I'll be on different descruct classes until there is an Order class that doesnt look like every other dwarf and elf and man in every other game I have ever played. Well that and when they ever pull that stick out of the BW's backside.

Is THAT what that pain in my ass is???

*Laughs*

I play BW, but I play 1st person so I do not see myself.

And I am to much on the move and looking for targets to worry about what others look like.  Other than as victims.  :)

By the way, if you want a real challenge, play RvR in 1st person.
Gives a whole new meaning to Situational Awareness.

Good Hunting

Cheers Shoal

Glad to see youdidnt take my mini slam on your class of choice too hard ;). I actually like the BW lol until I have to move and then all i ever could think about was man this toon moves stiff.

Bah what challenge is there as a 7' tall BW in first person. Head on over and run first person with a greenskin and eyeballs 2' up off the ground. Of course running around in first person as a goblin type means your targeting everything through everyone elses backside.

Happy trails Shoal and good hunting to you as well. Perhaps it might be well met on the battlefield.

I'll be playing core. Theres only 40lvls to the game, being able to go down 1 tier thats huge. It was a big enough deal to have lvl11's with some tier2 reknown gear in tier1 to toughen up the fight. A big enough deal I did it myself at lvl11. Now throw in peeps +10lvls/skills/gear you'll never be able to enjoy the area that matches your current tier/lvl.

Sure there might be some content Ill miss but thats cool. Ill just be happy that the next character I would set up has something still fresh in the game.

I also think core will have better pvpers. Pvpers looking to have their skill as a player be the difference as compared to the real carebears who only jump forward when they have 10 lvls on the other guy.

2cents.

Housing in lotro IMHO was a failure. As well it shows how Turbine developes their game, if we have to do this lets do it on the cheap and easy.

Over all I seen housing done way better in the early 2d mmos. Todays developers should just pay the developers that have gone before them a stipend. Back in the day developers worked hard to get all aspects their product unique or better than the other game company. Whereas today companies like turbine just go lets pinch this idea or that idea and do a cheap and easy mockup, quick test, now ship. LOL then release the marketing ninjas to slap the unruly crowd with pitchforks at the gate, telling everyone over and over again be patient, be patient, this isnt the final housing layout its just a 'framework'.

Turbine doesnt have player housing as much as they are the slum lords of a company run trailer park. You buy in, you pay a rental 'pad fee' and everyones can choose trailer 1a,2b,3c then choose item a or item b then they can place it slot 1 or slot 2. Player housing in Lotro is dull, uninspired and done on the cheap and easy. BTW turbine its getting close to a year out on housing maybe its time to actaully fix broken static hooks, its not like there was much choice to start with and having broken hooks that dont display items or only display a part of the item once again goes to prove a point you cant be bothered with housing with the exception of releasing marketing ninjas to crow about how great it is.

Can someone please comment on crowd control in pvp.

Is it designed more just to throw a wench into the other guy  or is it more like the chain mezz gang gank hell of lotro?

As well any comments on stealth.

Cheers

Ouch.  That really sucks.  Maybe they'll do something like they did with Delving of Fror, and add another instance within Ettenmoors.

I'm wondering why someone play LotRO as a full time creep though.  You're really missing out on the rest of the game.

Cheers Observer,

I haven't missed the rest of the game. Hehe you could even say, I've see the whole game and thats probably why I'm a full time creep. I have the lvl50's, the gm crafters, tons of rep, 4/6 rift with dkp in bank to finish it up if I cared too. I never  last more than a minute or two on the pve side and its straight back to creep mp. Its been that way after the first month the game went live, lvl the toon then parked him unless the kinship would drag me kicking and screamin from the ettens.

Although as a full time creep I'm the first to admit the Ettens has gotten very stale and just as static as the rest of the game. Thats why I'm disappointed theres no expansion of zones. As far as what the devs have to say on what their changes will be to tweak the Ettens. Lots of hot air and marketing. After all its mvmp. Lotro doesnt do anything in the Ettens unless their hand is forced. This last book creeps got emotes and both sides diminsihing returns. Something they said they would look into and institute back when it  all went live on Arwen. So 18 months later is appears. The big ettens expansion the Delving from the creep prespective is just a barely used underground dead zone for forced pve for pot mats.

So while I'm grateful the devs shot straight on this, informing us all that once again pve is their priority and mvmp players stay back burner. Thats cool. My fun money will sit on the sidelines for Warhammer and anything Lotro will be just to log and chat up my old creep buddies.

Cheers and much respect Observer.

I think my favourite Protus moment was when he declared he deleted all his characters as a protetst against the institution of Bind on Equip. He starts to rant... "Lack of understanding is what boe does."

Then peeps start to help him out a bit, then it dawns on him...

Protus-Aoc if your out there that was pure comedic genius. Cheers and good luck with your new toons.

In a quirky kinda way I wasn't in the least bit surprised that funcom was hard at work on Christmas retail boxes.

Funcom just never ever stops shooting itself in the foot. Furthermore as mentioned earlier, they're at E3 of all places and no game showcased. Bang the other foot just been hit.

AoC is just like the big fancy steak dinner.

When your food arrives all you see is a raw steak medallion a roasted potato cube and a big empty plate. So you keep shelling out for a la' carte.

Or just say screw this and head to McDonald's on the way home to eat something filling.

I cancelled as well. I can see the potential but thats what investors pay for when developing a game.

Too much is broken or missing. Funcom just seems to shoot itself in the foot at every step. Furthermore as others have mentioned this game does not have the feel of a mmo. It feels exactly as its been developed for a  pc/console cross platform.

Oh hum, thats enough piling on Funcom I do wish them well but I dont think I'll ever sub for this title.

 -edit-

I forgot to answer the OP's question, where I'll put my gaming time? Since I upgraded the vid card and upped the ram for AoC I might as well put it to good use and I'll revisit Bioshock, CoD4 along with my current favorite Sins of a Solar Empire.

Greed and fear.

First off Funcom stock has done quite well. This year's low point dipped under $20.00 its high point tapped over $50.00. Thats greed, it's a double and any savvy investor will profit take. When is the best time to profit take? At a high point and thats what Funcom's chart shows. Whether Funcom hit it out of the park or fouled out its too soon to say until revenue streams are available. Investors seen a high point on a double and took cash thats all that chart shows.

As far as how investors react to Funcoms stock going forward? Theres still more room for profit taking.  The stock price is still high. Considering the low point of the year this current stock price is still a double from low point and there's still good share volume to get in or out of the position.

The dark cloud on the horizon though is Funcom's 1,055 x P/E and .04 cents per share; should this share price tank its gonna tank real hard. Furthermore over the 2 year chart you can see an example of how hard it can tank.

Cheers

This is only a suggestion so please dont run out and buy until you get more opinions.

But I would suggest you bump to 4 gig ram. Vista will try and use all your current ram at 2 gig. Even with your sys stripped deep down you know MS will try and get it all back on your harddrive one way or another 8/

I just picked up a 8800GT card the price is dropping. As well it plays aoc just fine. I have a dual core as well amd x64.

Cheers and GL

Holy crap, who let the whiny bitches out of their cages this weekend? 3rd forum post that needs cheese

Game is not that broke to begin with. Miracle patch promise = Sigil not Funcom.

Have you not been reading the patch notes blind person? they've done more than put frikkin dance in.

True they also fixed freckles.

As well look over the box and the EULA and sometimes when you log in. It will say something to the effect- 'Quality of the game play may vary.' That line was put in generally for all the 56k modem bunch all up in arms when dsl and cable started up. But it is vauge enough to cover their backside on a ton of issues.

cheers all

Conan doesn't look half bad with a dress and a little face paint.

Beware if you send drinks over to the 'lady' at 2am in the Thirsty Dog. The '2 o clock 10' might just have alittle rank 200 raid boss in them.

I think part of the problem funcom now has is you can never give someone a second chance on a first impression. Thats what all the damage control is about.

Whether this is another 'AO' launch or as some peeps would like to think a Vanguard release one big problem is to be even compared to those launches is a tough hole to fill. Whether the preception is true or not.

I think funcom will pull it off, but then again when I registered my preorder I didnt buy any extra time or cancel any other mmo sub to play AOC.

cheers all

I think the problem was we all thought we were going to stress test AoC server load and ended up stress testing the number of times our comps would cold boot to safety mode two weeks from launch.

AOC stress test= filling the first 20 client crash comment boxes all caring and informative like;  then filling the next 60 client crash comment boxes with "screw this".

To be fair AoC did patch the client and it is running  much better.

I now can see some potential. Enjoyed a few of the quest lines and  got pawned by a tiger because i was staring off into the water. IMHO its still to early to tell how the  pvp is going to be. With necro I sucked with demon I rocked go figure.

It's going to be an interesting launch. Added bonus the aocboi/wowboi flame war is a classic and almost worth the price of admission.

cheers all
