I think SiL, like CCP, is one of those rare breed of developers that believe in the game they are making and will support it right down the line. They feel like they are making SB because they want a game like it is, not because some accountant tells them to generate X37674940 subs.

I totally agree with you. I play CCP's Eveonline and I have been waiting for the release of TCOS for about 2 or more years now. I wan in S.I.L's CB 3 testing and I loved the game. now that it is released. I have been enjoying my favorite two games from developers that live and breath the games they design!

Go CCP and S.I.L!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've said it a hundred times before and I guess I'll have to say it again.  There is only one 'WoW-Killer' and that is Blizzard.

I second that. The wow-killer will be blizz. Tired of people trying to compare all mmos with wow. In this case you would be trying to compare apples with oranges.

For those that have made comments about the PVP system and the game lacking arena PVP you may want to read this: https://eu-players.tcos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3770

Also, about loss of PeP ranks is not an issue you can play the game without PeP. Plus while in battle you boost the stastics with abilities anyway.

So if you don't want to lose PeP, then I guess your a want to be ganker that will not gank in this game. I think PVP should have some kind of cost to it... It gets the heart pumping!

Great game by the way....

If you even know about the game, yet even tried it, then you know there are NO mounts in the game.

And with the pleatora of FedEx quests in the game wich require a LOT of long traveling, then you really want those PeP ranks!! As it's the only way to increase your movement speed in this game!

And why would anyone going to PVP, just to lose those hard earned PeP ranks? There is nothing to gain. No system whatsoever that rewards anything at all at the moment for PVP... only punishing you by taking away PeP ranks!

It's basically the sole reason the PVP servers are even more empty then the PVE ones.

People are avoiding PVP like the plague, because it's pointless right now.

Cheers

Well if you read the update news on tcos.com They did mention something about have mounts in the near future.

But I will PVP no matter what.....

It sounds strange that their main abilities would be so worthless in combat. I'm sure they will address this issue soon enough.

All I know is that I tried a Deathhand and it rocks. With a sweet ranged attack chain and some very complementary melee attacks I was just tearing through everything I saw. I'll probably play one of these at release.

I beta tested a skinshifter to high teens and posted about the fact that skinshifts did not aid in combat leaving skinshifters the only class that has no bodyshot abilities that heal or do more damage in combat.

The Spellborn devs have no plans to change this and fix it.

While the skinshifter bodyslots are more geared for pve right now. The word is that the devs do have plans to make some changes for the classes bodyslots towards pvp combat. As of right now you can shift into the different forms to get their buffs before entering pve combat or pvp combat in your normal form.

I do not see this class as worthless and I find it a very fun class to play.

People would take you seriously if you weren't a lier. Combat system "same as wow with a twist" indeed.

Calling ppl liars are the single most non serious thing about this thread. Fair enough that some disagree with me, I can live with that, but its just retarded comming with comments like that.

What I will give ppl is that I'm a little harsh about the combat system, it is different then wow, but almost just as boring, and by no means revolutionary, different though, they deserve credit for that.

Yes different, but also refreshing break from other mmo game combat systems.

yall are way over hyping up this game lol

No I don't really think it is over hyping the game. When you play it and get into the game you see that it is truely a remarkable game. So many different ways to play a single class. You are not limited to specs.

well i disagree a bit and call it 1 step forwared, many steps yet to come

as i see that your main point of complain is about the lack of social/grouping content i feel you are judging the game to early.

i share with you the love of the combat system wich for me, coupled with the great atmosphere set by graphics, sound and world design. also the tcos launch was really smooth and within days the devs worked on the little quirks that needed to be ironed out.

for me this is the solid basis i missed in many games lately like aoc and even war.

so i do believe that with a growing community the game will develope into more of a group play game.

i base this on these toughts:

1. the untypical character setups allow for open grouping  without having to wait for that precious healer, buffer or tank

2. they alreaddy introduced a group instance just days ago and i think many more will follow

3. with their concept of the high houses they just need to slap on a "high house channel" and youll easily find people with the same goals and motive to do group quests

4. the whole shard theme screams for exploration

so rather then seeing your points as steps backward i see them as untapped potential of a game that hopefully will be here to stay

This is a great post craynlon. There seems to be a deeper game laying ahead of this very theme park beginning.  However first impressions mean everything in today's crowded market. I leveled 1 of each archetype to 7. 3/4 of my time was on auto-run, running and running and then some more running, from one end of a zone to the other, back to town, back across the zone, round and round we go. This is not "time well spent".  Maybe 1/10 quests had any action involved. It should be vice-versa if you want to keep me entertained with your quests.

I hope at the very least that the dungeon xp off mobs/bosses is worth alot more than the sad XP you get from outdoor mobs.

You must of passed a lot of the encounter quests in the starter area. Too bad. WHile that said yes there were a lot of travel quests in the first starter I am wondering if you went into the second zone at all and took the quests there? A lot fo encouter quests there. ANd if it is a quest that had you looking for items in the area, you will have plenty of encounters. :)

Got it to work! Thanks copeland!

Well copeland there isnt actually... Yes they have ip blocker... so change your ip too say your from France or Germany (tried that still wont work) ok change the whole proxy (Oh... that didnt work either) yes you can download the client... yes thats an easy workaround... but acutally registering and logging on.... thats a completely different story and no its not easy.

took me 1 minute to create an account, 30 seconds to verify my e-mail, 90 minutes to download the game, 2 minutes to install, 10 minutes to customize a warrior and voila.. i didn't find anything difficult about the process.

What did you use to get past the IP block for account creation and playing the game? I check ping24.org and it doesn't resolve for me.

http://www.hide-surf.info/

There are no IP blocks on playing the game itself. Simply put in the URL for the registration process and then when you receive your e-mail to confirm it put that URL in there and it works fine from then on out.

I get a error when using www.hide-surf.info with the email URL that was sent. The error was: The requested URL returned error: 400

I think the big thing that most NA people have been complaining about is the fact that we have to go through a Closed Beta phase and it has been delayed now.

With that said I can wait...... I did CB about a year ago and it is a great game!

In my opinion:

Whats the point in constantly staying in high sec space? yea your safer, but it does take longer to gain ISK or in my opinion it does; I have moved from Meno to Omist an to other 0.0 sectors; PvPed, podded people, an podded myself thats the fun in EVE, all I think is "So what ill loose this ship? ill just get another one" thus now I have well billions an I spend it like its my last day alive for christ sake, I have 2 chimera carriers, 1 Pheonix, an I can offored to build or buy a few leviathens (Caldari capital ships) I have all my skills near enough to lv 5 now well all my ship command an learning ect ect; the only reason WHY I have gotten this far is due to how I think of this game, I dont think of it as "Oh shyts ima die run away, I dun wanna lo0z this"

If I loose a ship, so what its a game, your supposed to have fun; not worry about lossing ISK or crap.

Since this game is time based, all you need to do is spend a few hours ganking freighters in high sec or low sec.

Shinra  (A corp, im not in it) made around 7billion from just popping a charon freighter in high sec.

This also proves; your not completely SAFE everywhere people; so stop complaining, if you turn Eve into an ISK grind fest, well EVE will die! the majority of players on this game are Alts either of PVP players an PVE players.

Dont hate the players!

Well I dunno if my spelling was good or not but eh deal with it.

I agree. You're not safe in high sec if you have 7bill in a freighter. I was told rigth from the beginning that if the risk is worth it they will gank you in high sec too.

You can make isk with no problems in high sec or low sec. So don't worry about losing ships. My corp and I go into low sec to drop off goods and to look for some pvp action. We lose some ships, so what!!! it boils down to eve not being a game for all gamers.

But, that doesn't mean you can't play the entire time in high sec either. Remember one of the best features of this game is how open ended the game is.... Do what you want!!!

Fly safe!!!!

So many people out there do not know if it wasn't for GG and D&D the gaming world of RPG and the gaming world in general would not be the world it is today.

GG will truely be missed!!!!!

THE WASD just doesn't feel right. SO I use a combo of clicks and keys to pvp and grind. They really tried to make the game so you did not have to use a mouse. And you can play with out the mouse.
I agree at times even brumhart seems dead. I had almost thought the game was on its way out after a few nights in a row with noone around.

I did a little beta testing and got to level 4 when they said it was ready for prime time. I found out that they were going to charge a monthly fee. I liked the game but not enough to warrant a monthly fee. (Crap i would pay the fee to play dofus.com before I would pay a monthly fee for Archlord)

But, when the said it was going to be free to play I ran down to the local game store and bought a copy of the game. I looked at the box and said YES! they have the castle wars and epic guild battles for the castle and the chance to become Archlord; which is an entire new class on its own as far as I understand.

So I am jazzed. I tell a few friends about it and they watch the online vids and about 8 of them jump on the wagon and all buy a copy of the game. They read the samething I did. Become Archlord, wage castle and guild battles.

Well you can do guild battles, but wait WHAT? no Archlord? no castles? HUH? but the box says.... so...... Wait isn't that false advertisment?

Well in my book, yes it is..... but I guess they can get away with it since they saw the Archlord update EPII is free for all who bought the game.

Yeah, well all I have to say is THANKS for NOTHING.

The game goes great until around level 35 to 40 the grind gets worse and worse. The pots cost big $$ and this is a pot game no healing classes in this one folks.

So, I stepped back and said to myself I need to find a way to place this game smart. I left it for a while. The hardcore players played on and pushed on into the 60 and 70 levels. 6 months has past and still no EPII update released. I have givin up on that. My friends and I started to analize the enomics i the game.

And we really started to get back into the game when they had the DOUBLE XP event and no they had a double drop weekend. Not sure If I really show a difference in the drop rate. But they have now increased the drop rate by 30% which is good and has been put in place for good.

But once you really dig in hard and find some of the other fine gaming (mmo) aspects of Archlord you will see that is does have a fun balance in game mechanics and along with enomics that seem really steep but if you engage in the other aspects of the game you can payroll your grind times by gathering goods from dead mobs and selling them.

Just remember to always go back to games and give them a second chance and even start over if you have too. trust me its a good game but if your not a hardcore grinder then the game is not for you.

When the EPII update comes out I sure hope it brings more quests for all races, better pvp options and better looking UI information when in guild battles. I know I am waiting for the EPII release and it may not be to be the Archlord myself, but at least I can finally see soemone make Archlord status and at least and know it is in place and I have something once again to strave to level and push on and continue into the work of Chantra with a cause and meaning following behind me.

But leveling right now just plain down right SUXX in this game.
