Mayan didn't say the world ends in 2012
General Discussion « The Secret World 10/22/09 9:25:43 AM
I don't know about the end of the world, or humanity for that fact, but I do know the Mayan's knew what they were talking about. The date in question 12/21/12 will find our sun parrellel with the center of our galaxy. Many scientists have stated that the results could be as simple as Solar flares or as massive as a magnetic polar shift that will tear the contenents apart. Personaly I think our alien masters will return on that date and try and re-enslave hummanity. |

The time period of the game is important. Say your playing in a medeival setting, back then all you had to do was look at some one wrong and you could lose your head. Is it's a savage time in a kill or be killed world? With that said there is a huge diffrence between, stealth killing some distracted newbie, and walking up to someone and saying "I don't like the way you look" and killing him. If you realy are going to Rpvp I think you need to let your victims know other wise it's just un fun for one side. |

Hey gang, I just got a new computer and I would love a buddy key to see how AoC runs on it. Pm me here if you have a spare one. Thanks in advance |

Just a guess on my part but I would say...No. the free 30 day free play that comes with most MMo's are based on new accounts....it would be swsome if they worked the way you suggest...but again I doubt it. |

Why would a Funcom product open up a report to NC Soft??? |

A finished product is one that launches with all the bells and whistles that were promised. The product runs as promised with very few interuptions. An adjustment or two may be needed to deal with unexpected problems, but the game is as advetrised, or complete. Personaly I can't think of any MMO that has reached the lofty goal of launching Finished.
This however does not mean that the product does not grow. In my opinion that is the essence of what an MMO is, growth. To me at least, the general "I want a finished Product" complaint is based on two things; I. games advertising A and B and only delivering B. II.advertised performance
So delivering a relatively bug free game that runs at the min rec specs, with everything promised would, in my mind would be a "Finished Game" and again I can't think of a game that can claim this accomplishment. I have no opinion on AoC, since I don't have a computer that can run it, but most MMO's, in my opinion have "growing pains" and take a month or two to iron out.

Personaly I see no fun in killing someone who has no chance at fighting back, but then I like a challenge. But it is your money and if you found a way to get enjoyment out of it I say congrats.

Couple of questions before I buy
General Discussion « Pirates of the Burning Sea 1/23/08 10:04:34 PM
Hi all, Thinking of purchasing the game but I have a few questions 1. are the Keys mapable? I am left handed and have a real hard time with how most games set up the keys. I always have to re map the keys using, Shift, cntrl and enter, are they mapable? 2. I have heard that avitar combat has a lot to be desired, do you think they will continue to improve upon it? 3. Do the Devs listen? I know it's really early in the games life but do the Devs appear to to be open to player imput?
Thanks in Advance |

Advertising inside a game like the Agency makes sense....but I would of liked to see them do it and then offer a cheaper sub fee.
I won't be knickled and dimed by anyone. I'll pay full price upfront and even a hefty sub fee, but I won't play a game that requires me to pay for every little thing. |

Thank you Conan!! I have been so worried about the state of the game. I really am glad to see the Devs have the balls to post pone the launch until the game is ready.
"It's one thing to create an MMo that grows with time. It's another to release an unfinished product!!" |

Hi, hope I can help a bit 1. You need only a single subscription to play both sides. 2. The great thing about CoX is the journey. Sure some people rush to 50 but once yer there...aint a lot ta do. 3. sorry I can't say for sure but I have heard that the EU servers are fairly populated. 4. CoH is very solo friendly but grouping is where the fun is!
