Back in the day.. When I started playing MMO's... they were called mmoRPG's back then.

It was all about a virtual world. Playing in a group was just a side effect of the way the worlds were created, not THE reason to play them.

Maybe its because some of the community may be against F2P but are still more objective than the supposed journalist and are actually interested in hearing the other side of the debate.

But when all they get is baiting or personal attacks for having an opinion, those even-tempered community members will likely lose interest in his column and become dismissive of the journalist.

I think this first paragraph Sums up Mr. Aihoshi accuaretly.

Free targeting lets you hit anything and everything in front of you switching from target to target whenever you like... but when you "lock" on you need to take out that target before you move on to the next.

hope that helps

It dosen't matter to me. "Cryptic's Neverwinter" Could end up being the greatest MMO of all time... but they will never see another dime out of me.

Screw me once, shame on you -- CO

Screw me twice, Shame on me --STO

UM....might want to change the title to "5 games I want to know more about"

I think I might come back and try Going Rogue.

NOPE!  they lost me as a customer for life!!

I don't begrudge them the right to make shallow, boring, repetitive, games,

They will just have to do it with out my investment!!

Fool me once shame on you - CO

Fool me twice shame on me - STO

He comes of as someone who is very angry and who has a vested intrest in the F2P market. I wonder who pays him....

Nothing new here...Companies have been chopping up their product for years and selling it piece by piece to gain a higher percentage of profit from their investment.

Personaly I am tired of this type of attack on my wallet. I call it being "nickeled and dimed" And I for one am tired of it and will not support that type of payment plan.

I am not saying it is a bad way to go just one I don't agree with. I'd prefer to pay an inclusive rate, that iincludes the entire game.

Cryptic lost me as a customer for life!!!

Fool me once....shame on you((CO)),

Fool me twice....shame on me((STO))

I am not stupid enough to be fooled by that fast food MMO crapper outer again.....EVER AGAIN!!!!.

I was just in game then Ka-boom...Now I can't acess the offical forums.....Spooky

I don't know about the end of the world, or humanity for that fact, but I do know the Mayan's knew what they were talking about.

The date in question 12/21/12 will find our sun parrellel with the center of our galaxy. Many scientists have stated that the results could be as simple as Solar flares or as massive as a magnetic polar shift that will tear the contenents apart.

Personaly I think our alien masters will return on that date and try and re-enslave hummanity.

A Vic 20 with tape deck. I remeber I had to write the code for every game I played

The time period of the game is important.

Say your playing in a medeival setting, back then all you had to do was look at some one wrong and you could lose your head.

Is it's a savage time in a kill or be killed world?

With that said there is a huge diffrence between, stealth killing some distracted newbie, and walking up to someone and saying "I don't like the way you look" and killing him. If you realy are going to Rpvp I think you need to let your victims know other wise it's just un fun for one side.

Just a guess on my part but I would say...No.

the free 30 day free play that comes with most MMo's are based on new accounts....it would be swsome if they worked the way you suggest...but again I doubt it.

Why would a Funcom product open up a report to NC Soft???

A finished product is one that launches with all the bells and whistles that were promised. The product runs as promised with very few interuptions. An adjustment or two may be needed to deal with unexpected problems, but the game is as advetrised, or complete.

Personaly I can't think of any MMO that has reached the lofty goal of launching Finished.

This however does not mean that the product does not grow. In my opinion that is the essence of what an MMO is, growth. To me at least, the general "I want a finished Product" complaint is based on two things;

          I. games advertising A and B and only delivering B.   II.advertised performance

So delivering a relatively bug free game that runs at the min rec specs,  with everything promised would, in my mind would be a "Finished Game" and again I can't think of a game that can claim this accomplishment.

I have no opinion on AoC, since I don't have a computer that can run it, but most MMO's, in my opinion have "growing pains" and take a month or two to iron out.

Personaly I see no fun in killing someone who has no chance at fighting back, but then I like a challenge.

But it is your money and if you found a way to get enjoyment out of it I say congrats.

Glad to see they are finaly coming around to their senses.

I am so very disappointed
