Pretty sure he just called hell a myth/legend. This makes me giggle.

DCUO Has tons of stuff you can pick up, throw, destroy! It's a lot of fun, too.

Yeah, I've tried HoN a few times myself I just couldn't get into it like I have with LoL. I will agree that HoN stays more true to the DoTA experience. Plus, League of Legends is free so, that's nice.

Anyone else try this game yet? While not an MMORPG, per se, it has a lot of the features one would find an an MMORPG. It's holding me over until a find a new MMO, you might wanna check it out. www.leagueoflegends.com/

I'll warn you it's highly addictive.

Man, if that's true that kinda makes me sad. I would have tried this game out but, if that's the case I might skip it.

Darkfall Online. There's a few netrual crafting only clans out there like, Freemasons, etc. And, since there's no limit to what skills you can learn you could take any crafting or any combination of crafting professions you'd like.

Has anyone else checked this out? Seems like an interesting little project. www.wanderlustgame.com/

Half Old school RPG/Half Diablo-esque dungeon crawler. Haven't played much of it myself. Might give it a go this weekend.

Try out Warrior Epic. www.warriorepic.com/

They're only doing Costume pieces, I believe.

I'm literally testing this as I write this, and my action bar switches are instantaneous. Regarless of which way I change them.

In comparison, one of the oldest World of Warcraft PVP servers only has 149 active guilds currently.  Illidan.

Illidan represent!

Just started playing myself. Got into a good guild, and just really having a balst. I've not yet to find something that just really irks me like so many other people. I dunno, I used to play UO a lot, also. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Check the site daily, don't post often, though. I was actually registered with the site much earlier than this account shows but, they did some kind of big switch back in the day, and my account had gotten deleted, somehow.

Yeah, saw some SS's of that. Too bad it's korea only :( (I think)

Yea, I keep hearing this is the best thing since sliced bread. The only thing that turns me off is no Wifi :(

Do you have any links to how someone might go about playing this over the internet? I might pick it up if it's not too over complicated.

Has anyone cracked any of the other sites codes?

... Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to crap all over this. As I said, this is a MAJOR step forward in the developement of this beloved genre, and a welcomed one at that. I am just wondering if anyone has been feeling like I have, like the majority of the game is being abandoned by the player base. Much like I felt when everyone started grinding for Holocrons like zombies in SWG (which was really the beginning of the end of the golden age of that game). I love the spirit behind the AE, and I love being given the opportunity to create and play in others' creations. I'm just afraid the rest of the game is going to turn into a ghost town based on what I've seen the last couple of weeks.

Maybe it will blow over once the newness of the AE wears off, but a major shift like this in the way a community plays a game is a big red flag for me when I'm an already contented player.

I don't have any hard numbers for ya nolf, but I can safely say that CoH is -and has been- loosing subscribers.  I had noticed it before I ceased play in July '08, and I see no reason why players would have stopped leaving the game since then.

Now if your familiar with the "life-cycle" of products, you can say that this is normal and maybe even expected.  But I believe that this abandonment by players is being amplified by the constant mismanagement of the game.

For example.  My main reason for leaving CoH was the absolute disregard for the PvP portion of the game by the management team.  It seemed that the PvP was showing little improvement with each new issue and nothing fresh was being added.  Compound this with the fact that several bugs were going unfixed.

In the months leading up to July, I had been noticeing more and more the absense of well known players.  I came to find out later that these players had cancelled their subscriptions.  I decided that this was a good idea, maybe until a few new Issues had been released to address my reasons for leaving. I had planned on returning to the game.  Then Issue 13 came out and, figuratively speaking, took an elephant shit on the part of the game I enjoyed most.

nolf, you sound real bumbed-out in your post so I'll end this reply on a positve note.  Champions Online is in the final stages of completion and gaining momentum for release.  I've heard this game reffered to as "City of Heroes 2" on several occasions now.  Maybe your time to leave CoH1 has come.

Have fun in Champions Online. I hear it doesn't have ANY PvP at all.

This is incorrect. There is PvP in CO out of the box.

It will have arena matches. Not the kind of pvp most people really want.

arena matches = dueling = extremely lame and filled with weaksauce & stupidity.

so, NO, no pvp worth a damn or worth mentioning.

out of curiousity... which comics are the ones where heroes go someplace and beat the tar out of each other for fun and practice?

sure isn't the xmen's danger room.

Nah, arenas are a true test of ones skill inside the framework of a games pvp. Ganking is not. Thanks for trying though.

um, arenas are the lamest pvp add on since online pvp came into existence.  no thanks for trying involved.

true pvp has NEVER been in a sterile environment.  but hey, thanks for not being able to answer the question.

I disagree, I've played many, many types of pvp in games and, while randomly ganking people can be fun I guess, it's akin to running up to someone and sucker punching them instead of actually having a 1 on 1 fight with them. Arena (prepared) pvp is a true testament of ones skill inside a games pvp metagame. That's why, ya know, they have tournaments for real life money based on this...lol

On top of this they've all but offically announced they plan to release a villain version of the game in posts, which is undoubtedly going to bring open pvp zones just as City of Villains did in City of Heroes.

Regardless the fact still remains that there will, in fact, be pvp in CO. I hate to come off as aggressive and, I apologize. It just really urks me when people think that randomly running around and fighting people with half their health bars or when you and your friends take on a much smaller group of opposing players as "real" pvp. I agree that I do want this in game because it can create some really fun and interesting moments, however if I had to choosee only one to be in a launch I would choose the more skill dependant arena based pvp.

If you don't think it can be fun check out Guild Wars sometime it's got an amazing pvp system in place, and gank free!

As for your question- you must not read many comics, I guess? Superheroes have been fighting each other for sport (training) and other reasons throughout the history of comics.

Can anyone tell me the specific features that were promised and, are not in the game? Or link me? Thanks.

There is a very good post on here that I don't have the link to that breaks exactly that down. Off the top of my head I can think of things like [insert a lot of skills here], four legged running, learning skills from players, and a lot of NPCs.

Like I said, search around this forum for the thread. Its a good read.

Will do, thank you very much.
