The Chronicles of Spellborn: Popping Back in on Spellborn
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/03/09 2:07:29 PM
When I tried this game I enjoyed it too -- but the sad truth is, once a game fails it fails... not mater how much money is put into re-development.
I think it's more wise for a company to spend resources on construction a whole new MMO then working on one that failed. |

The true sign of a non-gamer! Does it dawn on people when they post this nonsense that they are speaking of a video "GAME" not a feature film! Its's about game play! Oh wait... The game is too hard for you isnt it?
BellaH I have to disagree. a signgof non-gamer... to some people, they want there games to visually look good. Just as you have your opinion about like a hard game, or a game that plays like Haven&Hearth doesn't mean others will. It's not a matter of being to hard for someone. A game has to appeal to the audience (as a movie lol). So you like hard games, another player might like a game with equal game play and graphics.
I tried Haven and Hearth it's not to hard. But it's not my style. Doesn't mean I'm a non-gamer lol.
And a non-game in my mind would be someone that doesn't play PC games. I consinder everyone who plays, from a Pets on their DS to Heven and Hearth to be a gamer. |

Dead wrong lol??
I'm playing the game.
No there are not "classes" in warrior, thief, mage, ranger... but techincally there are classes... crafting, meelee, rifle, pistols, mutations -- really classes doesn't have to mean warrior, thief, mage, extra blue prints... but in reality there are class don't let the skills you decide to level up fool you otherwise... if you spread you skills wide, you will have defficulty later in game... so if you concentrate your skills... ie maybe melee/pistol or just rifle... so technically you can call those classes
Again scavenging for minerals is grinding and boring as hell, but I do admit the quest are fun... and I like the real time crafting. |

Well the old SWG and UO is sandbox, FE is not. |
|
|
I totally disagree with the classes... they are cookiee cutter..
The skills/attributes are so limited, there isn't very much variation... not many skills/attributes... and there are 2-4 builds that work and the rest don't. |
|
|
The game isn't sandbox at all.... it has cookie cutter classes, and linear quests (but there are a ton of quests)
Crafting is a huge grind... there is no community for craffables or resources... low to mid level characters can make all their own gear...
Basically the game plays like this -- do quests, get levels, then craft your own gear so your equpment matches with your level... repeat and rinse this every 3-7 levels.
Graphics are decent....
No RP, perhaps there's an RP guild. |

All great. But why even have skills then you want a fair playing field? I could care either way. I'm just saying this post is waste of HD space.
Like I said, why even have skills, if everyone is gonna have max.
Darkfall is an epic fail |

It's good that the server is down. Helps the world save on energy. The game isn't worth the power bills to run them. |

Im 100% positive that most will whine soon when reach skill cap now its easy mode:(
General Discussion « Darkfall 9/08/09 8:31:58 PM
Really doesn't make sense -- grinding or making skills easy to level -- why have skills at all, if everyone has max skills and no caps (similar to UO where you can only master 7 skills). With everyone with max skills it's like you typical shooter.... In my mind Darkfall waisted half there production on making skill level system that everyone will have a max in. |

I just pre-ordered the game from the fallenearth website.
Does that mean if I download the client now, I can play in closed beta? |

Any ideas when open beta will be available? any dates? release dates? |

Anyone give this a try? |

Thorns of War is a great indie MUD, with it's own code base and custom client. It's a cross between a Hack and Slash and World Sim.... Mine, fight, construct, diplomacy, craft, build villages, forts and even towns....
Come check it out.... the DEV is currently developing a PVP clan vs clan system.
