SWTOR is still a piece of crap in term of performance (Loading screens everywhere, low FPS). Let's see if GW2 will fix it before the launch. But I can tell you that GW2 has less loading screens... a way less. emm are we on a Tera comments?

1.2 is in fact the 1.0. Beta will end with this patch and I hope they're gonna start fixing bugs.

TERA: Amazon.com Preorder Details
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 4/08/12 12:32:06 PM
well even if I'll go GW2, I think you should not compare this game to SWTOR. I played SWTOR for 3 months and it was like it was still on Beta. A paying beta... embarassing for Bioware, they won't get a "professional" reputation for this game. Tera will be a better game by far, even if it's the same "farming style" pattern. Playing SWTOR was a fight againts de bugs, not against the mobs. They didn't work on the game, I mean there were no updates for 2 months (still nothing at this date). The 1.2 patch will be in fact the real 1.0 and we stlill don't know when it will come. They wanted the game out for Christmas, so... we, the players. paid for that. |

What would it take for you to go back to SWTOR?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 4/04/12 11:16:51 AM
PVE : From 1 to 50, in each quest, you have to kill mobs, and mobs, and mobs again, I remember my thoughts : "bioware really love trash mobs". The amount of mobs to kill was impressive for each quest. Imperial agents have a good story line... I wish I leveled my character to 50 with only class quest. But for the Bounty hunter it was very boring. So how to have interest in dialogue if you are bored? Dialogues are not good on a long term experience. For the rest of the experience, it was like playing WOW but with low FPS, tons of bugs. You know the main problem about bugs? : They don't try to fix them. It has been 2 months without any patch to fix the bugs. For a new game, it is a shame because they should be working hard on that 24/7 and at least fix some important bugs every week.
PVP : I played as a mercenary for most of my experience, since being a sniper wasn't really RP. The range is too short, a shame for a sniper. I know it's MMORPG but well this class is a flop then. So as a mercenary you don't have a lot of defense. You are wearing a 300 pounds heavy armor and you look like a lego block, but you can die in 3 knife shots. Like I said, you don't have a lot of defensive skills so when you get stunned 5 time in a row, you get stunned 5 times in a row. And this is the main problem in pvp right now : it's a stun game. First thing ppl do is to stun because they can do it very often. So if you have 2 guys on you, you will get stunned until you die. PVP is stun or get stunned. Bump or get bumped. And if you are lucky you have an immune spell to both of them, then when you use it, you win. Unfortunatly, mercenaries don't have this immune thing and don't have a counter spell either. So it is not a viable class in PVP. You don't wanna play a weak class in pvp, everyone knows that. about the RP feeling : As a hero, Huge PVP armor, you can die in like 3 secondes 1v1 against a Scoundrel or an Operative. Makes you feel like a real bad ass mercenary. |

yup you're right, because what is under your feet is everywhere.
have you noticed how the sky, the sceneries, the background montains are so beautiful but no work done on the ground? Won't hurt nobody to work a little on it... grass... not a big deal. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Flashpoint - The Lost Island Hands On
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 3/14/12 1:27:06 PM
They should start working MORE SERIOUSLY on fixing the game before adding new content. There are a lot a bugs that need to be fixed since game launch.
I like this game but there is, obviously, no qualified team working on game issues. |

Guild Wars 2: Ascalon Catacombs Dungeon Experience
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/21/12 3:06:59 PM
well you didnt get what i meant, of course it's a fantasy but you need to beleive in what you're doing in that fantasy. Example : I go into a dungeon and I see that monsters are waiting there, doing nothing... well I like to beleive they have something to do all day long. This is the kind of realism I'm talking about... Fantasy or not, I want to see those monster live like if they were real monster, not just "trash mobs". Same thing about fighting a big boss monster, I want to get hurt and feel the consequences. But if I'm a real hero, with talent, this challenge will be easier for me. And if I'm a bad hero (or player), I don't deserve to kill the beast. This is realism and immersion. We don't send a baby to war. Too bad if you don't play well, just learn like we all did when we were noobs. What dosen't kill you makes you stronger, well... when you're gonna resurect, try to get stronger. |

Guild Wars 2: Ascalon Catacombs Dungeon Experience
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/21/12 11:34:01 AM
Well you said the magic word : "progression". Which means you won't get all you want in one day, you will have to work to be a good player. Which takes efforts and time. This is how you will learn to be better, and finaly be able to kill evil creatures. Do I need to remind you that RPG games are all about realism? and immersion? Do you expect to get out of a dungeon without any broken parts of your armor or even a broken leg? Yeah you could expect this, but only when you will become a real hero. Keep working. |

Guild Wars 2: Ascalon Catacombs Dungeon Experience
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 2/21/12 10:52:03 AM
What you should understand is the fact that they don't have to please anyone in this game because it's free to play. Other games like RIFT having a subscription and player whinning like babies so they have to nerf the content, otherwise they will stop the payments. But guess what, people don't pay for this game so it's like any other games. You have to face the content included in the game. In real life you would have to learn the hard way to become a warrior... so if you die 10 times in a dungeon then your are not ready to this fight yet and you will have to go home and come back when you'll get better. It takes time to be a good player but it's possible. Make some efforts for once. We all want realism in a RP MMO game, but if you don't want it, RP Games are not for you.. MMORPG got it? Role play?? Keep playing Star Wars:TOR, which is a really good game for the monotony that makes you feel safe and happy. You'll find plenty of friends just like you, isn't it beautiful? |
