I agree here i can understand that they are cranky but are they cranky because they cant get in and test or because they just want to play the damn thing, but like the OP said be paitient with the open beta but if this happens when the Early access kicks in then put on them heels and start kicking and screaming heck even send me an invite and i will join the party :)

Im sorry but unfortunately i have been in both beta's AoC and WAR and i can see by a long shot that, that  1 point is all that AoC will get on WAR . WAR  is just a more pleasing and enjoyable game by far i mean don't get me wrong i enjoyed my time in AoC the short time i was there but it is no comparison to WAR in terms of Longevity, the only thing AoC has is uber pretty graphics that most ppl cant experience due to having to have a pretty bloody decent Rig to do so.

It does make me laugh tho that  you would Pin a badge on AoC's chest almost stating it is gonna be a winner when WAR beta testers outnumber AoC total playerbase but meh numbers don't mean a thing. To me you are just goona get yourself a whole lot of hurt coming your way cause it is almost certain that WAR is gonna use AoC as a piece of toilet paper, i wish is was not so Cause AoC has so much potential but it is true, sad but true.

the only thing i can say is you have to try this game and i wont say no more cause once you try it you will see for yourself  the fun factor this game brings.

Yes Tryker is a nice place to be but is a pain of a place to get around, Matis looks fantastic and that Music in the vid a few post above is mezmerizing i could just close my eyes and picture my time in Ryzom whilst that was on.

Since i have been playing there has been a few patches but no more than 220mb for memory so even if you do have to patch it should not be too bad.

Yeah not too shure on downtime, that message has been on the Herald for hours now and the servers were back up since that was posted and now there down again, i agree and think they are doing necessary tweaks for the open beta process.

OMG they are late this is Blasphemy O.o.......... just be patient you do know that they things to do you know, like getting the servers rdy after we rampaged across them all weekend.

I personally think they are a little over powered them good ol healers, i was having a 1 on 1 with a healer 4 lvl's below me ( Chosen Magus) and i was absolutely raped by the lower lvl i had not even got there health below 1/4 and  i had my minion out and was pumping them skills like never b4 but was absolutely owned as much as it was embarrasing it was making me think what chance do i have in the Battlefield honestly if i cant beat a char 4 lvl's below me than what chance do i have at facing off against some 1 my own lvl and no im not a crap player not the best but i know how to handle my class and it was a lil rediculous how easy this person beat me. i know that can heal them selves which helps but surely i should have taken them down a few more notches.

That kind of attitude right there is what ruins most mmorpgs, go play city of heroes and tell them there is a best spec I garuntee you will be proven wrong. I am far from the problem, I was letting him know he could easily go with his playstyle. Best spec is just a mentality that people created in a mmorpg and believe to be true.

Well what i see has happened here is that this said person was asking what ppl thought was the best specs for his said class right? and then you replied by telling him to not listen to the others right? well i can see why they would get cranky but probably should have not been to the level you are saying.

So this is what i think happened,

Player ask for help on a certain spec to obviously Vets of the game and you turn around after being on a trial telling him to not listen to them when they replied, they get cranky (not that they know your on a trial) for they are being helpful and you are there telling them to more or less keep there opinions to them selves, i know you did not say this but you may as well have. The thing is the guy asked for help on specs so he wanted to listen to them so i am unsure as to why you felt the need as a trial member to tell him not to listen to them? Please don't think i am having a go at you but seriously he wanted help, he obviously got it and you told him to ignore it why would they not be pissed off i agree that it could of been handled better but even as you say there is not a best spec you will still get arguments in any game including CoH e.t.c  of what certain ppl think is the best spec for that certain class and i know it comes down to play-style but some ppl don't have a play-style, some ppl just play the game as a game and don't take it too seriously

Play-style are a thing you develop not something that just happens naturally well not a good one anyways and i know this as i have learnt from a lot of Vets throughout many a MMO on the market. I

Makes perfect sense imagine how many ppl are gonna log in on Sunday at least this way there wont be so much lag in the noobie area's as most of us will be leaps and bounds ahead of those that have to wait :)

Because you spend so much time on the ground foraging, fighting and just trying find your way safely around the place that there is no time for jumping just time for exploring, surviving and having a bloody great time. :)

I dabbled in a few games such as EQ,  DAoC, WoW, but the only true MMO which i class as my first due to a long stay was FFXI, still love that game by the way and have since spent a bit more time on the earlier titles i have tried, i guess when i tried them i truly did not understand how the whole MMO thing played out.

FFXI  taught me the base mechanics of an Online game and i have not looked back since.
