They said city wont reset unless u gather an army to take it back.  It will get harder and harder for enemy to hold the city for a long time probably b/c the npc gets tougher? or more npc spawn and with enemy all spread out getting drunk and raping hot elves I dont see a reason to have auto reset.

DAoC started the pvp ranking system so WoW actually copy stuff from other games omg.    pvp in WoW is like for little kids dont tell me u are proud of it.

6 years ago the total population of people playing MMO's was very little.  Maybe 1 million spread across 4 or 5 games tops.  You are trying to compare apples and oranges.  DAOC was the #2 subscription MMO behind everquest for a long time.  And it was a PVP (RVR) centric game.  If you mean FFA PVP then state Free for All.

DAOC went down the tubes when they implemented TOA which they thought would give enough PVE/ High End Raiding that would take more away from EQ and it failed.  People who played daoc wanted to pvp not pve. 

 agreed, thats why WAR will be a success if they just focus on pvp instead of making pve screwing up pvp.

liie ppl said even other server ppl help open the city gate, they cant really participate in the city raid.  I would rather have more city raid happening than slow instances and less city raid.

Normally is good to delay for but in this case is actually bad b/c more ppl are going to play WAR insteaf of AoC now.

Secondly, I'm really tired of WoW being used as the barometer of what a successful MMO is. This isn't so much pointed at you directly, just taking this moment to drop a general rant from all the "Will it kill WoW?" threads I see everywhere. A MMO doesn't need to have NEAR the number of subs that WoW has to be a success. By that standard every single MMO to date other than WoW has been an abysmal failure, which simply isn't the case. DAoC was a HUGE financial success and it never topped more than about 300k subs in it's prime. Both it and UO are still hugely profitable and therefore still financially successful with their current sub counts. Heck, even AC and AO are still kicking and bringing in profit after all these years.

I thought I recall seeing that marcos were not going to be "allowed".  Being a father of young children, I can't keep a voice chat program on all the time due to the frequent use of "frustrating language" that can be utilized in the heat of battle. In the past I used to be able to put my headphones on, but typing may be too slow to communicate effectively in this game.

I believe Turbine did do something right in intergrating a chat program with DDO ( and LORTO?).  Wish WAR would have a system as well. Given it is focused heavily in RvR, why would voice chat be so hard to put in the game?

just realized that all the vids we see in WAR are from conferences, live expos, etc. Where verbal communication is easy. You just don't see much typing going on. 

Will there be simple macros like target calling? etc. in the game?

I played LOTR and  the chat was terrible.  Some ppl u can hear some u cant. 

whats are u 6 yrs old?  Learn to do some research and read posts.

 If u are too lazy to even read thru the 1st page of the forum , why do u care about no offical forum?

I hate ppl jumping all over the place and at the end hes the one that dies so pointless.

And look at pve focus game like Vanguard and lotr, they sure get alot of sub right?

WoW is free in Asia, is LOTR going the same route?  If not its not going to get msaaive sub from Asia. 

there is no balancing the game till they got all the classes done.

why u guys think they revamp the whole archery system in daoc for?

high elves: daoc hunter with no stealth=archer with pet.

dark elves: daoc ranger with no stealth=dual wield melee archer.

I can careless about the male or female only classes but any game that sticks too much to the IP will suck big time; example: LOTR and SWG.  Sometime u just have to bend the rules to make things work.

go do some research and ppl are tire of comparing to WoW ok?

as most of u dont know about 6.5 mil of 9mil gets to play WoW for free in Asia.

in daoc alliance form raids and u get good pvp info.
