lol wow.  only in Darkfall forums will you find the trolls more intelligent than the fanbois. . .

Aragon100, why is it necessary for me to post facts that have already been posted about 893, 339 times before?  I'm simply arguing against your logic that Darkfall has been in development for only 5 years.  I'm saying that Darkfall has promised beta and release so many times that by now they should have lost all credibility to any sane gamer.  That you still have faith in this game is fine.  That you twist facts around to validate your faith in this game is not.  Believe it or not, i wanna see this game released just as much as you do.  I just won't believe it til i see it.  Until then i'm just having fun poking holes in peoples logic

The borderkingdom part has potential for being meaningful yet Aventurine choose not to show us what would be one of the best features of the game ? Why ?

How cool woulden't it be to conquer battlekeeps with 50-100 of your closest friends ? Heck, they don't even have to be friends :) And yet they fail to invite people to play. I have a theory that Aventurine do not have the talent nor interest to pull off massive PvP. DarkFall could be a splendid PvP game I'm sure but an insult to those that hardcore PvP. We have seen Nothing so far of the PvP.

Notice with some minor changes to your statement, it starts to look very familiar? When you take a look outside of the blind fanboy faith, many people who like the idea of DF ask very similar questions.

LOL, i couldn't have said it better myself

LOL - some interesting logic there. So if PvP weekend is not a valid base to make conclusions on the total game, then the game is not very limited ?

How does that NOT make sense?  Obviously it isn't very limited if all you were shown was a glimpse of the game during PvP weekend.

 DUH

Um..if you only see a part of something, you cannot make assumptions on the whole thing.

Wait what?  Whoa hold on there, you mean to tell me i can't make any assumptions about AoC because i haven't seen it?  Okay i suppose that makes sense . . . except for the part where you run around regurgitating claims about Darkfall since by your own rationale you've obviously personally seen and played every aspect of the game.

One needs look no further than Darkfall's fanbase to understand how little substance this 'game' actually has.  Take this thread for instance- what is it about?  A Darkfall fan has found an obscure 2-year old 'review' of the 'game' and are touting it as new information, all the while congratulating each other and slapping each other on the back for a job well done.  And when confronted with the fact that this info is quite dated and ultimately irrelavant how do they respond?  "Well, it's new to me . . ."

Such desperate straw-grasping is indicative of one thing: delusion

But on the plus side, it is very amusing to watch these fanbois running around like chickens with their heads cut off grabbing onto anything, ANYTHING, that might justify said delusion.  It's why i come here after all

And you are here because ? Ah yes a Anti-Fanboi I am not sure who is worse a fanatic or an Atheist.

I'm here because i have just as much a right to speak against Darkfall as you do defending it.  It's a simple matter of expressing opinion.  You can do it, and so can i.  See how that works now?  Incidentally, you have my deepest pity that you needed such a basic concept explained to you, though you're far from the first person i've had to educate, and likely won't be the last.  Isn't freedom of speech wonderful?

My beef with Darkfall is the blatant lies Adventurine has fed us over the past 7 years regarding their 'game'.  Promises on top of promises, yet in the end nothing delivered.  If they simply said "We're very limited on funds so this may take a while, but we'll keep you posted on what we're doing so far." i would understand, but instead we're fed crap like "We could have open beta tomorrow if we wanted to."  Also, the fact that they're keeping everything so hush-hush is in itself pretty suspicious.  Which brings me to my second point . . .

They're obviously not interested in trying to find serious financial support for their 'game'.  If they were, they would be a bit more open about what they're trying to accomplish with this, maybe at least try to garner some publicity in the hopes of attracting a financier.  But no, instead they lurk in the shadows throwing out occasional redundant tidbits every now and then in order to pacify the masses?  Let a small handful of obscure people see their work, but not allow a well known and reputable establishment (Gamespot, PC Gamer, etc) have a peek?  Sorry, but it just doesn't add up.

People who want to believe in this 'game' will convince themselves of it's veracity despite any and all evidence to the contrary.  And though i too would like to see it release, i'm a bit more objective.  Given all the information about this 'game' (or lack of information, as is more often the case) over the years, i can only conclude that Darkfall is a farce.  Quite franky i'm surprised it still has as much of a following as it does.  But hey, there's a sucker born every minute . . .

Oh i wouldn't go so far as to say it was a lame attempt.  I did get some reaction from my statements after all.  Yes i know, the truth hurts.  Especially so with DF fans. . .

So it seems AoC fans are getting open beta next month, while DF fans are getting . . . hmm, the same ol song and dance?

hmm, how shall we've put it.

Just because Bruce likes that hot blondie over there, but he can have her yet, because she is busy. Does that mean he must take Rob, the hairy male in leather outfit bending over the table?

Umm, is that the new english?

I hope not, but it's not my first language. But I guess you speak several language?

And was that the only response you'll manage to propose? failure.

I'm simply pointing out that the whole "AoC is just as much vaporware as DF so neener-neener" argument has just been shot down, much like every other argument you tards try to mount in defense of your 'game'.  AoC: substance. DF: vapor.  Seggallion: 0.  deucallion: i lost count at about 698, 322, 910. Of course if i were a DF fan, i'd be bitter and resentful too.  It must suck being wrong all the time

No because just like Age of Conan , Warhammer is a credible product being play tested by tons of people

Could that be because Warhammer is in public beta while Darkfall is in closed internal alpha/beta?

Again you are comparing different products that are in different stages of their development cycle.

And Aventurine isn't credible because .... ?

I can name a company that released a successful MMORPG straight off the bat without ANY gaming development history. CCP hf - the developers behind EVE Online.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, yadda. What are the vapourware trolls going to do after Darkfall reaches open beta I wonder? Oh, that's right! They'll join beta and claim to have been followers all along!

Silly me.

Actually, judging on how bent on attacking Darkfall many of them are, they'll change their tune from "vaporware!" to "this game sucks!".  There won't be any pleasing them, even if people are playing beta.  I've given up trying to figure out why they come back day after day and continue spewing the same arguments over and over.  If, for some strange reason, you think it would be terrible if an unknown developer came onto the scene and made a name for itself, that's your opinion.  It's beyond me as to why that would be so wrong, but it's a valid opinion.  But I would love to know why threads like this are made day in and out.

At least it keeps this forum relatively active.

I cry vaporware because i've been following Darkfall since about 2000, and every single decision the devs have made regarding this 'game' makes absolutely no sense at all.  Darkfalls history has long since passed the point of reason.  Wishful thinking on the part of the fans keeps this thing going, nothing more.   Truth be told, i would love to see this 'game' release!   I'm as tired of these uninspired, re-hatched carebear MMOs as the next guy.  It's why i followed this game in the first place.  But things have just gotten ridiculous, this 'game' has ZERO credibility.  But hey, if i'm wrong, i'm not too proud to admit it.  Hell it's win/win for me :  i get to bask in the satisfaction of saying "i told you so" to all you brainless fanboys, or i get a game that will finally interest me.

But i'm not wrong.

Somewhere, a small group of people (maybe even one person) are laughing their asses off.

And you came here to defend the immaturity just so they can keep on going with the flaming. But on the otherside, your purpose at every board is to 'be a badass' and tell everyone how worthless everything is and how right you are. Doesn't matter wich game it is.

Keeps me wonder is some school-psychologist ordinate students to raise their self esteem at these boards.

Badass?  To inflate my ego?  On a MMO forum?  Are you serious?

Please, if i wanted an inflated ego i could go pump steroids and beat my wife. . . or something.  No, i my purpose here is to simply call out stupidity as i see it.  And there are countless people on these boards whom i have never mocked or verbally abused in any way, because they all post valid points.  Incidentally, all my points are accurate as well.  Everything i've said about Darkfall can be validated.  So yes, i am right.  Not because of my ego, but simply because i am.

So while you Darkfall stooges are splitting hairs and re-hashing the same half-baked arguments in a vain attempt to defend your phantom of a game, i'm going to just sit back and continue to enjoy my laugh . . .

5 years of developing summer 2008, get some facts right til next time. Very good detailed developer journals describing the overall game development, details ingame, videos of just about every aspect of the game, screenies showing good progress graphic-wise and updates coming closer and closer is something very promising. Game is just about ready you know? Ahh you didnt know, well thats what i thought when i read your BS rant above.=) Have a good day.

Ahh a correction is indeed in order.  Allow me to rectify:

Somewhere, a small group of people (maybe even one person), as well as myself, are laughing their asses off.

Thats just it.  Thanks to Boll, we equate game-inspired movies to heaping piles of wasted time.  I'm of the opinion that quite a few games, if done correctly, would make great movies.  Resident Evil is an obvious one (the movies are sub-par, but not nearly as bad as Bolls crap).  But also there is Halo, Bioshock, heck even Everquest could be a good fantasy movie.  I just think that anything worth doing is worth doing well.  And the fact that Boll is so full of himself that he actually thinks he makes good movies just grates horribly on my delicate sensibilities.

I realize that alot of people won't care one way or another if Boll was gang-raped by a pack of rhinoceros.  This thread is for those folk that do

Yes!  Another useless speculation/hype/gossip thread!  Me next me next!

I don't like the red colouring in AoC.  Personally, I think it more closely resembles a vivid puce, or perhaps a pastel magenta.  There's no way in Hades that AoC can hope to succeed until they get their colouring right!  I mean c'mon, who wants to see burnt orange blood flying across the screen as we hack our foes down?  Do we really want our gore to hearken to something out of a 70s horror film?  Please.  We're MMOers.  We are the technological elite.  We are the alpha and omega.  Even Chuck Norris fears us.

So how about we start expecting a little more out of the games we pour our heart and souls into (cuz Lawrd knows we're not welcome anywhere else, the dregs of society that we are)?  So, anyone else think that sorry excuse for The Colour of Life will be the downfall of this most drooled over MMO?

Ewe Boll, that craptastic egomaniacal douchewad anathema has publicly stated that if 1 million people sign a petition demanding his resignation, he will comply!

For those of you that don't know who this man is, allow me to enlighten you.  Ewe Boll is an infamous director/writer/producer of movies based from popular video games.  He brought us such gems as House of the Dead, Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark, and most recently, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.  His infamy comes from the fact that not only do these movies make a mockery of anything even vaguely resembling entertainment, but also from his utter refusal to admit that his movies are anything less than shining examples of game-to-silver screen masterpieces.

For those of us that cringe every time we hear of a new Ewe Boll release, this is our chance to shut him down for good.  As of this writing, he has almost 100 thousand signatures.  If you as fed up with this gomer as i am, you can read about this glorious event here: film.guardian.co.uk/news/story/0,,2271690,00.html

To sign the petition, for the greater good of both video games and feature films, click here : www.petitiononline.com/RRH53888/petition.html
