I totally agree about the aimbotters. Sad that people have to use it because they have no real skill or have a mental disability.

WOW! Looks awesome. I am concerned though. It seems on the official forums and here, that 90% of the population of this game will be some sort of Jedi. I can't help but think this game will be The Force Unleashed meets Guild Wars. I know that in this timeline there are many more Jedi, but seriously. I don't see how they will have any balance in this game. Every video with Jedi in it shows them being an alpha class with no real competition.

I'm an adult with responsabilities. I have a job and friends (not online only) I have children, a wife, bills to pay, and a metal band i play in. So i have about 8-10 hours a week to devote to gaming, sometimes more on the weekends. I wish i had more time, but reality says casual for me. I enjoy every minute of my gaming. I love it.

That is incorrect. You do not start out as a child. Wherever you read this, they gave you wrong information. But what does happen is you obtain a pran, and she will start out as a child and accompany you throughout the game. She will help you out and also have the ability to grow into an older adult.

All you have to do is look at the game overview right here on MMORPG.com. Not saying it's correct.

Well they did say every class has its own story.

That alone will give people reason to play other classes.

I just hope that Bioware does justice to their vision and not let LA bully them around. If they stay true to what THEY say they are going to do then we might have a great game. I'm just nervous. I know how things can change quickly on the development table. What you say I know to be true. But they aren't showing me much of  "every class" yet.

I think those actions in the trailer were more for dramatic effect, and not game play features. I doubt you will see many of the things in that trailer in the game itself. But yes, they are focusing too much on Jedi imo.

 

Umm Jedi is supposed to be focused on in Star Wars The Old Republic. Jedi are in their prime during this time, so it makes sense that jedi are the center of focus.

Then The Force Unleashed MMO is it.

Star Wars is not just about Jedi. There is a lot more to the universe than just Jedi. It is more about the stuggle between good and evil, and how the relative unknown can struggle through adversity and become a hero whether smuggler, princess, or droid.

This scares me. At this point, I see no reason why anyone would want to be anything other than Jedi being that everything revolves around their story arch. I totally agree with your last sentence. I will be watching and waiting eagerly to see if there is any change if the future that leads me to believe otherwise.

 You know, this looks really cool. It is very Star Warsy all the way up to the part where they make Jedi out to be superhuman, then you lost me. This game will be a nightmare. A total Jedi, glowbat orgy of superhumans that can only be killed by another glowbat superhuman. The force unleased MMO. That's all this will be. Balance? I seriously doubt it.

Ummm. Hey slappy,  I don't sit in front of computer all day  waiting for updates. Last I read, yesterday morning there were some issues but people were playing. I have plenty of other games to play and a life. Just thought I'd check it out real quick. I have no intention of really playing it long term. I did'nt say the game sucked, did I? I just said to be careful when you uninstall. <Mod edit>

Glad to hear you haven't had any trouble installing or getting into the game. The game sounds pretty cool. I may try in a couple months, get a little more feedback and try again. Just be mindful of the uninstall if thats what you decide to do.

 Just to let everyone know. This software is junk. It downloaded and I installed it easy enough. I started the updater tehn just sat there saying "connecting to server". After I tried a couple fixes, nothing worked, I uninstalled it. The problem is that when I unistalled I didn't check the default directory is wanted to uninstall. It deleted my entire "My Download" directory not just the program and it's directory. I just sat there going why does it's in my download directory. Then I thought, No biggy, the games not located there so it shouldnt have touched anything. It's not program removal uninstall it just deletes the directory that it thinks the game is located. The only file I had for this game in my DL folder was the WE setup file I downloaded from MMORPG.com.

So you want to have to create a new toon everytime you die? What if it's a max lvl quest? Then you would have to grind to max lvl many times to beat a quest? Now thats just dumb. I dont think you really know what you want.

I don't understand the confusion myself. If you went to xbox.com and did a game search for Star Wars, it came up as a coming soon title for a long long time. Of course it has been removed now. But that should tell you it was to be released for console.

Did we now? I played SWG almost since launch for 4 years straight. Still, with my Pikeman I missed Jedi every damn day. Yes we do. In the begining there were no Jedi in the game and people were ok with that for the most part. When Jedi became a staple in the game, there were not 10k Jedi running around, they were rare for a good time. The way it should be. Later it became a mess though. I'm not saying there shouldn't be Jedi, I just think it's strange that he's not putting them in the T.V. series. If you look at the first movie, jedi was not the focus of the movie, it was a heroic story, a fight between good and evil. I stick with my original statement. SW is not about Jedi, It's about story. At least until the prequals, then it was all about the Jedi. If you like Jedi thats cool, but i think you are 100% wrong to say SW IS JEDI.

I went back for about 5 hours total. After some tweeking, i still find this games UI to be terrible and completely unplayable for ME.

Once again, too little too late. Who really cares anymore?
