MMORPG Game Concepts « Developers Corner 10/03/07 4:21:13 AM
Ever had a scottish raid leader that talked with his mouth closed while being drunk? Even the other scottish/english guys were having problems making up what he was saying.. |

General: MMO Bans Males Playing Female Avatars
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 10/01/07 5:19:02 AM
Pointless imo. I mean, MMORPG's are like ROLE PLAYING GAMES right? It doesnt matter what you are IRL... And what if most ppl playing the game are males,.. I for sure wouldnt want to run around in a world where there are only males and almost no females.. Again.. Pointless..

What gives you that Adrenaline Surge?

MUDS :D played medievia for 3 yrs and loved it. Running around in CPK, have 30 guys from another clan chase you cuz you had the freak tweak gear :D The best part was, that if you would die, 10 guys could strip you butt naked. It works the other way around too, waiting with 10 clannies, hiding in the bushes waiting for some cocky trader to pass by, and whack, strip (saves you alot of time raiding :))
No mmorpg made so far, gave me the same rush a text based game like medievia did. :D Still hoping for one to do tho.

If you wanna know the full story, play the campaign of wc, wc2 and wc3.
Good and evil, just as traitors and patriots, are a matter of dates. |

Hmmm, I hope I'm not causing trouble but what happened...

Banning things won't change the facts. I'm not talking about slavery only, but about everything we feel that has to be rated these days. Sex, violence, drugs, alcohol, abusive language etc etc. It looks like people are forgetting that ignorence doesnt teach anything. Not knowing what all those 'offensive' things are, wont make them not using them... Imo, bring every so called 'bad' experience out of history or our daily life and put some kind educational and realistic twist to it. Make our kids understand -WHY- it's dangerous, and what can happen if you don't be careful.
Take the shame and blame from the past, and learn from it.

Every MMORPG, Online RPG, Mud or whatever multiplayer game that depends on lvling, killing mobs, improving your character and pvp, requires change to be profitable. New classes and races, worlds and dungeons etc etc. Otherwise it doesnt matter how many people are player your game, they will get bored eventually en quit the game. The perfect example is WoW, if they didnt have such a big player database they wouldn't already be at their 3rd expansion. A good community won't appear instantly and still requires motivated players that play to stay, and people will only stay when the game keeps them busy, to keep people busy you need to implement new stuff, to pay the guys that will implement new stuff you need cash.... It's all about mass production, if the people that use your products are happy, sell more and improve the product, so that the people stay happy with your product. It's an neverending circle, and profitable. |

I haven't found 'the best' mmo yet, none of the recent mmo's gave me the thrill I got while playing muds...
But more mmo's are on the way so maybe the best of all times is close :) |

IMO this is really the problem of the parents, I really think those two should think it over and they will realize that they weren't suited as parents and feel guilty for not knowing it sooner. I know it sounds harsh but 'their' children are better off withouth them, and hopefully with a loving, caring foster family. But for the parents; next time when you're back out, be free to do whatever you want, BUT if you decide to play online games 24/7, use a condom or some other kind of precaution in the time you're satisfying your other needs... |
