Because Rules ARE Rules =)

Could you be anymore of a twit? Rules are rules! Grow a pair.

UO, the first popular MMO was a sandbox....they're quite old. Older than theme park MMOs. They're just niche games. Theme park games are more popular because they are straight forward and easy.

Just stick with your char. You can still focus and you're already better off than a reroll.

Now I dont understand, how would someone know that whoever you are trading or taking in free items from is a hacker O.o

Does CCP provide all the EO players with a hacker detection tool ? (sarcasm)

Because "if not" I can see very little proof that the above player is indeed the hacker of the initial account. All the transaction really indicates is that players are greedy and will ALWAYS accept free items when they are offered.

PS. I would really like to know how this turns out so please OP do update us when you can.

You know, if someone gave you a bag of drugs to hold and the police caught you with it, you would be getting in trouble.  There isn't no such thing as a free lunch and getting something for nothing or next to nothing should be the first red flag.  It's like people who buy items for pennies on the dollar who are "surprised" when they find out it's stolen.  The police will bust you for possessing stolem goods in that case as well.

Protect yourself by not being a patsy.  Wise up.

Did you just compare an in game virtual item to drugs? People often give things away in games for little or no return. Maybe that plan on leaving said game or whatever.

Harden the fuck up

Free Trial?
General Discussion « Darkfall

My main issue for wanting a trial is this. My system does meet and somewhat exceed system requirements...to run the game. But how will it run during a siege? If it becomes unplayable during a siege, which is what I love about the game, then I forked over $50 for nothing.

And no, I don't have the money to upgrade, hardly have the money to buy the game. Not everyone can afford such lavish systems when a new game arrives sadly. Hopefully once I finish school.

I've faced one T3 in combat, a tengu, after my corp entered a WH and hit up a few plex's. Son of a bitch was tanked to hell but like others have said, they're expensive as hell too. Wont see them much. Hell, my Drake is my best friend in pvp

Bad companies go away. All we need to do is let it happen. It's also very easy to sway the opinions of the very same gamers they target to speed that up. No need for the government. My bill of rights is free speech.

If bad companies go away, why is SOE still about? *sobs* Just DIE already!

Why would the government need to regulate when the whole idea of capitalism is competition. Also why would you let an incompetant organization (the government) with no motivation (because they already have your tax money) to regulate private companies.

The government needs to regulate to make sure that one or two companies don't force all the other companies out of business, and then charge whatever they want for their products. It's typically called anti-trust legislation.  What do they teach you kids in school nowadays?  Seriously, how can anyone not know that?

As to the government already having your money.  Liberals don't think of tax money as belonging to the people who paid for it.  They think of it as money that's rightfully theirs, which the government has used it's power to collect from the money grubbing evil wealthy.

The funny thing is, I've never met a wealthy liberal who pays more taxes than they have to.

Would be a valid argument if one or two companies held monopolies on the MMO market....I don't think its worth worrying about yet.

CCP says EvE has 300K+ subscribers, but I never see any more than 44,000 on at the same time so let's start there - 44K.

Now, everyone has at least one alt, so we'll halve that, (22K) and then halve it again since so many people have more than one alt (11K).

Now, since we know most people quit before their trial is up, we'll assume 2/3 of those are trials (3,666).

Furthermore, making ISK is boring and a task only done by illegal RMT farmers. Of course there's a lot of them, so we'll halve that number again (1,833).

I don't know how many employees CCP has, but I'll estimate it at 600. So we knock off about 1800 for CCP employees + their alts + their alt's alts.

And that leaves us with 33 players. Only the regular forum posters play EvE.

right, makes perfect sense because im sure theyre able to fund everything in the already existing game + regular expansions/content + all the advertising they have on the net with just 33 players. of ocurse then again, you must be psychic, after all you know EVERY player has an alt, or actually i guess 2 alts since you halved it twice based on alts. **claps for the special kid** not to mention the fact that you said 44k on at one time.... people arent on 24/7..... you should just put yourself out of your own misery or something, its got to be horribly painful trying to function in life with such a horrid excuse for a brain.

0_o I mean really? You do realize that Eanok is kidding around right?

But w/e it doesn't matter I am only pointing out that 300k subs are not individuals players. And from personal experience I have only seen roughly 40-50k of players online at any given time. /end

Congrats on a no fucking shit thread. Point made.

Anyhow! I've never disliked Eve but for years I always had trouble getting into it, partly because I worked a job that kept me out of town and partly because I never really quite played the game the way it was designed to. I kept wanting trying a  more traditional MMO approach. Does that work? NEGATIVE!!!!

Due to a job change, I've really had time to recently  really get into the game and focus on playing it the way it was designed to be played. I'm in a small wormhole corp. and having a blast. We run sleeper complex's and even use wormholes that open into k-space(Known local space) for random PvP encounters.

The point is that you can't go from the more traditional MMOs then try Eve expecting to play it the same way and enjoy it. It's much more involved for every player than any MMO I've tried. In every other MMO you're playing an already created story, you're just another piece of someone else's story. In Eve you can become the story.

There are no good free sci-fi MMOs.

Hell, I still play MUDs!

I just tried Taikodom its not bad for an action space shooter I guess.

From what I can tell online it looks like they are trying to recreate EVE as an action shooter.

Not my cup of tea right now, though I hope they do well, EVE needs some competition.

I need something I can't find

Thanks all for your suggestions, I look into the others soon

Eve had competition. It WAS called Earth and Beyond.

Hello all,

Been playing on a 14 day account to see if I was going to like it.  Not what I remember from the last time I played a few years ago.  Could also use a mentor on mining.  Would love to get a 21 day account to give someone a free month.  Going to sub either way.

Thank you

Raymond
