Interesting.... They were going for a diff progression system... Man! That would be interesting! Instead, because of the players, we will again have levels and wow and eq2 and aoc and crap! Yeah, I heard those rumors waay back - WAR being a level-less game... and that originally made me stand up and notice it.

However, the REASON Barnett gives for introducing levels is quite valid - instant recognition of relative player power.

The impression I get from WAR at this point is that it actually is a "level-less game in disguise". You're supposed to reach max level pretty fast when the real progression begins in the form of renown ranks, guild ranks, tome unlocks etc. In addition the power level curve is supposed to be quite a bit less steep that the norm. No "level 30 has no chance whatsoever against level 40 here".

I suppose tiers 1 and 2 are going to go by so fast you can consider them a tutorial part of the game. At tier 3 the chicken mechanic doesn't work anymore so it is reasonable to assume that a T3 character has a chance against a T4...

In addition T4 areas are almost as large as all the other tiers put together (or maybe much larger) so I suppose WAR will try to get you to the "level-less" part of the game as fast as possible and keep you there.

Renown ranks start at early stage.  It is not a leveless game, the grind of grinding levels and renwon ranks starts preety early, and no it is not easy to level up, shall i tell you why?  Because before the focus testing started I actually tried my hardest to lvl up a choppa the highets i got to was lvl 30 and that was just a pure pure pure grind like ive never seen.  Made my eyes bleed.

Lol!  You're over shooting with your prediction.  It's highly doubtful that it will be beyond November.  Mark Jacobs himself has repeatedly said that it will definitely be released this fall.

Thats why i said  I think november-december, and may be January.

Exactly what Failcom said, I remebr how they gave a huge video about 200 NPC;s attacking player cities lol.  I just dont beleive anything anymore, unless its in the game at launch.

They are only this week starting guild beta and end game pve dungeions and cities.  So i highly doubt the game launch date will eb set at E3, I think the game will release in middle of november to the end of December imo, even January next year may even be likely.

Well in regards to Diablo 3, look at this video, and scroll to 8.04 and watch the boss just tear the barbds head off.  That just sounds and looks insane.  This is a fully armourmed barb as well.  So much for aoc having so called blood and violence lol.

The only decent fps game with vehicles and and air combat is BF2, if u dont mind not having vehicles, nothign beats COD4, proper game.

The fact is, the hype around this game is huge, and mmos when warcraftlaunched werent  as big as they are now, so it may well just beat wows opening days sucess.  Only success will be if they can manage to gain ateleats 500k subs and sustain that for a good 3 years+, alos once it gets the fastest sellign pc game of all time then maybe, until then its more hype than anything, as shown by the vanguard bugs and problems in beta.

Wow is not an overnight success, they spent years researching into the development of the game, its been 7 years+ since the game was first devlepoed, no wounder they have the sucess they do.  Plus they had never made an mmo b4 and absolutley no experience, funny how all these so called mmo companies cant even compare to blizzards development teams.

Funcom has made it near impossible to reach 500k-1Million players, but this means the game needs to be a quality product to do well.  Which means, I'll be playing it.

Even a guy at work said "I've got a 3 year old, I'm not going to play this in front of my children." and he plays Warcraft because its much less violent.  The community is going to be pretty bad in AOC, which is why i'll probably play an assassin and play alone.

I guess you havnt played either beta, with the children runnign around in game and on general chat.

Eveevryone and anyone who can and wants to play the game will, be it 9, 10, 11-70. anyone and everyone who wants to play it will. You talk about families not goign to play, lol all the rp were saying how they and their families were going to play wow.  Also you think Fps game sales for example are driven by 30+ year olds?  Go play cod4 some sweeedish 11 year old nerd will probably kill u in 1 second flat.  HOW MANY TIMES, even adults act like.

Funny thing is the fanbois were telling us for years and months AOC was going to destroy it and it will revolutionise the mmo market LMAO. So much for that theory.  While you keep saying wow will die, it actually gets stronger and stronger, so yoy shoudl ask what other so called next gen mmo wil die faster than wow lol.

Yes, there is even a command such as instance selection, which you can chose to go to another copy 0of that zone.  So abit like eq2 numbered instances and gw numbered instances.
