they have desinged the game and tv show to stand on there own if one or the other fails.

how are you not supost to get bit if all you do is stand in one place and spam your hotbar...

i'll keep a weathered eye on this one, but not exspecting to much.

They really support their game and the community. From a gamer's perspective, what more could you ask for?

How have they really supported their game and community?  They pumped out content at a good pace for the first 18 months, then xpac, and now few months later?  Unless they can match their first 18 month pace then they were full of a lot of hot air and marketing bull.  So far they're not on pace.

The fact is they don't have an outsanding record as a publisher.  I can see being excited that EA isn't the publisher, but that's different than throwing accolades at Trion where they haven't earned them yet.

 

So you're saying that they've been slacking in the last six months in terms of updates to the game? They've patched the game over 50 times, and have made significant changes to the game 10 times. They're already gearing up for 2.2. This is all while developing and preparing for a major expansion.

 

What do you want from them? A reacharound and a sandwich after?

god I know right, some people are just sick and messed up in the head and cant stand when others are happy, 98% of the thead is all positive and then you have these 2 ..

I think you should do everyone a favor troublmaker, and Torvaldr and shut that hole in your face. do a lil reasrech and investiagate things before looking like morons.

If your not intrested in AA or Trion, then I sugest you move on..

On a lighter note, I am very happy Trion has picked up AA, could not ask for a better company :)

A sandbox to me is like minecraft, and wurm.

you are dropped into a world with a few tools and are told hear ya go, have fun..

allot of these new games coming out saying they are sandboxs, I dont see how they are true sandboxes.. they might have some sandbox aspecs to them..

but they are not pure sandboxes.

I still wait for the day when we get a true, pure AAA sandbox mmo.

I thought archage was going to be like that, but after watching a recent video.. I saw the author doing quests...?!

to me this isnt a sandbox, its a hybrid between theampark and sandbox.

People out there really looking.. and I mean REALLY looking for a pure true sandbox game..

thats about as pure as your going to get.

Teraforming, building, fighting, animal breeding, eating, drinking, everything but going to the bathroom is in this game.

you are put into the game with a set of tools and skills that start at 1.. and can be maxed at 100, which would litterally take yrs to do.

you want to build a house? cut a tree down, cut the fallen tree into logs, cut those logs into planks.. dontfortget the nails :D

and take and nail each plank onto a wall that requires 20 planks.

now that to me is a pure sandbox lol :D

P.S. sorry I do not mean to be fanboyish toward Wurm, but after playing for so long.. that is how I see a sandbox should be.

These new games coming out, Archage, EQnext, Pathfinder, they all scream sandbox.. but until they reach this kind of level.. they are still just hybrids..

I agree with the above 3 posters..

I found Wo a few months ago, and although I have had those teeth grinding xp once and a while, For some reason I cannot put my finger on.. I just love wurm..

its the mmo I have been searching for that holds my attention since wow.. yes I said wow :P

A quick little story for you:

About 2 weeks ago, I was off hunting for food and lost my way from my village.. as it has been stated wurm does not have a map.. only a compass to help guide you around.

Well suffice to say I died.. took me a few hrs but I did find my body with most of my loot on it.. I died again..and again.. lol

Fearing I may have no hair left or teeth. I went to the main town greendog on my island.

Where I came in contact with one of the many citazens of wurm.. I told them my sad tale, and to my surprise.. he offered to lend me a hand, well somewhere in the huge landscape that is wurm we got separated and I got lost .. lol again

However I did find my body .. and loot, and was chased by a spider, bear, wolf and some other creepy crawlers..

Near death and bleeding, I shouted out for help, grasping at any hope I could that I would stay alive, I had wandered very far and hell if I knew how to get back lol

Luckily a young chap, was working on his soon to be open Hotel and heard my cries for help, running out with sheild and sword in hand, he killed the spiders and creeps following me trying to have me as dinner, I slowly crawled my way into the hotel and sat by the fire while the owner tended to my wonds..

I asked him how far I was away from my settlement, which by using the player made out of game map, I was quit far off course.

Other's that where helping or staying at the hotel offered to guide me back to where I needed to be.

So we all headed out into the night, through deep woods, and a long arse cave system made by the players who where guideing me, I finally got back home..

It was.. nothing short of an adventure.. it was a pain in the arse.. and I swear I almost had a heart attack 3 times..

and it was probably the most fun I have ever had in any game.. ever..

I will be honest.. I was ready to throw in the towl.. take a break..

But after meeting new friends, and having that adventure, and seeing how exceptional the in-game community is..

They could of just left me for dead.. took my stuff..

but they didnt.

and because of that wurm has earned a yearly sub from me, I have a town I am currently in the process of building, to where I may one day help those in need like I once was.

Wurm is only what you make of it, like anything else, the more friends you make the more pleople you have to talk and laugh with the better the exspireance will be :)

TSW isnt a bad game, I actually enjoyed it alot .. matter of fact.

I tryed tera and although the combat was fun .. in the end it was just another meh.

and nothing agaist guild wars, but after watching videos and reading some reviews.. I could see myself saying Meh to that to.

I am so strung out on the high fantasy and the levels, and get this better gear to go into this dungen to get this better gear ride.

TSW does it for me because its new and refreshing, it may have it's problems, but its a new enough change for me that I preordered and will be playing it for some time to come. its more of a adult game.

I like a game that for a change makes you think about a quest rather then going to a hub grabbing everything and rise wash repeat.

The reason alot of people cant figure out what they dont like about TSW is because for the last decade we have been conditioned to a playstyle like mention above. So when something that tries to be different comes along, we instinctivly dont like it, or can't place a finger on whats different.

I myself fell into that mode with tsw as well .. after my 1st beta weekend after grabbing what quests I could doing them and running back .. it to felt to me the same ol same ol ..

untill, I read that, thats not what you are supost to do.. you grab 1 or 2 quests from the main hub do them and when completed you look around the area for a new quest, while not running back to the main hub ..

on the 2nd weekend I tryed this .. a little skepticle at 1st .. but it made a wold of difference ... it was should I dare say .. fun to quest again. :)

I wish those that play gw2 the best of luck and lots of fun in your game.
