Oh and ofcoarse I will watch those futurama and simpsons re-runs and I will watch some Family guy and American Dad (maybe not  the highest calibur of comedy for the last 2, on example can be the fat guy strangler ep of family guy).

Aside from BSG, SG:A, and maybe Lost if you consider that Sci-fi... there aren't too many other good Sci-fi shows on TV. Soon there will be a total lack.

Well the world isn't fair, shows come and go, but  Stargate Atlantis is a show that I couldnt stand to loose after SG-1 was canceled, What show would I turn to for my sci-fi genre dose. So guys just incase Atlantis falls through the floor boards help me pick a new show to watch. So keep posting and I'll watch this thread.

not exactly the best engine in the world.. so unless they are making a new engine for firefly then i dont hold any hope in that :( sadly

True that this game is gonna rock,  and lets hope they don't let the hardcore fans and casual gamers down.

True, to be Immortalized,  famous or even infamous without harming anyone is cool,

And  it doesn't matter if the game sucks at least it will be a modern day stargate game that was actually released.

When change comes way by means of a lobotomy then I'm sure people are going to be unhappy. I for one think change is good when it's positive. Maybe we need a change in writer of this column, as that sounds positive to me.

 

The best change John Smedley could offer to SOE or to the MMO industry is to exit both.

They could easily do classic servers without "unfairly" taking the NGE away from the 25 people who would still play it the day after they opened.  There isn't a rational argument against Pre-NGE servers because it's the fairest option. 

Of course the real reasons why they don't are twofold:

1. Smed and company would be embarassed because ANY opening of classic servers WILL result in a de facto rollback because the NGE servers will empty.  Completely.  They simply won't risk that.

2. The (current) SWG Dev team isn't capable of maintaining an online version of rock-paper-scissors much less a complex skills based MMO.

I think it is good to know how they are developing the game, some great questions were asked and there were some intriguing responses were given.... I wish I didn't have to school shortly before the chat,  but still thank you too whoever asked the question, answered the questions and the person or people who posted the chat transcript.
