I wish you would of exposed this information awhile ago before I played it for a couple years and thoroughly enjoyed the game the entire time until I left.

I tried to play it, but when I try and load the game after clicking start game on the launch pad all I get is a white screen. The Nexon logo comes up and then disappears, but after that it is just a plain white screen. I have a really good computer too..so no clue.

I haven't played anything in quite awhile. I am pretty busy, but I am also very uninspired with the current lin-up.

Absolutley! I do not play it anymore, but I honestly believe it is the most solid MMO out there in terms of game enjoyment and variety. I think not trying this game is a mistake!

Got this from a snippet of a post by Chosensken on the CO boards..not sure how accurate it is etc...still researching the game.

Every character has access to every power – your class determines how much it will cost for each ability.

Superpowers are all mapped to the controller’s face buttons (Xbox 360)

Champions Online takes place across an entire world.

You will pick up and don real loot and gear. Each piece you discover fits into one of several body slots. If you don’t like they way the new equipment looks on your costume, turn it off. The visuals for every item can be toggled away.

Missions show up in persistent zones where every once has access them, but much of the content is instanced.

While questing, expect cut scenes with voiced dialogue, changing camera angles, and genuine story components.

Level cap at 50, with extensive end game content.

Costumes have more unique pieces than ever, but now you can alter and select the color and style of each individual power as well.

You won’t be limited to one standard movement animation.

Players will create and customize their secret identity. As the game progresses, you’ll choose whether that identity will remain secret or if you’ll make it public – a decision that will dramatically affect the missions your character will encounter.

As you character grows, you’ll choose his unique weaknesses and disadvantages.

You’ll create you arch-nemesis. Just like your main character, you’ll build him a costume, select his powers, and give him a name. Your arch-nemesis will attempt to foil your plans, again and again.

There’s little penalty when you die – characters respawn at nearby checkpoints.

The game is playable on both Xbox 360 and PC – cross-platform play will be available on day one!

Every character has access to a basic attack – do damage to build up a power bar to unleash more potent assaults.

Yeah I think the game is artistically lacking, but with the line up of games out currently that probably can be overlooked. If the game is as solid gameplay wise as people say. the lackluster graphics will not be an issue.

The people. An MMO relies greatly upon its community to make it more than a mere single playerish game. Unless the communtiy puts forth the effort to create a worthwhile environment, the true MMO experience will never be achieved.

Mine was in the small city right next to Jabba's palace...can't remember the name. It sucked too because there were npcs all around the trainer that would aggro. I dont remember what kind of trainer it was...it has been 4 years now this month since I unlocked Jedi (Feb 2004).

That post just validated every anti NGE post to bump its way around these forums.

I've been following this game since november.

Will it suite you people? Who knows - nothing else does.

you people? who are you referring to exactly? The people who were right?

He has a point, the majority of the SWG vets on here will swarm all over a game at launch then 5 minutes later declare it is not SWG and that the devs are shit and the game is shit for not copying a broken buggy SoE game.

And people like you will swarm all over a crap game and blindly chow down on whatever is served up luke warm perpetuating the lack of innovation and reduction in standards. (I say this with the assumption you are defending the current state of SWG..If you are not disregard this is not directed at you.)

Simply put, what the fanbois, SOE, and their lackeys on the "senate" need to understand is that 200K+ of us are gone.

ROFL are you being serious? If SWG had 200k subs when they put the NGE out there would not have been a NGE don't fool yourself or think you were that important.Did I like swg pre nge? I did actually but I like it post nge as well I have to say the swg community at large have to be the biggest bunch of crybabies I have ever seen.

If it wasn't 200K then it sure did feel like it.

Regardless most people I would think are refering to pre-CU, which undoubtedly had the highest level of subscriptions for this game. You say you're a pre-CU vet so I'm sure you'll rememeber when SOE was proud of their 350K subs right?

Do you think there are 150K subs currently? Cause that would be a difference of 200K.

Yeah a lot of people think PRE-NGE when they think of the whole disgruntled vet issue. This is a huge misunderstanding that prevents many people from understanding most points. Those who played during the Pre CU period of the game are whay I would classify as vets and the time period most are reffering to when they mentiion the glory days of SWG. The Pre CU is where the absolute amazing fun of the game and sand box appeal transcended major imbalance issues and bugs to provide an atmosphere that would set the standard for a lot of people.

I have tried to come back a couple times as well. I have been totally willing (regretfully) to lower my expectaions for the ability to play in the SWG universe again. The combat is what drives me away every time. It feels so clunky and archaic; there are no ui settings or mods that can do enough to improve the akward combat. I am not happy with most aspects of the current game, but I can look past a lot of them...just not the combat.

Hate to disagree but I will, combat is very similar to the CU now and its actully harder than it was in PRE-CU.  In Pre-CU days you got buffed by a Dr. and you where Superman for 3 hr's with the I win button pressed. The game is more challeging now than before maybe thats why your having problems.

Yes the ui is crap but that is why many many of us the UI mod that brings back the the PRE-CU ui for use.

Perhaps you didn't catch the part in my post where I said the combat was clunky and archaic...I never mentioned anything about difficulty. Difficutly is relative anyway, but I appreciate you trying to direct attention away from my point by trying to insinuate I was not skilled enough to handle the new and improved Nunas. I also said there is no ui settings or mods that can do enough to improve the akward combat...I am not sure why you added the last part which is purely a cosmetic fix unrelated to combat. I realize it is hard to discern meaning from a post while on a complete sugar rush from SOE kool-aid, but give it a shot next time before you distort a post in order to insult someone with whom you disagree with.
