Nope just the forum.

I did it once on World of Warcraft as they charged me an extra month after I had told it to cancel. The bank refunded it, and my account there was banned as well. So it has nothing to do with a small company trying to be petty. Also the OP didn't try to get a refund from AV via support ticket, as they are allowing refunds up until release and have seen people that have gotten one after submitting a support ticket. So all this talk about offering other channels of refund, and ranting about how a small company handles business is completely moot. |

Lotro feels like a good game - after all

Originally posted by hockeyplayr I am returning as well and this time I hope to max out a toon. I played a long time ago before the F2P and only got up to around level 30 back then. However me and a friend saw The Hobbit and he just bought a new PC and is now downloading the game. He has never played a MMO before so I figured this would be a good game to start on as it is good at sucking a player in and is not to fast paced or anything. Hopefully you are able to play most of the game for free with only spending a little cash at the end, though that is probably not true. I guess I am a "Premium Player" when I check my account, and am not sure what that means. I also purchased the game and Mines of Moria back when I played so hopefully I still have access to those zones. |

Originally posted by Biskop I may give it a shot while I wait for UW, I noticed the beta is free to play though limited which is odd. Is that going to be F2P when it releases? |

I played DF1 for about a year and I like the direction of the new game honestly. I am not sure why so many vets are so butt-hurt over a few safe-zones as it will keep new players around to learn the game and play to end-game. Of course there are some issues, but they will be fixed as stated in last Q & A.

Originally posted by Biskop I may give it a shot if DFO flops, but I find it hard after playing DFO to ever return to a game with no full looting as that just adds to much to the gameplay. Also what is AoW? At first I thought you meant AoC, but noticed after re-reading you said AoW. |

Originally posted by Biskop That wouldn't happen if there was a AAA sandbox title like one of these, unfortunately that will probably never happen. The last good one was back in UO. I have to say though I still love DFO with it's flaws, the peristence bug and server crashes will be fixed before they launch the game obviously so bringing that up is pointless. I would assume most of the issue lies with the debug client and not the release client. |

Great video, though I do agree the snipers need some tweaking. I find it very annoying to spawn, and walk to a ledge and die within 2 seconds of standing there(or in a field). You have to constantly be moving to avoid it.

Great news, I posted this a little quickly without looking at their blog they stated that there lol:

I will definently resub when it launches and will keep an eye on it now! Hopefully they fixed the issues and learned a lot for this new version. |

As a returning player from DFO(stopped about a year ago) will I have to pay for the client of Unholy Wars? It was stated a long time ago that would not be the case for 2.0, but they changed the name again and the announcement I read makes it seem that way :(. After all the crap we went through you would think you just needed to resub and patch and play...

Glad I didn't pre-order and I will wait a while for some patches and anet to be fixed. People that still pre-order are only supporting sub-par development cycles and it saddens me. The terminology of alpha, beta, and retail have changed drastically over the last 5-10 years and is only kept going because of players that support such nonsense. I will buy the game when it is release ready, and this further supports my reason to not pre-order any game anymore. As long as idiots keep pre-ordering games sub-par releases will keep taking place and only get worse(this goes for any game on PC and even some console games now like BF3). Hopefully in a month or so the game will be where it should be on a release and I will then purchase it. To many people have been corrupted to a good release lately and compare this game to disasters such as AoC, Rift, WoW and other releases in the past 5-10 years. This has been a progression since WoW released and has only gotten worse since people pour money into pre-ordering anything that sounds somewhat interesting.

Originally posted by ricefarmer SC1 was much slower paced than SC2 is what I am talking about, I got into SC1's ladder and rated well. Skill is not clicking around on the map to dodge and kite units(that can be obtained from td games), it's the overall strategy of taking resources, where to expand, what to upgrade, what to build, when to attack, when to defend, etc. SC2 turned this into a twitch game which most RTS players do not want. I tried SC2 and played if for about a month online before quitting due to the extreme fast paced/no micro management involved with that. I never mentioned Warcraft 3 but as I said older strategy games had it and meant Warcraft 3 as well. Sounds like your reading comprehension is pretty low... |

I am Kinda disappointed: how is this a MMORTS

Originally posted by zevni78 I never played SG but this game is fun even though it's not what I expected. I will be playing at launch and glad it exists. I can see both points of view. |

Originally posted by Gudrunix This, I prefer slower RTS games and miss them. Very glad EoN is going back to how they should be. SC2/etc is way to fast paced and I don't find it near as fun as the older SC1 or Warcraft series due to lack of micro-management and less strategy. |

"A total persistent sandbox RTS, with elements of browser stratagy mmos may seem like a great idea, but there are clearly technical problems, or it would have been done outside of the limited browser games by now. Trion may be basing this game on a previous game from over 10 yrs ago, but it hasn't been done anywhere else since, and provides some unique features for most players. I would recomend you give this game a serious try, and see if the level of tactics is enough for you."
Honestly there is another game that has peristent worlds with hundreds of players(well use to, now it's dwindled down to small numbers). It's called Artifact and use to play that as a kid, so it has been done in the past and is possible. I like EoN but I as well was actually expecting large persistant worlds since I came from Artifact and never played SG. |

A Mature Player would never Pay or Play this game...
General Discussion « League of Legends - Clash of Fates 7/08/12 11:17:40 PM
Honestly I have a kid and play this game each night for a few hours. I have never once been banned, every now and then I have to go AFK during a game to do something for my son but it has never caused such an issue. You can go AFK for a minute or two and not have any issues in the game so the topic is pointless. I am a single parent and have no issues playing the game. Don't start a game if you can't finish it as I understand why others get mad this happens to me a lot and ruins a game if even one player goes AFK or leaves. This is not a typical online game where you can leave freely and it not effect your team, with such a small amount of players in each game every player matters in the outcome. I just read the OP post and did not read the other pages of posts so I may be off-topic at this point, but basically I am disagreeing with the OP. On the topic of surrendering I have honestly only had this problem on a few ocasions. If the match is obviously lost as long as you speak up before clicking the surrender vote most will vote for the option to surrender. So far out of the games I have played that will obviously lose 70% of the time I am able to click surrender and it passes. Also 20% of the times it does not pass I explain to others it's not possible to win and generally by the second or third surrender vote the match is over. I highly doubt you were ever banned if you did not leave a game or go AFK either, you obviously did go AFK according to your original post and thus cause the ban considering the point your trying to get across. In most normal online games it would be ridiculous for such a ban however in a game like this every player counts being only 3v3 or 5v5 in matches. Obviously anyone would be pissed off after the 10th game played in the 5v5 match and they lost just because one or two people went AFK or left the game. So why should the game not punish you because of such an action? If you don't like that fact, then simply leave and play any other game on the market that you can leave when you need to(funny thing; If you leave any MMO during PvP your character will die as effect of the 10-20 second logout rule). |

Twitch so far, I can pop out of stealth and gank people. Usually getting a doublekill or triple kill later in the game, can't beat getting player kills lol. |
