No, a "reboot" is not needed. A new advertising campaign would be a great idea though. There are 0 bots in ESO now, 0 gold seller spam, and quests have been fixed. There is a new issue of fps loss in Cyrodiil (pretty f'n major), but other than that ESO has come a long way during the first 3 months.

Bots and Gold Sellers only stick around in games in which they can make a profit due to the population purchasing the Gold from them.  No population = No Sales = Bots and Gold Sellers go to next Game they can Farm.

Here's my 2c from a long time DAoC, WoW, WAR player.

Stopped reading there...

ESO is totally different than those 3 you name. ESO was build to be a PvE MMO all around questing, while the ones you played are made with PvP in mind.

Judging by his post, he clearly believes its the other way around.

These PvP'ers will be the death of MMORPG's.  They don't understand them, and as such, do nothing but complain about them.

It's so bad, I had to make a sig about it.

 assuming generalizations its not good.

the repliers forgot that the developers didnt allowed players from each faction to visit the PvE content of other factions and initially everyone would meet each other at the Cyrodril. But community was against it, and they well done, so the developers at the end allowed players to visit other faction's PvE content but they added also the Vet system.

ESO was NOT focused to become a pveMMO, thats why they made a HUGE CENTRAL map for PvP...   And in my opinion this is where the Dev's failed.  They had a pipe-dream to recreate DAOC utilizing the wealth of history and player base of the Elder Scrolls games which does not revolve around PvP.  If they were dead set on implementing PvP then they should have done it on a much smaller scale and scaled up the PvE side.  As it is now I don't think ESO will last to long and that is a shame.

also from the first MMOs there is the pvp open world element, without it there is no MMO, its called a coop game. If there are not the basic elements of building a society, which means the availability to become a criminal with all its consequences, then you dont have a MassiveMultiplayOnlineRolePlayGame. These are fundamental principles which dont represent FPS alaCounterStrike but MMOworlds alaUltimaOnline.   If you think that "the basic elements of building a society" is to "become a criminal" and if you can't do that then you do not have a proper MMO then I do not want any part of a game of that sort.  For me those are "not" Fundamental principles at all, it is catering to a small percentage of the gaming communities and when it is implemented... the game dies.

No, it's time for Bethesda to make an Elder Scrolls 6 that's all of Tamriel with a multiplayer mode. That's what many people want - Skyrim/Oblivion/etc. with friends, not a DAOC style game.

Truth!  They should have never created an Elder Scrolls Game in the form of DAOC.

Edit... oops looked liked I was all for the way they created the game... did not mean to do so.  Always proof read. :)

I log in today and click an on a link.  My browser pops up 3 new window tabs for unrelated crap.  I can back click to the previous screen but if I pretty much click on ANYTHING I get multiple windows cropping up about gaming stuff.

I don't know when you guys did this but if it keeps popping up garbage windows then I'd done visiting this site.

I'm 55 years old and I'll most likely play until they carry me out toes first.

My Mother plays D3 and some other games as well and she's 85.

Who did you pre-order from?  I ordered mine at Green Man Gaming and got 20% off the top and before I left the Green Man Gaming site I had  my key in my inbox.

Can we please just get rid of all these "League of Angels" adds?  They should read more like "League of Harlots" or perhaps "League of Streetwalkers".  Can MMORPG live without having to post adds like this?

Bought 3 Alien's before I picked up my CyberPower to save a few bucks.  My CyberPower is quite nice and never had a problem with it.  I'm quite satisfied with it and may pick up another one from them in a year or so.

Sorry you had issues with yours.

Love to get into WildStar Beta.... but I won't do the "Weekend events".

Give me a key for the real Beta then I'll log in, otherwise I'll wait for Open Beta or when it is released.  I'm sick and tired of contests, people streaming and just before they give a key away 1000's of people logging in swooping in for the "kill" and basically I'm tired of jumping through hoops to get a golden key.

Good luck to those that manage to snag a key.

Dunno.... a link would be nice so we could see what you were talking about.

luck of the draw I guess. I was lucky enough to get a stress test beta key last weekend and was lucky to be 1 of the 40,000 who got a beta key yesterday

I don't have a problem with this. More power to you.

But what truly grinds my gears is how many of these game companies are so very slow to offer a glimpse at the game for no immediate monetary gain, if they offer it at all, but are so quick to fill up your e-mail inbox with requests to pre-order or even purchase the game post-launch.

Where were you when I still had the hype surrounding the game?

Where were you when I genuinely wanted to get my feet wet before the onslaught did?

Where were you when there was a RISK in letting a stranger to your enterprise beta test your product?

No [insert game company here], you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Maybe I think of things from a cynic's point of view, but that's just how I rationalize. If a game invests in me early enough, I will 100% without doubt invest back into it. It's just my simple sense of give and take. This is why I never paid for TERA or Darkfall: Unholy Wars. They both never invited me. But games like Guild Wars 2, Diablo III ESO did; I'm sure they're happy to have gotten my money. And if Wildstar decides to not invite me, I will take it personally and treat it in accordance.

No offense but your complains are without merit.

If you signed up a year ago for beta you signed up very late.  Closed beta started 11 months ago.  Sign ups for beta started in 2011. Almost every person that signed up for beta in 2011 got an invite last summer. People have been following the game and contributing on fansites since 2009.  To jump in as late as you did and then feel bad you did not get a beta invite is not very realistic as there was 500k people ahead of you by the time you signed up.   That being said I hope you get in.  The game is likely 5+ months from release.  They will be inviting a lot more people and you will likely have an opportunity to play long before release.  Hang in there and be patient.  Eventually your time will come.

I signed up for Beta pretty much the first day it was offered so I guess I fall into the excluded portion of the "Almost every person" group you mentioned.  I have never received any sort of invite for any of the Beta stages or for any of the weekend events.  Right now, I'm simply sick and tired of even attempting to try to get a Beta key and I won't even bother with doing their "weekend events" even if they give me a key for one of them.  Give me a real Beta key and I'll log in.... give me a temp key and I'll delete it.

At least when it is released I can play it from a fresh point of view and enjoy it all the more.

No key and could really care less at this point in time.  I'm tired of waiting for the lucky golden ticket, entering endless contests, jumping through hoops, watching endless hours of people jabbering away thinking they are funny or streaming "non-wildstar" games to force you to follow them on the off chance that you may be the lucky one out of several thousand people that obtains the only key they have to give away.

As much as I would like to get into this game and play with it, I'm to the point now that even if they did give me a key I doubt I would even use it.

I will still pick up WildStar once it is released but until that time it is pretty much a dead subject to me.

This may seem a "whine" post to some but it is more of a "I'm bone weary of the endless waiting and sick and tired of the contest "give-aways"."

Those that got in... congrats.

Ya know... I'm still planning on playing this game but I'm rapidly loosing long term interest in it.  I think I will just wait for the release then I may give this a go.

The servers are currently down and they are putting in a patch.  Hopefully they will be up shortly.  The downtimes since last night's launch were very minimal only a few seconds at a time.  Overall, very nice for what we have to play with.  There are a lot of bugs and some can be detrimental to  your character... but still well worth the time to check this title out.

Yech! How many whine threads are there going to be?  Why keep making an endless stream of them?

Simple fact... You like it?  Then buy it.  Otherwise don't buy the title.  In a month all this will be pretty much forgotten and a new batch of whine threads will start for the next title in the pipe-line.

I am a $250 dollar supporter. The game lore so far looks very good and I am liking the direction they are going in.

Claims are 70m x 70m x 100m tall and currently about 1mile deep.  You can stake out multiple claims if you like but you still have to pay an upkeep fee every x amount of time.  You can place claims adjacent to your existing claim but someone else cannot do so.  You cannot build over or under a neighboring claim.  The size of claims are currently in flux and may change in size before open beta.

Land will never be an issue.  If a land mass becomes to full then they will create a new server for people to build in.

People will be able to travel to different servers to farm materials, adventure in or just to view other people's creations.

You can purchase templates on one server and then bring them back to your server to use.

You can sell your templates to other players for in game coin or put them up for sale for real money on the player station site.

On the Alpha wipe you will loose everything except any Templates you have created.

When closed Beta ends you will loose everything except all you Templates and harvested crafting materials.

When open Beta starts every thing will be locked in.  Not sure of a character wipe but you do keep all your templates and materials.

This game has a ton to offer people who love crafting.

I was not going to pick up ESO due to the direction they took.  However with the pre-orders given the ANY Race on ANY Faction I think I will pick up a copy.  If nothing else, it may tick off all the "doom-sayers" and all the "outraged posters" which would make me happy.

The simple fact is this...

If you find value in something then purchase it.

If you don't find value in something then don't purchase it.

Yep... think I'm going to go get me one of those nice shiney pre-orders now.

I think everyone here either does not know about or has over looked what I consider a major "Pro" for WildStar.  WildStar will support "Add-Ons" and there is already a Add-On community creating all sorts of new widgets you can load up and use.  WildStar also has a very deep crafting system which is superior to ESO's crafting system.  Also, the Housing system is bar none the best I have ever seen in a game to date.

If people would look into WildStar and see past what they perceive as cartoony graphics then they may see something that has depth and enough content to keep players involved for years to come.

Just putting my 2 copper in here since I think people are overlooking some nice features that shine in WildStar.

Here it is in a nut shell.

Everyone is offered the same pre-order choices.

If you want the fluff that they offer in the higher costing pre-orders then buy it.  If you don't want the fluff in the higher costing pre-orders then don't buy it.  Don't complain about what your "neighbor" buys, you made your decision for what ever reason... live with it.
