Out of curiosity, why are we covering a class that was included at launch in FFXI years ago? It seems strange. |

No one game is ever going to include the feature and gameplay set that every gamer wants. Nor should it. I'll take variety, even my own perfect game would get boring after awhile. |

You might laugh when you get there for one of the following reasons: A) Their mother answers the door while they peer out the window from upstairs. All in all, I've done this 8 times and counting. Never once has the person actually managed to say anything to my face they repeatedly said online for weeks prior... nor have they used the same attitude. One guy was 38 and still living in his mother's basement in Kansas City... which was even better then the 15 year old kid who sent his mother to the door to get rid of me. Don't stand for them to be douchebags, put them on the spot!
Insanity Note: I have had a gun pointed at me when I got there... there was no talking but I'm pretty sure he was scared. Monetary Note: Doing this is VERY expensive... do so as your funds are available and you're sure you'll gain the upper hand overall. What a load of bull... and if it were true you'd end up on "To catch a predator". Guns and condoms... yeah right. |

Taking away the broken English from the greenskins would take away their place in the WAR world. Remember that the developers have brought to MMO-land a world which was already fully formed with it's own history and lore thirty years ago. |

I don't believe it is possible for any game to live up to it's "expectations" anymore. Forums like these spend years prior to launch either hyping or tearing away at a game until any launch will pale by comparison. People are so invested in one side of the argument or the other, that by the time tha game becomes playable many will login for the first time looking for evidence of their previous arguments rather than simply experiencing the game. |

They look better to me, though they are not ground breaking. But I am not playing WAR for it's graphics, so they are good enough for me. |

My comment is always the same on this game or any other. They are all Vaporware until I can drop my hard-earned nickel and form my own opinions on what kind of game they are. |

The problem is the idiots who purchase items, accounts, or services for an online game. And as far as games handling the purchasing of virtual items themselves... I suspect Congress will view that as taxable in some fashion as well. And remember... even Blizzard is just one server crash and screwed up disaster recovery away from losing all of a persons data. I work in the IT industry and I have seen tape restores go bad... it could happen to an online game as well. |

I disagree with that. I would love a game that is good in everything. WoW would not be that bad of a game, if players were allowed to play all the content (choose their own character, perform all the quests, play all the professions). Runescape allows doing all the skills. It falls way short because they gimped the economy and killed PvP (and the graphics suck, but so what). There are no games that are good at everything. I have yet to find one that doesn't completely suck in several things. If I wanted a game that excelled in one thing, I'd play Call of Duty or Halo or whatever the shooter of the month is. Or Pong. What DFO has promised, is a game that players can call home, not just slice off peoples' heads until you get bored with that. If it's a niche game, then good for it. I'm looking for an MMORPG world, like WoW, Vanguard, etc. (even Runescape), except one that allows me to play the content. A game that can hold my attention for years, not months.
But a game you like, and you consider "complete" or maybe "well-rounded" is invariably going to be missing some element-or containing some element that someone else doesn't want. And what is "everything", I am sure your list would be different from mine or probably alot of other peoples. I am just saying that when Developers try to cater to everyone, especially if it takes them beyond their original vision, things tend to get worse and not necesarrily better. |

People probably enjoy level grinds because they are familiar to them. That concept goes all the way back to D&D (if you played with a bunch of people who were more into hack and slash). Either that or they just don't know better. Nowadays I am starting to fantasize about perma-death, sandbox, limited (if any) levels, player created items/world with degredation, etc. Honestly... make a game more and more like real life. |

Even if the game were purely-PvP only and a niche-game... would that really be a bad thing? If every MMO on the market attempts to cater to the gameplay request of every gamer then we are going to end up with a whole lot of convoluted games that are good at everything and excel at nothing. That's how we get the watered down games we have now. |
