Nice to know they are eventually going to make yellow items available to the free to play set. Still my characters are parked until I can at least use yellow. After 50 everyone who groups is doing the extra hard levels which with blue items is a complete waste of time. Many groups won't even take you along. Sure you can solo at that level on the easy levels, just gets beyond boring do this. It is an online game, meant to play with others. Next time before you write silly criticisms, maybe you should be smart and think it through first. |

This game is almost an exact copy of LostChaos and has no redeeming qualities. Just another factory MMO with little content. |

What's the cause of population loss?

Great post Julian, pretty much covers it all. |

Ah since it is not in Beta, how in the world do you have any idea what it looks like or plays for that matter? Usually if they are close to Beta they start showing it privately at shows. So far they have not done that. Does not make sense to ignore the free publicity you get from shows, so my take it is just not ready for Beta yet. |

Whining about pve in Eve is like going to an eye doctor and complaining about your feet. If you love pve, Eve is not really the game for you. CCP puts pve in the game for ways to supplement your income, it is not intended to be the main focus of the game. |

Play past lvl 10 before you bash this game (a constructive review)

Just curious did the OP take the time to go to school or do you just play video games all day? That has to be one of the more poorly written posts on this board. As to the article, if you like the no customization, everyone wears the same armor at a certain level MMO, there are a ton out there, not just this one. Me, I like difference. This is just another game from the MMO factory, there is nothing redeeming in it at all from my perspective. Personally I can't tell the difference any more from any of these Asian MMO's they all look and play the same. |

Hellgate London? that is ludicrous, it is not even out yet and not even a MMO either. The only answer here is Wow, easy to learn and play. |

Vista, like any new operating system has continual driver problems. If you are buying all new hardware and software, it should not be too much of a problem. Far as I am concerned there is just zero reason at this point in time to upgrade. Vista offers no features that are must have. Even DX10 is not clear winner, the differences between DX9 and DX10 visually are minimal. The only games that are actually doing strictly DX10 development are Microsoft supported games, no other developer would be that dumb. I bought a new system and after some driver problems, I wiped Vista and reinstalled XP. I have had zero problems since and my system runs better in my opinion. Eventually Microsoft will get all the bugs out, right now, I would not recommend Vista to anyone, it is just not ready for public consumption. |

Interesting article about the gaming industry, Especially the last paragraph

Wow took the concept of the fantasy MMO, made it easy to play, with minimal penalties. Basically what most of the other developers were missing. Even if it were not from Blizzard it would still be the market leader, there is nothing on the market even close to what it offers people. The only close competition is EQ2 which still to this day even has too high PC requirements for many. So yes, your sig is quite incorrect from my point of view. |

Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning: Battle at the Gates of Ekrund
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/03/07 2:54:12 PM
As GW ripped off the entire concept of War from Tolkien and other fantasy writers who cares? War is not a copy of anything nor is Wow. There have been plenty of fantasy writers any of these games could have borrowed concepts from them, it really does not make any difference whatsoever. My biggest concern of War is since it was originally a board game, how are they going to meld those rulesets into a MMO without ruining it? Notice turbine had a very difficult time with D&D for that very same reason and hence DDO did not turn out like many of us expected. The Mythic people are not known as forward thinkers either.. |

Mythic has been that way since day one. Mark Jacobs has always talked with a forked tongue, promise one thing do another. So many people get upset at Sony for NGE, yet Mythic self destroyed their game with an expansion all followed by numerous promises to fix said mess, all of course lies. Finally after the game was in the throws of collapse they tried including classic servers. DAoC to this day probably has the most imbalanced pvp in any game. They have far too many classes to even make an attempt at any kind of balance. Mark Jacobs and Smedley are two of a kind, never trust what either says to your detriment. |

30 days is going to make it ready? Been in the business too long to believe that. Probably get the most serious bugs and get the rest later. Does not sound good for Sir Richard. I think he might end up eatting his words on this one. A shame really. |

Sorry I think many of you do not understand what vaporware is. It does not mean that the game does not exist, it just means that the game has been in production for a very long time and has no forseeable production date, both conditions Darkfall meets admirably. Not only have they not commited to any dates, they have never even privately shown it at any of the shows. So not even the insiders are aware of the game beyond a few dev journals. Believe it or not, there are a lot of games that have been announced that eventually end up never being produced. Let's hope that Darkfall is not one of them. |

I think even 2009 is optimistic, these games are not easily nor quickly made. |

Why no Hellgate: London section yet?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/02/07 12:09:14 PM
How many of you blind people don't understand. It has no common area at all, it can't be a MMO. Everything is instance driven. In Guildwars you have a common area where you can meet others on line, no such thing in Hellgate, it is exactly like Diablo. Hence it is most definitely NOT a MMO! |

If you used a credit card recently to extend, all you do is dispute the charge with your bank, banks don't like companies that fold. |

Another strike against this game. Can't imagine they don't understand what a disaster the DAoC initiative of letting vets start at 20 was. The more I read about this game the more I want to completely avoid it. |

Star Wars Galaxies: Collectable Collectables
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/02/07 11:56:58 AM
They took an excellent skill system and made a hokey class system out of it. This game is still the biggist POS ever foisted on a playerbase bar none. The game is a slim shadow of what it was and no matter how you try to dress it up, it will still be an extremely weak contender in this marketplace. What an extreme waste of dev funds. |

Star Wars Galaxies: Smedley Apologizes for NGE

The sad thing is, it only took him 3 years to admit to such. He also forgets to mention most of the development staff were very much opposed to the change too.

Give me a break, not using Macros huh? And we should take your word for it then, lol. The problem with games like this, they recieve so little support from the developers that just about anything goes. Macroing is extremely common because the producers are not interested in paying for the support people to control such. If you decide to play this game, expect that others will be abusing the rules extensively. |
