Usually the foul language goes way beyond what the banned players say.

I see ppl curse the whole time in chat, and they still play without any problems, so my guess is that there has been a 'few more' words uttered or maybe whole foul language spam. When ppl go emo because things don't go their way it's usually not limited to just 1-2 words.

OP could be right, but my guess is there's a lot more to it.

According to the PWE website it's Live + I suggest you read the article released very, very recently about open beta being a shill for a soft launch anyway [with most companies]. If they're not planning/saying they won't wipe, it's not a beta.

I go to the official site, it says:  "join the open beta".

So I take their word for it that it is in beta.

Surprising that so many players ar ein an uproar when that game is apparently still in open beta, thus not officially released yet.
Players do not understand the meaning of the word BETA in game development, they play and complain like it is the released game already.

But with CU, there's a lot to do when you have the money to start building on a game, hiring staff, making plans, get a studio, get financers, make ads for the game....ofc the official site with the announcement, there's a ton of things to do.

Indy developers, love em. Think out of the box and mostly not corrupted by the big companies yet.

No, I won't go back to WoW. I'm finished with that game and practically this entire genre. WoW has a lot of problems.. and frankly, even without them I couldn't bring myself to play it, because my marginal utility from doing anything for a ridiculous amount of time is negative to 0.

Some games have tried making babysteps, like Tera, Raiderz, AoC etc., but nothing so far has been executed at the same caliber.

It has been over a decade now for MMORPGers and we're still stuck with tab targeting for the most part; you'll have some games like GW2 boasting a pseudo targeting, i.e. aoe system with a dodge in place mimicking a cooldown in WoW, but it's really just the same beast with a different flavor (and still, not quite as fluid in my worthless opinion).

 

Has anybody found anything with combat comparably "fluid" to WoWs? I am really hankering for something new and nothing recently has really captured my fancy in the combat department.

I will have to see how The Repopulation turns out but I think that will end up having some clunky crap gameplay to.



I rest all hope in finally experiencing a good MMO that has territory control, sandbox and full loot pvp in this game. Embers of Caerus, the graphics look similar to Elder Scrolls Oblivion and that is great graphics for an MMO, I am sure it will look a lot better when it is released. It will be released in 2016, probably late 2016.

This game will defintantly blow crappy Darkcrap Unholy Shit out of the water. I bet many Darkfall players will switch to this game and UW wars will close not long after Embers of Caerus is released. This looks like it will be the most immersive and brutal mmo game with amazing gameplay, bone clashing high adrenaline intense gameplay , sort of like the first person melee combat you see in Age of Chilvary. Such an immersive feel will really bring you into the game unlike Darkfall Unholy Crap.



Any Dark fall player should really check this game out.

Sorry to interject, but the rollback only covered the blatant exploiters. The fact is this bug was first noticed (and patched) in STO months ago, but the unpatched version of the AH was implemented in NWO (CO, STO, and NWO share a lot of code, since they run on different builds of the same engine), so people knew about how to exploit such a bug before NWO went to Open Beta.

All it took was for someone who was aware of the exploit in STO to check if NWO's AH shared the same flaw. There's no way to tell for sure exactly how long or how widespread this bug has been exploited. What happened over the weekend could possibly be just a very loud drop in the bucket compared to what has been hidden away across multiple free accounts for all we know.

who cares: it's an open beta, if ppl are mad because of some bugs in pre-launched game so what, if they pump money in a game not even officially released yet, their fault.

No, solo content was difficult enough at times. I wanted to (role)play some bounty hunter or a random hunter in the game.

And didn't want to have a army behind me to kill a certain mob.

There were ofc those in the game (Krayt dragons), but my experience in all other mmos that came after it (a LOT), you need a group to even take a piss.

"I am a dangerous warrior, let's fight! oh no, I need a healer, tank, dps, preferrably 10 of each and maybe I stand a chance".

Grouping: ok, but it should not be a requirement from start to finish.

WoW did it in the worst possible way.

i love when people make statements with no examples of why they think that way. 

Ok, I'll give you one:

-I am a Star Wars fan, I played SWG from beta till that one faithful day in 2005.

I had different characters, take for example my jedi or bounty hunter, I liked to hunt wild animals in the wild far away from cities for money, for resources etc etc etc. (money + roleplay + having fun being in a sw world). That said, I discovered a cave system, I went inside to explore and found wild animals, had a LOT of fun killing them (although difficult) and looting.

Same with pvp, I had my seeker droids, I buffed, I found a jedi (npc or player) target, and went out there searching for it, players could take hours to actually initiate combat with them. All that while being in a guild, and having fun doing fights and other rp events with them from time to time.

I loved that, transfer that to today's MMOs and what ppl think they should be like:

Log in, go out in the wild, "hey a cave, let's go explore it...BLAM dead. wtf....ok, need group, and there come Jack the tank, Jill the healer, and Corky the dps...."let's kill the monsters inside....DONE! let's fight over the loot!.....ok done, what now? hmm, let's travel a bit further into the wild, Jack has to go, Jill has her BF coming over.....bye group......hey abandoned base, let's go inside, BLAM! Elite npc...I'm dead. ok, let's spam the chat again for a new group...noone responding? ok I'll just sit in a safe city and wait hours on end and do nothing because I can't do jack sh*t in this game without the healer-tank-dps help"

Is some of the above the product of rose-colored glasses? Probably. But when I consider that I've enjoyed WoW less and less after each expansion, I don't think that's fully the case.
 
Disclaimer: WoW was NOT my first MMORPG, or even my second or third.

it's World of Warcraft, but to me more scripted PVE wars with some pvp.

no open world pvp, other then lowlevel ganking, no influence on the world by doing pvp, if you raid a town, the guards respawn in a minute or 2. Players do not have any impact on the gaming world.

The game is too easy with all the portalling around, flying mounts, you are anywhere in the 'world' in 20 seconds. There's no exploration anymore.

Meeting stones meant no more dangerous travels to enemy territories.

I LOVE battlegrounds, especially AV, but the reinforcements made it into rush the boss when 2 towers down minute zergs. Also this BG has not been fixed or nothing been added to it in 10y.

 

I like(d) the engine with the cartoon graphics, but it's really outdated, looking even more bad today, but damn: this game needs a complete graphic overhaul and fixing of old features ppl have been complaining about for years.

Could be, but the OP is shielding himself with 'facts' based on wild guesses I take it, don't know how many players are in that beta right now, if for example 10% bother to post on those votes, it is hardly representative for the whole community, plus usually only the disgruntled players are using such votes to express their frustration.

Kinda depends on what the net profit is each month. If they have a bill of 5M to pay then it's really bad. :)
