth my money. if i want to gamble, ill go to a casino. as for mmorpgs, ill be looking for just enough information to give me a reason to buy it, but i'm not going to go in blind. |

Hey everyone, I can't play DDO because of my college dorm just lags and lags, only for DDO though. Other games work fine, so I want to know if there is anything out there that is like DDO? (if anyone knows anything about superior DDO lag PM me about it cause I LOVE DDO). So yea, basically I am looking for a game like DDO to hold me over until the summer, where I will be reunited with supreme internet connectivity. I've played a lot of games, I won't list all of them because I'm willing to revisit any of them. It doesn't HAVE to be free to play so don't limit price at all. PvE group combat where skill is important. Customizeable classes. Dungeon runner (probably too specific so my prospective hold-over game doesn't need to be like that). thank yee |

Global Agenda to Adopt Free-to-Play Model / 1.4 update
General Discussion « Global Agenda 4/07/11 1:32:09 PM
first i will be playing this game definitely edit I like how they are using "get your stuff faster" as a way to make money instead of "get bogus stuff NAO" this game could easily be ruined if they introduced special gear that free players cant have, ruined for me at least. |

Do you prefer ffa-pvp everywhere, only consensual, or something in-between?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/05/11 5:48:17 PM
"casual gamers will not play a game with FFA OWPvP cause they will get frustrated and quit."
Why is this a mentality when talking about casual players? Who said that because I log in for 6 hours a week, I will get frustrated Darkfall, or MO, or Xyson? Please everyone, dump this mentality as it is a bogus mentality. Or please replace it wth "weak casual players" to tell us who you are really talking about. |

So what is my goal what am I going to be doing?
General Discussion « Mortal Online 4/03/11 10:06:36 PM
So I get the MO trail, downloading now, or let's say I immediately subbed. What am gonna be doing? I'm gonna want to explore with these beautiful graphics. Can I hit the "skill cap" in a quick time and then basically just roam around and handle anything? With help I guess? It's really easy to catch up with vets? I'm gonna totally wanna join a guild and PvP and kill dragons and do dungeons. Will that be happening soon? I'm a very casual player.

The move away from server community
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/30/11 4:50:09 PM
While this is going on in certain games, it isn't going on in other games. Depending on what gameplay you're after though may affect what games I could recommend to you that don't and hopefully won't fall into this trend. It is a trend, and may or may not continue to gain popularity. Blizzard found out that they could make more money that way, and others followed. Or Blizzard followed some other guys that were successful. Either way, it may not be around forever. I agree with you entirely though, which is why I play DDO / LOTRO / Darkfall, where the communities are strong. Darkfall may be filled with silly adults but it is still strong, and reputable. If you want group combat, try DDO man, it's the best group game I've ever played, and I am totally in love with it. (But my college internet sucks too much to play). |

Darkfall introduced huge skill increases and meditation (offline skill ups in exchange for gold). You can get PvP-optimal in one month easy, playing like 2 hours every night or something. Just sayin. It is EXACTLY what you're looking for, straight up, based on what you've told me. |

GMs try to run event.. have to cancel it after players riot
General Discussion « Mortal Online 3/28/11 1:06:41 PM
PK: I can ruin a GM's event PK: The players at the event can't stop me because they are all RP nerds and I'm a PK with a group PK: I'm killing many players inside the GM's event GM: You are in my event, killing players that are not to be killed. PK: I'm doing exactly what you just said. GM: I'm going to kill you now PK: You can't stop me from ruining your event, you're not a player! GM: So why can you inevitably destroy my event, with no risk? PK: Um.
"GMs cant interfere with players" is a belief of one of the AQ. "Players can interfere with GMs" is a belief of the same AQ. How can that system work, AQ?. GMs would technically never be able to host an event again, without integrating / using an ingame mechanic physically limiting players from doing something (like attacking a target). This game is not a true sandbox, so it doesn't need to follow true sandbox rules, it never claimed to be 100% sandbox, so you can NOT make assumptions based on that model, ie: I can do whatever the fuck I want because I <3 pixels. |

DDO and Darkfall. DDO was always the game that I was really good at, got far, and always had a good time. It's like a confidence builder for me now.
Darkfall is totally different though. My character is still in the beginning stages of being pvp-ready so I'm not much of an addition to the PvP part of the game, which is why I play Darkfall, ironic.
What sucks about it is that I love both these games, but both of them can't be played with lag, and I live in a college dorm. Lag is just here. It's like someone just threw lag all over me and its gross.

Why do so many people insist on focusing on the negative aspects of everything?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/10/11 8:21:28 PM
Why do so many focus on negative things? Hmm...Nobody can answer that question. Nobody knows whether someone is doing it for themselves, or for the game, or for their mother, or for their ex girlfriend. None of you can understand someone's internal intentions are for posting a thread. You cant say its because of the media, or its because they didn't have fathers, or its because they want to correct problems in the game, or because they dont give a shit about any of this and they just want to talk about something negative. In all fairness, its just something that tends to occur.
Originally posted by waveslayer There is no way that is true for 100% of people, therefore it is not applicable to answering a question demanding an absolute answer. |

Originally posted by Kamandi777 Sorry but I don't like PvP. I am a veteran gamer. Your game sucks. I enjoy doing quests.
No I don't enjoy kill x of y and z of a. Those aren't the quests I play. Quests don't have to be what we're given. There are new ideas everywhere. The reason you can't find a game that works for you is because the developers are stuck using basic formulas to create games instead of inventing new mechanics or meanings behind quests.
Your post is vague, stupid, completely not informative by any means at all. 'Lots of customization' What the hell is customization? Skills? Hairstyle? UI? Balls? Male or female? Both? Where do you draw the line, what renders it customized, what renders whether or not there is a lot of it? Cities that are small and conquerable? So you want to limit the customization of cities? What is small? Here is the funny one, "no grind" Once again, just like terms like sandbox, themepark, you cant just fucking throw around the work GRIND to mean 'EVERYTHING I DONT LIKE' . The point of a roleplaying game is to PROGRESS your desired ROLE. Whether or not you like the journey translates to whether or not you think its a grind or not. |

Sandbox /= open world quake deathmatch
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/12/11 1:30:28 PM
Originally posted by Gintoh Does anyone even know what a 'sandbox' game really means? A "sandbox" game is equivalent to "make the game for me please" game. You can't just say sandbox and then expect us all to know what you mean. What is a true sandbox? RL. Though I heard there are no respawns in RL. Pointless gankfest? People gank for a reason in Darkfall: loot, boredom, drunk, stoned... there are plenty of reasons. |
