I personally prefer druid with monk

 

advantages of druid

- heals

- transportation,  sow and druid portals  (evac with warden, group invis with fury)

- buffs

 

also I recommend getting off that island  (now even) and making a beeline for Timorous Deep

Just started messing with the game after stationpass purchase. I like a lot of aspects. Diplomacy..crafting. Some of the graphics and animations. Some of the quest designs..on the island, at least. Do the graphics get better after the island?...After all the mention and talk of how awesome the graphics were...I was a bit let down. I have i7 cpu 4 gig ram and 9800gt...get around 29-60 fps...on ultra/high settings...It runs smooth(occasonal hiccup) ..but just doesn't look as good as I had expected. Am I being fair..or..? I was hoping this would be the game I was looking for...but graphically...I prefer EQ2 or LotRO on ultra settings. I'll still give it a chance...but..any ideas..settings I may be missing..anything?

Thanks for the info all...I am getting Verizon fios(currently have cable/roadrunner)...they will set up a wireless network (I think they use d-links). They won't be installing for a while so I got a cheap $40 D-link dir-615 and and $20 (?)1320 d-link adapter...I think the adapter only G tho. Messed with the channels and get about 32-45% signal...gaming is great..no problems during gaming. ...Sometimes it goes wonky and I have to mess with router config...or card antennae..but good otherwise. I don't know if Verizons setup will be better..hell....free router and adapter...so.....To everyone...thanks again for the advice.

I paid for the station pass and downloaded all the games...started playing this last night. It was really enjoyable..the graphics were really great...there were about 10 people on the newbie island at most times..but there was always another player in sight ..so it seemed like more. I chose a heavy server and have yet to go to the mainland. We'll see how that goes. I was pleasantly surprised...I played vanguard..and tho I liked it..I expected more from the graphics...I have ultra high settings and I still don't think most of the game is as pleasing to the eye as EQ2...tho i like vanguards crafting and diplomacy. I played WOW for last three years and just don't understand why EQ2 doesn't have a much larger following. I was really impressed.

Let them do what they must...I am looking forward to playing TCoS..but honestly...there is some other games that can be played in the meantime. Bitching about it will not speed up progress. Do some people actually think Acclaim is sitting on profit potential on purpose? That, just because  "H4RDc0r3G4m3r666" whines how unfair it is that he can't play while fellow gamers overseas can, Acclaim will suddenly release the game. This is where I can really appreciate Darkfall enthusiasts complete and utter patience.

Heh, that's been one of my gripes with MMOs for years.  When everyone's a hero, no one is.  So, IMHO, they should focus more on making the mundane fun, rather than trying to trick players into feeling like a single-player style hero.

 

Exactly...reminds me of an old independent comic called "NormalMan"...where everyone on the planet has superpowers except one man...and everyone was in awe of him....or another comic where everyone has powers called "TOP 10"..which is great....anyway...still want to try this game...and I will soon.

Otherwise(like WoW, which I play) the living world would be like 9 tenths Adventurers/heroes...kinda silly. It would be like ...almost everyone in the world being a Rock Star..so everytime you go to  McDonalds ...the only non-famous people are the employees....and with my luck..me.

No...not some powerful new weapon. I have my settings with dx10 on dynamic shadows and get alot of artifacts and flickering in the shadows...It's ok on basic shadows but looks so much better with dynamic. Anyone know of a cure?...someone told me that downgrading to 178.25 Drivers (Nvidia 9800gt) works..but won't that affect other games? Help?

Anyone know if  they are handing out  beards and tophats for lincolns birthday?

lol....I liked the game when I played it...don't remember running into any cherubesque Ewoks though...and I could barely find the resources to make a light sabre...much less a fountain of chocolate. This is pretty lame.

I think both this and DCUO look good...in their own way. Who knows which will be better.

I think these changes are a good thing. COX has a dual spec option  that was recently added...I thought it worked very well. I can imagine it would be no different with WoW.  I do think they should allow dual spec from the beginning...if its too complicated for some then they should just go with one spec until they feel they are ready to go for two.
