The I hate you for not winning Beta Key thread
General Discussion « Tabula Rasa 6/17/07 2:53:29 AM
Lucky me, I won my beta slot way back when Auto Assault had just come out, and from being one of the first 100 subscribers there. *Is happy.*

Why are Runescape players ridiculed by others?
General Discussion « Runescape 6/10/07 8:29:21 PM
It's gonna be more childish for the simple reason that it is more easily accessible for younger players than WoW is. Mom and Dad will be more willing to drop 5$ on a game you don't have to buy than 15$ on a game that also costs 40$ to own. The math there will explain that. If I had children, i'd prefer they play Runescape for a few reasons.
1: Easily Accessible. 2: Simple Gameplay. 3: Free to Cheap Cost. 4: More Players Their Age. 5: Great Game for New MMOers. It's community isn't too horrible. Ignore works wonders. Yeah, you will have the n00b throwers, the flamers, and jack asses. But that's what you get in the entire gaming community, so it's really not an isolated thing. |

Why are Runescape players ridiculed by others?
General Discussion « Runescape 6/10/07 8:16:07 PM
It is the misconception that Runescape is for little kids only. That's like saying i'm too old to play videogames. I enjoyed Runescape when it was only Runescape, before it became Classic. I then played for four more years as a clan leader. I never got to lvl 80, but I had a blast in the clan community. It was fun, exciting, and heated.
Runescape was my first ever MMO, and will perhaps be the one I play for the final time before I die. It's the simplicity of the game, the enormous amount of content, the weekly updates, it's charm. I loved the game, love the game, and will always love the game. It is those of too small a mind who think that now they play WoW or SWG they are too cool or too good for Runescape and it's players, and feel the need to "prove" it with ridicule and hate. I played WoW, I played SWG, I played LOTRO, Auto Assault, Everquest, Anarchy Online, EVE Online, Second Life, Guild Wars, and a bunch of others. Yet for some reason, I keep going back to Runescape. Why? It's where my love for MMO's started. And by far one of the greatest. |

Express your opinion where it belongs, threads about why RS blows. Not where it is good. And you are talking down those who like RS. Your continuous desire to tell them to check out all the bad of RS etc is down talking them. I don't care why YOU think all Mods are retarded. I know for a fact not all are retarded. A few were friends and or members of CH when I led it. And, like I said already, retardation just makes someone a bit harder to communicate with, not less communicative. Now, goodnight. Enjoy watsing your time finding the post I don't need, want, or desire to read.

I listen to heavy metal too. That has no bearing on your constant and annoying chatter. Harsh indeed. I do not take lightly to those who's only desire is to talk everyone down for what they like. Same way I was leading CH. Not all are retarded. And retardation doesn't make one less communicative, just a bit more challenging to speak to.

You need to stop trolling Kaabulk or whatever, Christ. Anyway. RS is indeed a great game. There are many reasons why it is, and many reasons why some may think it isn't. To each his own. Don't go saying, "Oh, not trying to change your opinion, but look at all them bad reasons!!!!!!" That's both childish and contradictory.
It is kinda sad, for one who hates the game so much, you spend an awful lot of time bashing it about, spouting your hate for it, and thrusting your opinions on others about it. And don't say "I only log in an hour or so a day, blah, blah." Doesn't matter. Those times you DO log onto these forums, all you do is hate RS. Wanna hate it, hate it on your own thread. Otherwise, go away. Now, sorry about that rant. RS is a wonderful game. It's fun, loads of content, safe for younger players, good introductory MMO, updated weekly, and the DEVs and MODs are very active and communicative. And also, it's free. Or cheap. |

Sci-Fi Post-Apocalyptic is what I need!

Anarchy Online is mainstrem enough. Auto Assault isn't JUST driving. You select the car, upgrade it, paint it, pimp it, as well as the character. There are classes, races, skills, and all sorts of things. Great fun.

Zvies, that's nice. Doesn't make me any less of a player than your mate, just to inform you.
But that's besides the point. The game is great. Nay sayers be damned |

No, I said I played for 6 years, led a clan for 5. I played for free for about a year before becoming a member. That day I started the clan. It's not "lame", it's how I play. Numbers don't make the player, knowledge of the game does.

I played RS for near 6 years. I started with RS 1, now known as Classic. I loved every minute of it. I spent most of my time on the clan forums, roleplaying, yes, actually roleplaying, and dealing with clan politics. I led a clan that is STILL going, now about 5 years old. Crimson Hunters is it's name.
I'd like to say I disagree. It is a wonderful game. Safe for younger players. Cheap, lot's of content, fun, and updated on a regular basis. Who cares what the graphics look like? If graphics made the game, that's pretty sad. I still play games the likes of Dune 2000, Doom 2, X-Com UFO Defense, Ultima Underwold: Stygian Abyss, and many other older games. Why? Content, story, and just plain fun. Graphics may have been "shoddy" but I was too enthralled by the gameplay to care. That is the case with RS. I was enthralled, can even say addicted. But I enjoyed every minute of it. Many people I met there I STILL talk to today. I don't play it much anymore. Every once in awhile i'll play for about a week or so, before I go somewhere else. But that's not RS' fault. I've been suffering from Gamer's ADD. I can't keep my attention on one game long enough to get deep into it. mostly, that's the fault of the plethora of MMO's i've played that were cookie cutter, grind, and lacking in both content and story. Even WoW bored me, got to level 20 and quit. RS, I got to level 76 in 6 years. Yeah, that's a long time, but that's because I was enjoying other aspects of the game, like the forums and the clan life. I can honestly say RS was one of the best damned games I ever played. And I'd reccomend it to other people just getting into the gaming scene, especially online. I introduced about 10 people to it, and they ALL loved it. I won't take what a few people say about a game that over 200,000 are STILL playing. Something is still being done right, and that's all that matters. ~JKnight1 |
