In the future, when the technology is there, it would be excellent to have twitch-based combat for fighters, if they ever introduce them for players. (Until I see it, I don't think Jumpgate will manage it well - we are talking about hundreds of players fighting each other at once). It would be pointless for the larger ships - they turn too slowly. For them, the tactical perspective is better because you have different methods of combat than guns alone (drones, nos, EW, etc), and you have to be tactically aware so you can escape at the right time!
EVE is slowly getting there with twich-based combat, once walk-in-stations is implemented,it will only be a matter of time till a FPS mini game is introduced and then who knows.Oh yeah an manual control of any ship bigger then a frigate would be anoying and frustrating.
I agree with you. Walking in stations should be the answer. I remember piloting the larger (slower) ships in the game Elite - it was awful - you were a sitting duck with no idea of the tactical bigger picture. This matters when there is lots of ISK at stake. |

Frigates might actually play a more stronger role if they could reliably dodge incoming fire I'd love a mix. Been playing x3 reunion alot more then EVE lately and thats what I wish to see in an MMO (the combat system). Perfect mix for me. Can put ship on autopilot and attack enemies or assume the controls and blast'em

Eve Uni has to stay locked down because you are all new players. You come out and fight only when you have sufficient numbers. It might be time for you to move on. You could ask the corp The Graduates whether you could join them. They started out as a 0.0 branch of Eve Uni, so they are more likely to accept you given your relatively low SP. Personally, I am looking forward to walking in stations - it should offer another dimension to EVE other than war and ISK. |

My EVE is completely different. I spend my time trading between the Corp/Alliance HQ and Jita. I do this to supply the Northern Coalition with stuff. The idea of being involved in some insignificant little war has no appeal for me. Trading while avoiding the big boys, like Triumvirate, keeps me happy. When walking in stations comes out, I plan on running a bar for the Alliance. |

Hello! I've played this game for a few years! I'd recommend you join the player corp Eve University - they will answer all your questions and introduce you to all aspects of the game. They have an excellent reputation recognised by everyone. They can be slightly regimented for some people at fleet level, so if they are not for you, don't worry about it! Walking in stations should be introduced this Winter. To find the learning skills, open the markets tab and buy them at a station. |

The advantage of JGE is the twitch-based combat. The advantage of EVE Online, come Winter 2009, will be the ability to get out of your ship and walk in stations. Of the two features, I would prefer to walk in stations. This is because socialising becomes important. After a while, you need a reason to play apart from warring. Living in a ship can feel claustrophobic, which is ironic considering you're living in space. Exploring or adventure is important, but I don't know what this is like in JGE yet. |

I'd like to try this game. But how do you buy it? Can you buy it online and download it? Is it in the shops? (I live in the UK). Or do you buy the CD over the internet? |

M.Corp was one of the early pioneers of New Eden after the EveGate closed.
In the five years that have passed since that day, M.Corp have relentlessly sought out the most fearsome fighter pilots, daring entrepreneurs and the keenest industrial minds known in the galaxy. Together, our members have taken M.Corp from it's humble beginnings as a mining and mineral distribution corp and turned it into an industrial powerhouse, backed by a fearsome military ethic.
All M.Corp members are held to high standards of practice, as you will see when you deal with us be it in business or in warfare.
We look forward to meeting you.

In M.Corp, we have a definite team-oriented approach. Our membership includes some of the most experienced and successful players in EVE as well as younger, less experienced pilots who are learning quite fast.
M.Corp offers young and experienced pilots alike some of the best industrial and combat opportunities to be found anywhere:
- Mature Team Player
Are you looking for the next level of game-play with veteran players that will teach and show you the most fun and rewarding PvP Eve has to offer?
Do you think you could be an M.Corp Member?

Actually, I agree with you. It's a pity the lower rating happens just before EVE is about to be sold in shops. |

Excellent review. I think EVE needs to be re-reviewed after the March 10th expansion. It should score more than 8 then. |

EVE Online: Band of Brothers Alliance Disbanded
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/05/09 1:33:52 PM
it's never too late to start playing this game. I've been playing this game since 2003. I have a character with 78 million skill points (5 years old!!!) and an alt with 40 million. The 78 million SP character is a PvE god. The 40 million SP character is a scanning/probing god and trades fairly well. BUT I cannot PvP as well as characters who are 1 year old and who have specialised (in Heavy Assault Cruisers, for example) Also, I cannot manufacture or mine at all. So if you specialise in PvP you could eventually beat me on a 1-to-1 fight. However, this is hypothetical - you rarely get 1-on-1 situations. It is a complex game.

Some Questions About the Whole Situation With BoB

I used to fight along-side BoB. They have big faults, so it could be much worse! |

I'm a very enthusiastic player of Eve. What keeps me enthusiastic is having a goal... Then I planned a way to achieve it... Then I encountered problems...then I had to think of ways to solve them. All this involves intellectual challenge. I love this because in real life I am a clever and tenacious person. |

Originally posted by Elindril You're right, but the more you play Eve the more you socialise and the more political it gets. Ultimately, Eve turns into a game of politics. This could get more intense and obvious with the introduction of ambulation. However, I hope the game becomes more than politics and war in the future. |
