Rift nor Aion is a free mmo. Period. To suggest a trial makes it 'free' is dishonest by anyone pushing that point.

 

This is a list of games that are Free to Play OR Download Now.  The OR is really the pivotal statement there.  Rift and Aion both have options to signup on their site, download the game and play.  If the wording did not include the OR your argument would be valid.

If you go to the homepage and read the text above the list of games there it states:

"Free MMOs to Play or Download Now!"

This does not imply that every game listed there is f2p.

Before posting again I would suggest that you also read our rules of conduct for acceptable behavior when posting on the MMORPG.com forums.  Insulting others and generally being vulgar is not allowed and will earn you a ban.  Especially when you respond to a staff member in that manner ;)

Sorry guys / gals we've been working through some network issues over the past few weeks with servers and a new firewall.  We haven't made any moves to block adblock users.  Soon we should have things ironed out and back to normal.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about but I assume you mean that the BBML editor isn't working properly?  I did notice that the BBML editor doesn't seem to load in FireFox when you use the drop down box under the editor to select it.  We'll get that fixed up.

It's possible if you're using Internet Explorer.  Most newer browsers like Google Chrome and FireFox block these kinds of requests from the client.  In this day and age these kind of assaults on websites are very common and to protect yourself purchase and install an anti virus solution.  Kapersky detected these issues throughout the process while I was fighting it.

Yes over the past couple days I've been fighting a script that was intermittently attempting to serve a trojan to our users of our servers.  We've been clean for a while now but I am still watching this very closely and will continue to do so.  The reported attack site pages you are seeing come from stopbadware.org which work with Google, FireFox and other companies to help inform users of potential problems out there on the web.  Once I am sure that we are free of these issues I will submit to have those urls removed from their blacklist.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused anyone.  I'd also like to emphasize how important it is that people have an anti virus program installed on their computers as these types of scripting attacks have increased in size across the internet monumentally.

If anyone get's anymore alerts from their virus scanners from MMORPG.com please email me at ben @ mmorpg.com with the page you got it on and I will investigate.

Thanks for the help troubleshooting down the issues with the new editor folks.  We're still working on it and hope to get all of the little kinks worked out.

For everyone with the white screen issues are there any javascript errors being reported when you do this?

 I use both FireFox and Google Chrome to view the site and am having no issues.  Try clearing your browser cache and reloading the site.  We've made no significant changes to the site over the past week.

It sounds like maybe the css isn't loading for you guys.  Have you tried a force refresh of the site and maybe clear your site cache to force the css to reload?

edit:  Ok, I uninstalled adblock and it didn't help.  Not working: Ubuntu9.10, firefox 3.5.6.  Site is working on Windows7 firefox 3.5.6.  How's that for weird?

The link to the feature you're referring to has been fixed and was in our content management system and a human error.  I'm not sure anyone on our team uses Linux so testing will be an issue for us to recreate the problem but I'll ask around.

We'll look into fixing this in the new version of the forum editor.
