Did you give LOTRO another try yet?

I'm trying to find someone to give it a go with--none of my friends want to be bothered by an 11 Gig download :/

:/

if any..

People don't want to lose gear they worked days/weeks/months on.

Then again, they forget the fact that they can steal stuff that other people worked days/weeks/months to get.

I'd like an MMO on my LG Voyager. Something fun to do in the car or whatever.

I could see it happening when D3/new MMO comes out.

Made my first account in '02 as well. I have no clue on the login though, lol. Although I suppose I could guess it.

WoW has titties. No other game can offer tits.

Sorry for straying off topic, but aren't the 200 series for fucking graphics professionals and/or medical equipment?

My 4850x2's can run absolutely anything maxed out at 60+ FPS. I don't see why you would want to go any higher unless it's for your job.

If they can manage to put the 'perfect game' together, they should have no problem finding a financer.

My suggestion is to ditch the RPG scene and get into L4D.

Friends and I did so, and we're quite pleased with it.

It's more of a mix between Urine and Feces.

You might as well play WoW.

Since I am in the exact situation as you, and we have just about the same criteria and attitude towards MMO's, I figured I'd give my two cents on some of the recommended games.

Asda story: Tries way too hard to be cute. The graphics are horrid, and it looks like it was made in flash.

Rohan: If you have no intention of hacking, don't bother. 99.5% of the community hacks/bots.

12Sky: Cash shop is borderline ridiculous. You pay to be successful in this game. Looks like almost every other 3D MMO out there.

I actually think Fiesta matches what you're asking for, although it's slightly too wanna-be-cute, and has a very childish community. You can find a mature guild that uses Vent, though.

If you had asked this about a year ago, I would have definately said ROSE online. However, the game recently went F2P and I'm not sure how that affected the game overall.

When I used to play, it had:

  • The most mature community I've ever seen in an MMO. Almost all adults 21+, some even playing with their kids.
  • 3D graphics with arrow key movement. It's an oldie, unfortunately, and never had wasd. Maybe that'll change
  • Char. Customization is moderate. Quite a few hair and eyes to choose from, but you couldn't change anything else. But, when you upgrade your equips, it adds a slight tint of shine to it. (A perfectly upgraded piece of armor is nearly blinding :)). You can also add one of seven (there may be more now) different gems to your equips, which also change the appearance of them.
  • Fantasy setting.
  • Moderate population. The main cities are FULL of player shops/players, but the other locations have not too much and not too little people.
  • I'm not really sure what roleplaying is, but I don't think this has much of it. I suppose that depends on the people you befriend though.
  • Friendly, talkative, English-based community. However, supposedly, the game has been recently overrun with pinoys.

Britney's music is getting pretty good now :(

And the reason for WoW's success is mostly because of who made it. Most of the players from  WC3/other Blizzard Titles gave it a big start and it only went uphill from there.

My hats have always gone off to ROSE Online for having a COMPLETELY cosmetic cash shop, with the exception of a few carts (which only improved your traveling speed)

Edit: 22 hour download with 30 open selections. Nothx.

Try Project Powder.

It's a snowboarding MMO.

While I wait for my beloved Earthrise, I've decided to step outside the box and try something I wouldn't normally play.

  • Decent graphics
  • Small, close, friendly community
  • Fair cash shop
  • Free
  • Fairly new

I am very open to any suggestions right now.
