Well it is actually still 3 days headstart but 2 days pre select, so you get 2 days to reserve a name and make a char so when headstart comes around you just jump straight in and enjoy the mass ks'ing :)

My advice skip the first area quest and head straight for the first quest hub.

Well i assume it will work just like any other buff, you log out and when you log back in your buff still stands, so yeah i would say you come back exactly how you left.

After looking over my skills list i dont see anything like this there, i think at one point and time it was goint to be in but i don't see it now, maybe it will be in a later update or something.

Look here for ranger skills list   http://www.aionarmory.com/search.aspx?browse=6.8

All i can say is seriously ppl grow some balls lol.

I wonder if you will complain this much when you are over invading the other factions homeland??? and yes you will because you get infiltration quest to do so.

So you get ganked rez, link the location and call for help (if you don't know how to do that open map ctrl and right click on map where enemy was and post it in chat, this will link for all to click on and put a pointer on there map as to where they are), now tell me is it more fun to sit there and kill a sheep/kangaroo or chase down the punk that owned your face cause you are a noob???

I have been playing since Aion Kor, then went to Aion CN (currently still there) and now beta and have been ganked many a time but have also ganked a few on my travels along the way, I find it lame for high level players who like to just harrass noobies but meh it don't last too long before they either get killed, get bored or have to get up go and brush there teeth cause it has passed 7:30 and it is there nap time.

Seriously guys if you read anythng about the game you should have know it was gonna happen, but yet here you are complaining, can you not be happy for once and just enjoy yourself, which can be quite easily done in Aion.

Tis funny really i would never had expected to hear Asmo's whining from being ganked lol considering they are the more masculine race.

Watch come release when every man and his dog rolls Asmo and then let's see how many of you complain...not too many i don't think, cause you will be the one doing the ganking.

Again i want to point out that the OP was out looking to gank, folks will not put up with that all the time or at least not for long. Devs need to balance this part out.

It is Balanced, Rifts only open at certain times, in random area's throughout the map, you will not see mass ganking fest going on lol, ppl will call for help and ppl will come, the Abyss is PVP central, it is inevitable that it will happen here but like someone said, survival of the fittest, kill or be killed.

You actually get Quest in game to infiltrate the Opposing factions homeland, you will encounter ppl along the way if you don't kill them they will kill you. It isnot Ganking it is merely clearing the path of the Obstacles that lay in your way to your Quest location, i'm sure you would kill a mob that was in your way, why not a PC.

If this is the case then i can live with that i would have a choice on entering the area knowing i could get ganked. If pvp is not a choice then your gonna lose folks.

I can guarantee this will be nothing like what AoC was when it released, Yes you will be ganked, but at the same time you yourself will gank, even if you come across and Asmo/Elyos in your home land, they may have been harmlessley doing a quest when BAM you stick a shiny lil Dagger between his eye's and makes his pretty lil Wings cover his head in shame for invading your turf. In a sense that is still ganking??

Yes they may lose ppl becauswe they don't like to be ganked but then again if they research the game they will learn that hey this game is a PVPVE game PVP = Yes PVE= yes, you get both. Trust me i was never a PVP fan but it balances out well in this game and has made me personally love it. i actually find myself rolling on PVP servers for other games now too lol.

Yeah I agree with most of it.  The thing is though the game changes quite drastically once you get past level 25 ish and into the Abyss where a lot of this would not apply.  The crafting and class restrictions are still there, but the crafted items are useful even at end game, and the classes are supposedly very well balanced as a result of the restrictions.  Also in 1.5 they added a ton of customization options for classes which we will launch with.

How would you know ?

You weren't at the end game and 1.5 is not even published. The game is out 1 year now in Korea, in fact it launched before War.

War is done than ? :))))

I am always surprised why always the same hoppers jump from game to game.. And every time invent things and hype things just because THEY play it (for the next 3 months).

It must be something in their blood I guess.

They play it so they think they are the center of the universe.

1.5 is definately being released with NA, states it on NCsofts website http://www.aiononline.com/us/, i have tested these features and yes there new customisation options (eye color e.t.c), new stigma's e.t.c. (all tested on korean Test servers)

You want to see how flying works, go play perfect world, it makes Aion look like a poor step child.

Transportation is the achilles heel of Aion.  It will keep it from being a Wow beater.  You can try to sugar coat it all you like, but it will not change the fact that getting from one place to another is a chore in this game.

This game is a good change from the other Crap out there on the Market, i have been playing Aion for well over 6 months now (Korean, China) and i am loving it, and so is everyone else that  i am playing it with. NO it is not a game for everyone, but it has features for everyone, it caters for both soft and Hardcore players. This game has taken the right steps in securing itself alongside some of the Greats in the MMO Genre like it or not.

I honestly Don't know why i argue i get more Sense out of my Nagging wife than i do with some of the ppl on these boards.

The fact you played a game for 6 months on a Korean or even Chinese servers shows you invested a tremendous amount of time and dedication in an mmorpg where even the simplest text wasn't understood...

I can imagine the effort being made in looking through windows full ^$$IO3D3EGHBEB8=µ789 text is an achievement in its own.

Heaven forbid if people will not join you in the coming months.

Must be frustrating.

I actually enjoyed playing with all the screwed up languages lol, it made me study a bit and learn what did what, made it more challenging in a sense, plus those Korean's are ruthless lol, Ganking is there style of gameplay, which made it all the more exciting to hit the Abyss, if only i could have typed in Korean that they were just owned by an Aussie Noob that had a Ranger decked out with MP boosting Manastones :) ...Took me while to figure out which one's were Crit lol.

I remember Running through a Rift the other night in Aion China to be greeted by 2 seperate Raid groups (consisted of 18 players to each raid group) and i tell ya it was Chaos, as the Rift we went through was limited with how many ppl can port through we were eventually greatly outnumbered, we lasted 4 hours in that rift and several Kisk later we decided to call it a night after we had what felt like the Whole of Elysea chasing us , the feeling was Epic and i can only assume there will be alot of this when NA launches and i cannot wait to be a part of it. Defending your home land, saving the Noobs, tearing the opposing faction a new A-hole,  just too much fun in my books.

Im sorry but PW has better Flying mechanics than Aion O.o was gonna say you just insulted your own intelligence but obviously you have none.

Getting from one place to another in any game is a Chore, Killing mobs in a Game is a Chore, doing quest in a Game is Chore, Anything you do in an MMO is a Chore, i really don't know what you were trying to achieve with that comment.

And i just really love how ppl still like to compare a game that has been out for 4-5 years to a game only just released ROFLCOPTER Jesus guys get a grip, This game is Solid, it is not a WoW Killer, Never stated to be, it is Polished, relatively Bug free, and has not even launched, Has plenty of Potential, is new, fresh, NOT bringing a whole new league of gameplay to the table, but once again never stated to be.

It seems to me that a lot of the ppl playing atm in these beta Events do not deserve to be there, 1 it being a BETA TEST and they are worried about not being able to FLY fulltime O.o FFS,

This in itself shows' me that you have not done any research on the game, and if you did and  payed any attention to the LORE then you would have known that you are unable to fly in Area'a that do not have a dense comcentration of Aether. So with that being said all i see is ppl that ONCE AGAIN are not even there to test the game but are merely there just to have a free play and spurt there random bullshit about how the game is not all that they Expected, well here you go, i am sure you are reading this so how about you go read up about the game, the Lore e.t.c and you may unravel a few things that tell you what this game is about and save you wasting your time and a valuable Key for someone who might actually care and know something of the title to give some kind of Intelligent feedback.

It really shits me how the MMO Community has become.

Is it dead ?

Ok, you can lose Abyss Points when you die, but they are only used to purchase stuff correct? It's not like having a huge pile of Abyss Points gives you a title, bonus or advantage right? I kinda like how that sounds to be honest, cause that makes achieving some of the best PvP raid gear a challenge.

I'm also guessing you get more AP from players higher level than you and less from players lower level than you. Does this also mean you get like 0 points for ganking greys? Cause I hope theres no incentive for ganking lowbies, lol.

AP gives you Rank the higher the Rank, the more you are respected or called a botter 1 or the 2 lol

But if you farm enough abyss points to Hero status then yes you do get  benefits from it, i think you get new skills and are almost invincible lol kinda like god mode when activated.

You will find AP will come in very handy and you will want to them sooner or later either it be to purchase Abyss gear which gives stat bonuses against other players either it be better Atk % or Def % Plus the Abyss potions heal for a big amount and instanly so they will definately save your butt.

Self rez stones can only be attained through Quest or AP, they 2 can come in handy.

You will find in later patches that AP will almost be a necessity.

I've noticed in a lot of PvP videos, players are killing other players with the ?? for level. Is every player going to show up as ?? so as to prevent people from knowing or are these videos of people who just seem to be able to kill high level enemies easily?

Yes they don't give lvl's just a PVP rank you start at 9 and work your way down, but the trick is that when you spend your AP point on Abyss gear/Consumables e.t.c it takes away your AP and thus reducing your rank if you spend enough points, plus the added effect of Item skinning where as you can  skin a high lvl item with a lol lvl skin makes it even harder to judge your opponent.

For example you may be rank 5 and thinking mighty of yourself and you see a Rank 9 with what looks to be noobie gear and think sweeeet gonna gank me this noob, then POW he 2 shots ya...and yep has happened to me b4 :)

A few more questions that came to mind while watching Aion videos on youtube...

1) How many bag slots do you get and how big are the bags you can use?

A) At lvl 37 i have 3 Bags each with 3 lines of 9 slots , i am honestly not sure if i get anymore after this or not and if so i am not looking forward to paying for it as my last bag line cost 288k

2) Is there a banking system and does it have a guild vault?

A) yes and yes

3) Are crafting professions independant from each other or are they co-dependant?

A) Independant

4) When collecting resources, are there rare drops during this process or do rare resources only drop off mobs?

A) Yes they do Drop rare ore's e.t.c

5) Do melee classes have a viable way to keep enemies from just constantly running away, thus preventing a ranged biased game?

A) Yes Glads have a ranged attk and Temps have there pull skill, both can slow and stun target.

6) Whats the average health of a tank, priest, mage and scout class at 20 and / or 50?

A) not sure at either of those lvl's but a fellow legion mate of mine has over 4k HP at 35, this can be added on due to HP manastones which can be equipped to armor or weapons.

FYI, there is an NPC dye vendor in the main city Pandaemonium and I have never once had a dye drop on the Chinese version.

The patch which allows Dye drops is not on the CN servers yet, hopefully it will be soon.

Hi Rhoklaw I am a bit tired so if you don't mind short answers to your interesting questions

Ok, I recently read a thread that Aion is what DAoC fans are looking for since Mythic let us down with WAR. So with that in mind, I have a few questions.

1) DAoC was best known for its end game RvR. Is it true that Aion has Keeps / Towers that can be controlled and upgraded by guilds? YES

2) What is the drive behind Aion's PvP? DAoC had 2 relics of power for each of its 3 realms that you could fight over for control. Which in turn gave realmwide bonuses in both PvE and RvR. Does anything like this exist in Aion? Similar but not called relics, each enemy keep has the equivalent of a relic. Remember though there is a third AI realm.

3) It was also stated that Aion has something similar to DAoC's Realm Abilities. Which are basically abilities purchased with points earned while killing enemy players. Is this true? Very much so but you also earn Abyss points to buy specialist RvR gear

4) DAoC was smart enough to keep about 95% of its PvE separate from any form of PvP so that if you needed to level in peace you could and if you wanted to fight, there was plenty of action in the Frontier. Can you hit the level cap in Aion strictly through PvE or do you have to PvP at some point to reach max level? Possible but hard to do this because AION is very much end game (RvR oriented)

5) DAoC had issues in RvR with Crowd Control such as, whoever mezzed / stunned the other person / group first usually won the battle. Is the CC in Aion overwhelming or did they manage to minimize it to shorter durations vs. DAoC's 9 sec stuns and 60+ sec mezzes. Crowd control is smart but not overwhelming Clerics and Chanters have de-buff abilities for CC.

6) Classic Server DAoC, you know, the ones without the stupid ToA expanions BS usually had some lengthy fights that could last for hours and were entirely too fun the whole time. How long is the average battle in Aion for say an 6 vs 6 encounter and also for all out zergs. Hard to say because no Chinese server has yet to advance to a level where there is evidence. Zergs have started to emerge but I am not in a Korean clan so had little experience. Language is a problem on Chinese servers even though Eng Language patch is available.

7) DAoC was fairly dependant on gear to be any good in RvR / PvP. How important is the gear in Aion when it comes to PvP? Exactly the same as DAoC, getting the right template for RvR is critical

8) Leveling in DAoC was a snap which for PvP / RvR games is the best way to go. No one wants to wait 3-6 months to get into the meat and potatoes of the game. Aion has been labeled a grind, yet compared to Lineage and most other asian marketed games, its been rumored to be a lot less of a grind. Is this true and what is the level cap by the way? No Grind Fest at all because it is mission based for every ten levels (e.g. 11-20). AION is nothing like Lineage. You get into RvR at level 25, but you can experience it earlier through something called The Rift which is based on a similar concept to Darkness Falls. Effectively you are temporarily allowed into enemy territory (differential levels for this 10-19, 20-29)

9) DAoC is like 1 of maybe a handful of games with the intelligence of allowing players to customize the color of their gear. Dyes in game were ranged from ugly colors at cheap prices to more desired colors for a good chunk of change. How easy is it to dye your gear in Aion and is it Merchant sold or drop only? Dyes have been introduced but as special drops, AION will introduce dyes into US/Europe release.

10) Healers / Buffers in DAoC definately made leveling and RvR a lot easier, but potions were available that eventually gave every class easy access to healing and buffs. Aion supposedly has long timers on potions / bandages which means Healers are once again a high demand class, as they should be. Is this true? Healers are in high demand for RvR and higher level PvE. You can craft potions and they also come with drops.

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions as I am an extremely miserable but huge fan of DAoC which is basically on life support. Unfortunately, WAR was a complete letdown and so I'm looking for an MMO that I can pick up where DAoC left off. I was also extremely disappointed with WAR and delighted to discover AION. Will transfer to US/Europe servers when released in September, and have pre-ordered premier box

I agree with everything here after playing since Korean beta and am now Playing Cn retail, all with the Exception that there is a grind but no where near as steep as L2 or many other titles, if you decide to pty to do Quest then you will inevitably find a grind as you will Fly through Quest but get reduced XP due to having split XP from the Party, but there is a plus to grinding as you get an increased chance to get rare drops or even just random armor/Weap drops which helps with cash e.t.c, plus you can gather whilst doing so to help your crafting e.t.c

If Aion US/EU is anything like Aion CN with the Drop rates for craftable items then you will find youself Grinding anyway's to get the mats for crafting. The CN drop rates IMO are crap compared to Aion KR and damn expensive as well.

Aion raid content

The monsters in that list are rare and common Mobs. Some of them you will encounter quite often, others will only spawn at certain times such as day's, nights or just plain randomly e.t.c, these are the one's you want as they drop the good rewards and are generally raid based monsters, and yes they are scattered throughout the world so it makes it even more fun as whislt you are out in the real world the opposing faction can always come and try to gank your ass whilst trying to take it down.

I had an encounter whit my Legion leader against a lvl 40 6 dot elite (we were lvl 30 ) that 1 shotted quite a few of us that were circleing around it with it's DoT was embarrasing but fun nonetheless lol.

Not entirely sure of exactly what End game will be but it should be a good balance of PVP/PVE raids e.t.c.

I definately know that PVP is a big part of Endgame in the Korean Release but we may see different here as we are a total different gaming style bunch over these parts of the world. All i can say is that you should not be dissapointed.

The whole Swimming thing is what i dont really understand why  is it not in game already? O.o

But then again on the Kor Test server there a lot of tweaks and new Additions to standard things in game that should already be in there but are not yet, so i daresay that When US/EU releases we will have these neat features that thet Koreans currently do not have :), personally not to fussed about swimming, get a much better view from above anyway's.

I have been Playing Since Beta and am currently still playing with several Friends and i can say that the Bot Condition is Declining, i remember we rolled on a new  Server and it was infested beyond belief but within a few days BOOYA they were gone it was such a Relief, you still do see them but in minisule numbers and once weekly Maintenance comes about goodbye to them bots as well :)

Label this game as you like i know that they are doing a great job now so when it does release in NA/EU they will be rdy and will crush the bots as soon as they come.

I agree that this is not a good game for bots, well not needed like some out there, it is not a hard leveling game (a little more than WoW) an the Bots stand no chance going to the Abyss, plus not to mention when a Rift opens and the opposing faction enters, again the bots are destroyed so even if you are thinking of Botting you are seriously wasting your time, the downtime from being ganked, the Downtime from ppl like me training a crap load of mobs onto them to kill em off costing them a fortune in Rez Repair lol, so yeah a bot is pretty useless and like some 1 else said the bots you will see are for RMT if you botted for levels because you are lazy then you are in for 1 hell of a long time with leveling.

That aside the Game is Amazing, competetive, heart racing and just plain Fun, if you like PvP you are going to love this game, if you love PVE you are going to love this game and of course dontcome to me and say i have tried it and it is just like WoW casue it is not, it is a sinilar kind of gameplay but never stated it to be something revolutionary anyways. This game has the Most potential i have seen in a game since god knows when.

I have been a loyal and devoted LoTRO fan since it's birth but to be honest i think this game has stolen that title and given me back my feeling i used to get playing FFII.

I say good job on this title NcSoft keep up the good work, i think you have a winner here.
