It pains my soul when people beg for more hype. Hype is BAD, mmmkay? You already know about the game, and they're not going to tell you anything at E3 that can't be handled in a press release. Why is it so important to you that they waste a bunch of money and effort on a stupid trade show? |

Given the choice between developers who waste their time hyping a game to whiny forum-dwellers with entitlement addictions, and developers who mainly interact with the people who are actually IN THE BETA (i.e, Koreans in the case of Aion), I know which I favor. |

Sorry if I find your comment a bit funny as if grind is so much more fun. Wow is certainly not perfect, nor will this new expansion be either, but when you stack it up against other games, it just owns them. So go enjoy the other games you like and have fun. Attempting to riducule Blizzard or Wow is an effort in the ridiculous. It just makes you look like a wanna be. Wow is not for everyone, but it certainly satisfies most of the players in this market far better than anything else out there. Someday one of the development companies will wake up and provide a real challenge to Wow, until then it is in fact the 800 lbs gorilla. Dude, he said he liked TBC. There have been far more negative posts about WoW; Ugottawantit's was pretty upbeat in comparison to most. Coupled with a bit of ignorance about the design direction of Aion, this reaction sounds even worse than a typical knee-jerk fanboi defense rant. |

I say make a toggle power that turns all Knockback effects against your target into Knockdown. That way, if you are a whiny melee character who cries everytime he has to chase a knockback, you can spent some points on this power and use it whenever you are teamed up with a knocker-backer. So now you can't whine about it because it's no one's fault but your own if you don't take the KB-dampening power. |

Producers don't release damage control "please don't quit" letters for games that are "growing." |

Frankly, I expected to see the damage control start a little sooner. When you see the developers start begging you to "hang in there" or "give it another chance," you know it's time to move on. |

I've given up MMOs, but not for Diablo 3. Diablo games are more mindless and grindy than any MMO I've ever played. I'll return to the MMO genre when someone finally gets it right. Or maybe I'll play D&D 4E over the Internets. If that actually works smoothly, my MMO days are ancient history. |

For those who say you'd rather they delay the game than release without the cities and classes, here's what you do: Stop whining. Pretend they are taking your advice. Don't buy the game when it is released. If they have added the cities and classes by next summer, buy the game then. (Actually, you'll probably be back in this same position by then either way, falling in love with games that don't exist yet and hating everything that is actually real. But to each his own.) |

I will always vote for fewer things done well over more things done poorly. If you disagree, you should go back in time and play launch versions of Vanguard and Horizons. |

LOLZ The "Background" summary at the end shows you exactly how much the author really knows about his subject matter: Nothing about anything that isn't EverQuest. You really ought to put the background up front so we'll know not to take you seriously and won't waste our time reading your uninformed crap. |

Odin's Beard, people. It seems to be time for another vocabulary lesson! "Capitol" with an O is used only when referring to the building (not the city) where a legislative body meets. (And when you are talking about the one in Washington, D.C., it should be capitalized.) "Capital" with an A is for everything else: cities, letters, an idea -- everything else. Unless the political systems in WAR are far more advanced than they've let on, the word "capitol" with an O is generally unwarranted.

This is not a general guide to MMOGs at all. The advice on character creation alone is specific to a very specific few games. There are quite a few MMOGs for which this guide is totally meaningless. |

Correction: that demand exists within the small segment of this small community represented by the select few boards within MMORPG.com you choose to read. In other words, a gnat's eyebrow. |

A first for Cryptic, and one of very few examples in the entire MMO genre, I would wager. Of all the MMOs I've played, I'd believe this had been done -- maybe -- for WoW. Most of the others were obviously NEVER played by the employees for "fun factor" prior to release. |

I'd be happy if someone would just release a decent new single-player tactical RPG. Making it an MMO does not make me want to play it more. If the game is great enough to overcome the fact that it's been forced into a horribly inappropriate genre, I might try it, I guess. But seriously, turn-based MMO? Bleh. |

You can't go by WoW's example because WoW is not a PvP-centered game. Even if you're on a PvP server, the PvE nature of the game skews the numbers. In games that are more purely PvP, more players usually gravitate toward the side that seems more "badass." This is assuming there aren't balance issues that might give one side an obvious tactical advantage. |

This might be funny if any of those games had ever actually had the intention of "beating" WoW. But they didn't, so it's really only funny to fanbois. Well, I suspect Garriott may have had the hubris to think TR could compete, before beta anyway. But not the others. |
