Fine use of MSPaint for your sig, OP. Also, remember that the publishers PAY LucasArts for the rights to the Star Wars label. They receive upwards of $1,000,000 per month from SOE to keep the game going, not to mention a percentage of each game sold. For them, it's a win-win situation. In reality, Lucas Arts has very little to do with most of the games they have under their name.

All that "analyst" is doing is speculating based on "previous development work". So you have Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate,.......

I like how you try to pass this off as constructive criticism, but since most of your posts on these forums are nothing but SOE/SWG bashing, I think differently.

At first, I thought that this was someone shilling for VC again. My first question to you would probably be, have you ever actually played Voyage Century for any length of time? Every sane person I know who has actually tried the game promptly deleted it. But sure, why pay money for a game with quality designers who have worked on many different MMO projects when you could play a half-assed, broken English version with incredibly poor game play for free?

I'm not going to knock you, OP. I have great sympathy for what everyone went through during/after the hurricane. However, if you did take time out to log back into the game, and I was part of a company like SOE, I wouldn't see any reason to suspend payment. Remember, SOE is not a watchdog, I don't think they would be able to track the situations of 13,000 odd people for this matter. Just be appreciative that they took you into consideration when indeed, they didn't even have to.

Why does it matter what they call it? They expand the game, often adding new zones, quests, items and things like that, and it doesn't cost anything. Also, they're not stupid, if calling it a "Free Expansion" will get them more subscribers, then that's good for them. MMO companies like Turbine are here to make money, not just to entertain. And as for WoW, they're on the road that EQII already took. Rest assured that they're be rolling out expansion after expansion simply because they make a fortune selling them for $30 a pop.

That myth of people dropping out of school because they couldn't stop playing WoW isn't  exactly a myth, per se.

Well it changed a lot since beta, for the better, I think. But you're foolish to come to the MMORPG forums of all places to try to find a fair opinion on a MMO.
