Originally posted by Sanguinelust I'm not sure why you bothered to reply with that statement, as it adds no value to the points or opinions expressed. I found a lot of the comments interesting and appreciated the UI limitation information as that is a negative (although one that could be improved in the future). That said, I have read one too many "I wasn't going to play it but now I am" stories at this point to not take them with a grain of salt. I liked the level of depth and detail provided in each of the section as it wasn't just points provided, it was why the reviewer felt the way they did. Glad to see people making good use of the dropped NDA. Thansk for sharing. |

Welcome to the 12 days download...
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/22/11 12:16:55 PM
Bioware isn't responsible for your internet connection. It has been highlighted before that the beta client is huge; why is it a surprise to anyone that this may take a day or two to download? It's too bad Bioware didn't send out the link to be able to download several days in advance, unlike some companies have done for beta weekends in the past. Oh wait.... |

Some brave Sw:tor fan had the cohones to go head first into the lions den and got shredded to bits lol
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/22/11 5:28:59 AM
This isn't so different from being a hardcore fan of a sporting team and going into their biggest rival's arena wearing your team's jersey and trash talking. Oh wait, yes it is, if you do that in real-life you get pummeled in da' face. If you stick your head in the lion's mouth, I wish you luck. |

My opinion, you can call it a wake up call
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/22/11 5:23:03 AM
The OPs main complaint were the graphics of SWTOR; that should be enough to reveal the lack of depth in what they perceive to be a quality game. Gameplay and immersion > graphics any day of the week for me. |

EQ2 did this years ago. It isn't a big deal as there are usually convenient tools to sync with other players on the same shard/zone copy. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: 5 Things We Love About SWTOR
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/21/11 11:13:22 AM
I agree with the list in theory, although I reserve my judgment based on actual play-time (this weekend from what I've heard). I do love the idea of ALL classes having pets that provide combat support and storyline depth. I have always hated the concept of some classes having pets and others not having them. To be clear, I don't like playing a pet class, but like the added utility being available if I need it to be. |

EA Issues Game Bans for Forum "Misconduct"
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/18/11 9:00:25 AM
I like heavy-handed moderation. People take far too many liberties in how they communicate to others on the Internet, so if someone is being a "bad aple", I'm all in favor of removing them from active forum use for short/long/permenant durations. However, banning players from a game is a bit more serious at is has a financial impact on the gaming company. I can't imagine the management team for SWTOR is looking to decrease day one sales based on people making inappropriate comments on the forums; they want their money. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Drop the NDA!
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/16/11 5:12:44 PM
You can invite 50,000 people to test and form their opinions, but keeping the NDA up controls (legally) what can be published in media/Internet. I actually like this approach and would rather form my opinion from a few hours of play than read a plethora of other people's perspectives on their experience. |

Blizzard CEO Mike: We have a panda for the Chinese market
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 11/15/11 12:30:28 PM
Pandas in WoW obviously means huge grind and cash shop. Obviously. The setting doesn't appeal to me at all, probably because of having tried one too many Oriental-themed F2P MMOs. I prefer Western mysticism and design although I do recognize the beauty of the Asian culture represented. I even enjoyed the kung-fu panda movie, although I don't know if I would be writing that outside of the annonymity of the Internet.... |

Entire MMO Accidentally Deleted by Company
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/15/11 6:18:35 AM
I hope their legal team is better than their software source control managers, as I would expect a class-action lawsuit from the users of the game for loss of virtual goods due to negligence. That is assuming they have no intention of offering refunds, of course. |

Invited for beta. Do I need to instal Origin ?
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 11/15/11 6:13:46 AM
I agree with the OP; there should be no agreement to scanning a PC, network utilization, or other datamining acceptance as part of the TOS for an installer/launcher. If they want to have a separate check-box for users to allow this - great. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect this to be required to use any specific software. |

StarWars 3D coming out in February 2012
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 10/28/11 12:14:29 PM
I don't care for 3-D in general, although I do find it most enjoyable in animated films if I am going to watch a 3D movie. That said, if anyone will find a way to make the special effects even more impressive by adding 3D afterwards, it is Lucas Arts. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Making the Switch?
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/26/11 1:13:38 PM
I'll save my money and buy three games instead of the one price of the collector's edition. Unless a game offers me something extremely beneficial in-game (I'm not a collector and can't stand all of the clutter from items on my desk), such as a mount from level one (Rift got me on this one), I'm out. A "shop" of exclusives is an extremely obnoxious concept as the ambiguity of what it might contain, at launch and in the future, is actually a mental game with the playerbase. I pre-ordered the regular edition and am still quite excited, but I've no interest personally in the C.E. To those who feel they are getting their money's worth, I see no problem and hope they enjoy it. |

Gee... your tentacles smell terrific!!!
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 10/24/11 12:59:22 PM
I was actually very afraid of what I might have found reading this topic. It actually turned out to be pretty interesting (and not at all perverted). I do like seeing attention to detail in the physics of body parts. |

Originally posted by Darkholme I have to agree with this post, although whining is a very common practice regarding any game. If you think the complaints are bad now, just wait until after it is released with the "doom and gloom" predictions how long long until servers are shut down, it goes F2P, etc etc etc. |

My lightsaber is (sharper? brighter? better decorated hilt?) than yours. |
