imo, we are talking about 3 niche games that will do very well but will all remain in their respective little corners.  FFXIV isn't really aiming to be the king of mmo's, they have a loyal following from both FFXI and the FF franchise.  GW2 is a bit over-hyped right now and will be a slight disappointment to the masses when they remember that its a sequel to GW and was never even in the same league or sport as the king of mmo's.  Sweator will do the best of the three games drawing from 2 strong fannases, star wars fans and fans of EA purchased companies.  I expect Sweator to break 1 million subs and hover around that mark for the next decade.  Sweator will be very successful but will never reach the levels WoW has.

I'm sure Bioware is compantent enough to make a good quality well balanced game.  If you don't realize this I suggest that you go and play a few of their amazing games.  I think it's insulting to Biowares track record to bash TOR before it has even been released.  No this game is not going to be SWG and nor should it be.  If you want this game to be SWG expect to be disapointed, if you want to play another great game made by Bioware expect to be pleased.

GG Darkfall...

I really find it hard to believe that Darkfall could ever be more fun than bitching about Darkfall cause serious I've been having a fantastic time reading all this bullshit over the past few weeks.  Keep up the good work everyone!

 epic post?

 whats darkfall?

I feel that some way all of the companies listed have failed me in some way.  I am really excited to read people freaking out when EVE isn't on the list.

I just want a game where the goal isn't grind to max level as fast as possible and then wait in queues for the next two years until a better mmo to comes out.

I have never understood why mmo's refuse to have storylines.  Make leveling a fun experience like oblivion or Fallout 3.  Make me want to follow the story.  Make me enjoy my gametime.

Why do people enjoy a world like oblivion?  You are part of the world, you can change the world, you can be whoever you like.

It doesn't matter that Oblivion isn't an mmo.  It matters that oblvion has created a world that is fun and enjoyable.  Can a game like oblivion ever be translated into an mmo?  Probably not but I think someone  could come close.  You wouldn't be able to have the same impact on the world that you can in oblivion but I don't see any problem with the other elements of oblivion being translated over.  Maybe if we all cross our fingers some modders will create oblivion the mmo some day.

I would greatly appreciate a trial account invite.  Really hope someone has one to throw my way.  saretsky@gmail.com

by your hippy logic every single game ever made should be rated 10/10 based on the fact that at some point in time it might happen to get fixed and improved.  Go back to your drum circle and keep you flawed logic off the internet.

ZOMBIES

It will be very hard to do anything that would keep a good balance of power between factions without making players mad.  I mean they could have factions limit recruitment or give weaker factions some sort of advantage but this would obviously piss players off.  I mean if your playing the game you should havre the choice to join any faction that you want and all players should play on a level playing field.  it will be interesting to see if anything is implemented into this game to help balance out all the factions.

The webpage is much easier to look at when nt plastered with that harsh Deep blue.  As much as I realise this is an april foold joke, I do hope that they switch up the overal color scheme when it's time to change everything back.

Zombies alone make this game awesome.
I would think that game progession would keep the economy alive.as long as technology slowly improves over time the economy will never become stagnant.  Items will already be scarce enough with crafting occuring in real time.  Item decay not going to be very popular on a vehicle that required 4 weeks of crafting.

Really the only down side to this game currently is that everyone is going to try and name their character Madmax.

I like the idea that you can't solely be a crafter, that you are going to have to see the world and are probably going to need a few combat skills.  The best part of this is going to be that you will still be able to max out the crafting side of your character while still being able to hold your own in a fight.  Sure you won't be able to hang with someone who ahs spent all of their points in combat but you probably won't be sending your crfater into the pvp areas all that often.

As for items being destroyed or looted off your corpse, I am completely against the idea.  I agree with item being worn out and requiring repair but completely losing your items would just plain suck.  i think it would be cool if you needed to get your weapons repaired by another player in game and the higher their crafting skill then the better job they can do repairing and in some cases maybe even leaving your weapons in better condition then when they were brand new.

game looks awesomeand I hope to see a beta announcement in the near future.

I have not done a great deal of research into this game, but it sounds to me like the lvling system will be very similar to stawars galaxies back when it was popular.  I say this because in SWG you could achieve maximum lvl by simply crafting or you could have your character as focused in one area as you would like or have skills branching out over seceral different areas of the game.  To me the key for this games success is going to be how the enhancements (or whatever they were called) tie into the skill system and how much they will be able to make your character unique.

Very excited to see how this game progresses and am very happy to see a game that isn't so heavy on the fantasy.
