Ah yes Starsider, that ghost of a server.  Sorry, but what a complete waste of time this article is.  Most of these servers, including Starsider don't have the population to even support more than the existing city or two, than build a new one.

Just an aside for the above poster, you need players who need housing to build a city and that is one thing none of these servers have.   So it was not just opinion, it was fact that he stated.

Too late, the horse left the barn a long time ago.

Sorry, the only word I associate with Brad MacQuaid is loser.  Saying he was right about anything is a very long reach.

Interesting, I was not expecting this to release until at the earliest December.  Some nice things in this patch.

Excuse me, Roper sucked the big one with Hellgate.  Even 11 year old Diablo was far better.  Hope this won't turn out bad for Star Trek.

I prefer the free games with item malls.  With subscription based games, I'm always felling that I'm wasting money if I don't play every day.  With free games I can play just when I'm in the mood and I can let it rest for a few weeks when I'm busy with other things.  When I played EQ2, I had to suspend my subscription when I wanted a break.

I'm not into PvP, so I'm not worried about other players buying better stuff than I have.  I've been playing this game in beta and it provides a nice alternative to traditional RPGs.

Well if you avoid subscription games, you are avoiding about 90% of the content in the market.  I have yet to see one of them with even close to the content that most subscription games have.  Hence if you look at most item mall games the length of play for most players is far shorter.   The common player plays about a month or two and the moves on to another game.

So really what you are doing is not wasting money, but missing content.

Sorry, but the chances of Darkfall releasing this year and slim and none.  Anyone who thinks differently is depending on blind faith from a firm that has consistently NEVER met an announced date. Supposedly,  they are still in a very limited closed beta, if a game actually exists, because at this point NO ONE has ever seen the actual game.

Sorry if I seem a bit skeptical, but when an outfit like Adventurine cries wolf as many times as they have without ever showing the game or following through on a announced date, it is almost mandatory to be leary of anything they say.

They have never announced an official release or beta date.

There is recent footage of them playing the game for almost half an hour, plus 7 other gameplay videos and over 620 screenshots.

You fail.

Excuse me, if you want to blindly believe that a company that has consistently failed to allow any outsider to actually play the game and report on it, actually has a playable game you are truely overly trusting.  All those videos only show what they want you to see.  It is so easy to stage video of what you know as working in the game and then put it on the web.   You can do that with any game that is years from release.

If they have such a great game then why are they hiding it?  Huh?  The only reason to hide anything, especially in this industry, is if you have something to hide.    So far Adventurine has done nothing to make us trust them.  They are basically good at hype and disinformation, beyond that who knows.

Personally I would love to see one of these Indie firms put out something worthwhile.  The big gorilla's in this industry won't budge from the Wow mold and will only change if someone small takes a chance and succeeds.

Let a known reviewer actually play the game and report on the state of the game.  Until then, this game will continue to be the king of Vaporware.

After reviewing their selection of keyboards, I think most of these keyboards are intended more for specialized applications rather than gaming.  I think they would be better to advertise on sites where their keyboards would be more useful, although the first keyboard strip would be very helpful in gaming.

Gee, no one complaining about this class not fitting in with the lore which it does very nicely.

I do agree that holding aggro with this class is an adventure, but then again, a poor party with players who are not aware of how to play in a party should not be handed the I win button either.

Well we will see on Nov 10th, so far all we have is a lot of hot air from Adventurine.  Of course they are really good at the hot air, guess we will have to wait and see if they are good at anything else.

Chances of a 2008 release are about slim and none right now.   I still can't understand why they have not let someone do a review on the game.  I mean, come on, if the game is that close to release it can't be that bad that they have to hide it from the press.

Oh and the only trolls in this thread are those posting on blind faith that there actually is a Darkfall game since virtually no one has seen it or played it.

Well as more and more tools get written to write MMO's the cost of making them will come down some.  This will give the indie companies a chance.  It is only  a matter of time before one hits the big time.  As to Darkfall, trying to do too much with a small team pretty much relegates this game to a real long shot.   Some of the other probably have a better chance.

It is nice, they almost have the game out of beta stage now, oh yeah but they have been charging people to beta test this game and even with all the patches, there is still little to do at end game.

So yeah, some of you are having fun leveling up and that is good, games are supposed to be fun, but don't be disappointed when you get your character to 80 and find nothing to do.

Xfire is strictly for the FPS crowd.  There is just no actual reason for a MMO player to use it.

Graphics does not determine how good a game is, content and gameplay are the most important factors.  Graphics can help, but not hinder a MMO.

Case law has already pretty much made many provisions of Eula's non binding.  Anyone saying it is 100% binding is clueless when it comes to contracts and the law.   Consumer protection laws for one override many Eula provisions.

That said, I am glad they corrected themselves on such an absurd policy, although I still intend to boycott EA games.  Even SOE is head and shoulders above EA when it comes to how they treat their customers.

Aha, the item mall is operational and looks quite expensive.  Now we will see how free this game is.

It is a mechwar game, more like a FPS with some MMO features.

Go with Requiem.

Excuse me, Requiem is NOT free to play.  There are so many restrictions on the free to play accounts they are really just unending trial accounts.

I would go with Runes of Magic, seems to be one of the better ones upcoming.
