I am probably the most happiest person in the world atm that $OE shut down SWG, up until I found out the reason why it was shut down.  In an interview $med did with I think Massively (I'll post the link when I find it), $med mentioned he had a conversation with LA adn they agreed that SWG should be shut down.

What that means to me is that LA didn't want two competing products on the market and SWG was the obvious choice to be cut.  I just can't help but think what will happen in five years, assuming I really get into SW:TOR and am still playing.  What will happen when it gets old and subs are a shell of what they used to be?  Does this mean, LA will start another MMO and eventually cut SW:TOR for a better younger model?

What I'm getting at is, $OE should have been the one to give up on SWG and not LA; although it is totally in LA's own right to kill the rights to the game.  I'm saying what if at one point SW:TOR only has 10k players who are die-hard fans of the game and LA wants more with a newer game?

I just hope it doesn't happen, but it's always going to be in the back of my head while I play TOR.

EDIT: inserting link to the interview

Alot of people lost their game, dunno why you're happy... Also in 5 years if there IS a better and younger model, why the fvck will you still be playing the same old game?

MILF ?

The character models looks just fine.... But am i the only one who's bothered by the completely blank stare of the human characters? I'm not asking for Half life 2 facial animations but i'd expect at least a little bit of a frown on that ranger in the last screenshot...

Hes consintrateing. if you are trying to stay alive you dont consitrate on frowning you  remain calm and put up your defense, which he is doing, bounceing all the attacks back "and thats how its done"

That's a load of crap. It would help a LOT if the characters had facial animations. They aren't even hard to do, considering they put them in for the emotes. Why can't i look angry when i swing a sword? Or have a feeling of satisfaction on my face after a healing potion? I mean it's a little thing, bit it help a ton for the immersion.

Also it's concentrating. Seriously.

Ok let's pretend that my higher post count wins me a key here :D No but seriously, i would like a key also. If you can please send me one here on the website or on gotiniqui@yahoo.com Thanks!

May i please have a key? Send one here or on gotiniqui@yahoo.com Really looking forward to the game!

I would like a key send it here via pm or on gotiniqui@yahoo.com Thanks!

Key please

I know this is kind of a weird request, but I'm looking for a game where voice is rarely used. The reason for this I am shy! I played lotro and there is in game voice that is very hard to ignore/not use in party. Aion almost every legion requires vent. WoW only end game requires vent. < I kinda liked that about wow.

Is there a game coming out, ffxiv or gw2? anything with little to no voice use?

How come you're shy, it's on the internet people don't know who you are they don't even care so

don't be shy just talk. Maybe your voice is weird?

Alliance Of Valiant Arms. It's better than all the ones mentioned here for sure. (graphics and gameplay wise)

Its easy :

Anet and GW2 devs are not trying to make themselves huge hype to sell boxes. They are trying to make the bestt MMO...It is all about passion to make an awesome game, not money. Sure you would say its all bussiness but GW2 devs know what theyre doing so the money will surely come (6millions of sold copies of GW1 indicates that a lot of players is expecting the second one)

Actually kudos to Anet team that they showed their middle finger to E3;))

Yeah why would they think about making more money doing their job, they just want whats best for us, the complete strangers.

Wait...

I know, I know, ridiculous claim, but hear me out.  In the raw sense of the term "MMORPG", yes WoW and its ilk fall into that category.

But where the glaring difference comes in, is in the ideals of what an MMO should be.  MMOs, since their inception have really been pushing the boundaries with gameplay and bridging the gap between player and developer.  These worlds, embodied in these games, exist to be conquered by the playerbase.  It started with adventuring together in groups, to solving puzzles together, defeating bosses together.  Then comes along crafting, social scheduling, interaction with different groups (guild politics), and PvP.

Every new game, every different feature is pushing this genre forward by giving the player more power, more custimization, more individuality among different game types.

An MMORPG is a game that exists solely as a world for players to shape.  Player interaction between themselves, the game world, and each other are integral to what makes an MMO an MMO.

Games like WoW and other PVE focused games are infantile MMOs, not TRUE MMOs.  The sandbox games are the closest.   Games like EVE, Darkfall, Wurm, Love, etc.  allow the players to change the course of the game.  Individuals, not developers.  YES there can be story in a sandbox, WHY is there no hybrid MMO.  With EVE's reintroduction to live events putting more steps into advancing stories depending on player input, we are taking mosre steps to advance the culture of MMOs and player involvement.

This is what makes an MMO an MMO, the players with the power.

Hey? Shut up.

But in all seriousness, you are completely wrong and i'm not gona bother pointing out where everyone already saw it. And i don't even like WoW.

i lold

What has your new graphic card played? What does it preffer? WoW is pretty popular, it could try that.

epic thread

Hi everyone,

I came here to research a new game for my son (aka The Monk, age 4) and myself (aka The Mom, age 41) to play together.  I'm reading and researching and overwhelmed, so I thought I'd ask you for suggestions.  We currently are big fans of Wizard 101 but at level 40 or so, we are getting kind of bored and are looking for something new to play.

Things we are looking for in a game:

1)  Something which does not require a ton of reading to play.  While we do play together, and I read for him, and he can read some himself, he doesn't enjoy a game that requires me to read a ton.  We were trying out Dragonica tonight and it was just too much reading of teeny tiny print for me to make dinner while he played.

2)  Fighting.  The Monk wants to fight.  He is his fathers son

3)  Questing.  The Mom wants to quest.

4)  Something we can play casually but still have fun.  He's four, he's not allowed to play that much and Im a mom and don't have a ton of time to play without him.

5)  Something where we can do solo play most of the time.  I'm happy to jump in and help people with quests etc, but we aren't in a position to commit to being a part of a group that meets every night from 7-9.   So, especially in the early levels, we need to be able to play by ourselves or with some really loose associations wtih people who just happen to be online at the same time we are.  We do enjoy that other players are real people and do often help other players in wizard 101 but often buy henchmen instead of waiting around to find someone to help us do a quest that really needs assistance.

6)  The monk likes the following things so any of them would be great:  wizards, magic, the undead,  knights, monsters/creatures, pets/animals, space, aliens, robots (he's my geek in training).

7)  The monk is abnormally unafraid of scary monsters.  Monsters are no problem.

8) .  We'd like to be able to customize our character a little. Guilds, races, variety of people/creatures might be something the Monk would like.

9)  A good story.  We often "play" Wizard 101 in the car on the way to school, where we are characters in that world. I'd like a game where we can take enough away from it that its something we can pretend later.

10)  We are happy to pay for the right game.

Things we do NOT care about: PVP (never done it), Graphics (3d would be nice, but other than that..) , kid controls (I'm right there, he's safe, and heck, he can't read those kind of words anyway)

I'm currently considering Bright Shadows, Everquest (played that before he was born), Guild Wars, Dungeons and Dragons Online but your suggestions are VERY welcome!!

Thanks so much for reading and for your help!!

If you cant play Dragonica together (whitch i think was just a button mashing side scrolling mmo) i dont know what. Just skip the text lol.

Stop calling your son The Monk its weird.

Sweden is the land of those things? When did that happen...

Are you looking forward to Spellborn V. 2.0? Let us know in the comments below!

No. No we aren't.

Lol.

We're really not though.

I said "flame away" because if i myself saw someone post such profanity and insult the genre i like, it would be a normal reaction to flame him.

Anyway, when Ultima came out it was awesome and unbelievable. After a few months of playing it i was just imagining the stuff comming out in the later years, all the possibilities of the genre and how it can expand.

Boy was i wrong. Ok seriously, i think this was the biggest leap backwards in THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD! Every year that passed, an MMORPG allowed us less and less to do in it's game world. Now we have the terms "theme park" and "sandbox" That's also bullshit. It shouldn't be like that, Ultima came out so many years ago and did it right, it should have only expanded from there, not divide and allow us this and that.

English (as you can probably tell) is not my native language, so i think i'm blabbering and can't express my point correctly, so i'll just stop. It felt good to get it off my chest in the first post, been meaning to do that in a long time but i kept hoping it would get better.
