Whichever one got bored first and quit. Seriously neither of these would kill the other if either had half a brain. |
|
Sorry sir but this is incorrect. Player versus Player is not Realm versus Realm. Sure, wow has PVP, everyone kills each other, never working together except maybe in AV which is more PVE than PVP... but otherwise it's never to defend a keep, tower or position. The last time I saw any "world pvp" in WoW was when BC released and folks were trying to do the quests in Hellfire. Now-a-days you'll never see more than a handful of people bothering in an entire day. There is a HUGE difference in WoW PVP and Warhammer RVR. |

So, will high elves be the least popular class?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/20/08 11:03:53 AM
Not sure what world you're in but on the server I've played the balance of players has been pretty even. I've played the 3 order races and I've not noticed a lack of any race or class being played. I think you're more basing this on previous polls. I seriously doubt those polls will compare in anyway to what happens on retail. As many people have said people said the same thing during WoW beta and look what happened there. |
|
Sandbox? um, WoW is not anything remotely sandboxy so why are you comparing it to WoW and then saying sandbox? WoW is shallow. WoW's engine is of lower quality than Warhammer's. End game is RVR. Lol, depth... sandbox. Sorry funny. |

any beta testers wanna talk to me about crafting?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/19/08 7:20:32 PM
Apothecary isn't so bad. It makes some useful buffs if you want them. I tend to make healing pots for my tank friend. Not sure how useful it is at higher levels. I will say that cultivating absolutely is terrible. To make 4 plants at level 1 you will spend 12 minutes. 3 minutes per plant and at each minute apply water/soil/fertilizer per plant at the appropriate time during the growth process. They really need to change it bigtime. Just allow me to apply soil/water/seed in one batch and hit make. Unless cultivation changes I say skip it for sure unless you got hours of time to waste. Scavenging and butchering much better. You just use it on a corpse and you're done. 2 seconds. |

Macros like in WoW...not supported here. Your opinion?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 8/19/08 5:00:12 PM
nate, so wrong. Yes, you can do cast sequence macros. All it does is cast a sequence of spells in a order you wrote them in each time you mash the button. Healers don't use macros like that. They use targeting macros for mouse over or the like for sure but that's about it. The macro system is WoW is not a single button masher. It allows you to do some fancy targeting (good thing since wow targeting blows if you're a healer) and cast a sequence of abilities without taking up 5 button slots. However, none of this matters in Warhammer since the macro system just allows you to issue the existing slash commands and far as I know there is no /cast or /use. |

Well, you do now. |

This is the bit that doesn't make any sense at ALL. People say a company (a organized business that pays people to do a job) can't moderate a forum effectively yet a FAN site (i.e. not a organized business that gets paid for a job) can? See a problem there? I've been playing MMOs since UO and I won't bother visiting fan forums over official forums. Even with the mess the WoW forums are they are better than fan sites. |
|
And yet you somehow think a non-official forum will be any better? Not only do you have to deal with paying customers but every Tom, Dick and Harry that isn't. Seriously what lunatic spread this lie that people are buying into that a fan forum is better than official. |
|
Just look at what crap Vanguard is, forget Warhammer! Makes as much sense. WoW isn't the only game with forums and just because they are not moderated doesn't mean it can't be done. Why people seem to think some random fan site is any better than official forums is beyond logic or reason. Herald is great, but it doesn't link to all the posts the devs and folk make that are just as important. |

The Cuts Deviate Too Much From The Original Concept; Not The Same Game Anymore

Let me say just this one thing, you don't speak for me and thus "US" in your post. Thanks. |

Delay is STILL an option - Mark Jacobs

Here is a thought, don't buy the game till the delayed classes and cities are in. |

Mythic explains RvR with 2 captial cities
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/14/08 1:44:32 PM
What you should do is just not buy the game till it has all 6 cities and the 4 delayed classes to prove your point. |
|
Yeah, god it really destroyed Blizzard when they cut hero classes and siege warfare and world pvp. |
|
|
Not sure why all the angst over the balance of realms issue. DAoC did well balancing the populations of realms. Why speculate about any system you have no control over and an issue that might not even be an issue thanks to Mythic's previous experience. |

What ever happened to taking things at face value?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/13/08 5:16:01 PM
Problems? They are delaying content. How is that a problem. WoW delayed hero classes and siege warfare ... 4+ years and when they add it they are just adding a single hero class and hopefully siege warfare. God forbid Warhammer does half as well as WoW. Want to talk bad planning, WoW... 2 years for an expansion, seriously? Again look how it's affected WoW... uh 10 million subscribers... damn must be terrible. It's better to have working and fun content than AoCish content. If you don't agree then well you're in the minority there. If it bothers you so much then just wait till the 4 classes and cities exist and create your own "delay". |
|
You people are just looking for something to moan about. You haven't received ANYTHING. The game isn't out and is still being developed. They TOLD you the changes they were making and if you're not happy cancel. How frigging simple is that? Obviously not simple enough for you people that can't grasp the concept you actually haven't even PAID for the game yet and you know what is being delayed/removed! |

Okay, Another Question for Those Who Pre-Ordered from Amazon
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/13/08 1:56:47 PM
Not sure why you wouldn't get the email from Gamestop. Every person I know ordered from there and everyone of them got an email containing all 3 codes. Now if you went to a store front that's another matter but EBgames.com or GameStop.com work exactly like I explained. If you actually want the game at your house on time I would never order from Amazon.com. |

If War releases before WOTLK, I'm all for content cuts
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 7/13/08 1:47:57 PM
I just want a fun game to play. Don't care a huge amount when it comes out though sooner would give me something to do! Almost all the people I've played with in WoW are going to Warhammer when it comes out regardless of WoLK. If Wolk had made it before Warhammer that would be the only time we'd mess with it. We want something new and with some world PVP! |
|
If the cut classes/CCs bother you so much just cancel your pre-order. It's very simple. You aren't getting ripped off, just don't pay for it. If Mythic hadn't mentioned their plans to begin with you'd not even know about it. They planned to have 6 CC's, it didn't happen that way. So what you got 2 and 4 more coming later. This is a big reason a lot of companies are loath to release ANY information about a game in development. You freaks take is as gospel. |
