the game hasnt even been out for 3 months and you have unsubscribed now you are thinking about resubbing. you funny.

there is no possible way to end a grind. Even if the game started you off max level and stats you would still grind. Through one form or another you will grind. so i dont understand your question.

 I want to start off by saying great question. Honestly though i would have to say no. This being completely my opinion and judging by what we deal with today and the way things were going before WoW came out. MMOs that were coming out were not mainstream and themselves were basically a niche product. Regardless of the crowed they catered to, each MMO release before WoW was innovative and full of imagination. They were produced to be different from the other MMOs of that time in order to show why they are different and how much more it offered then what you were currently playing. We had the same issues we have today just not to the extreme extent of simular material we currently deal with.

Now to the point if an MMO that was not WoW came out would we deal with what we are dealing with today. I would still have to say no. Judging by the way the Niche brand of MMOs were going at the time we would have eventually reached a great MMO product. It might not have hailed the subscription numbers WoW holds but at that time no one gave a damn about numbers. 

WoW may be a successful money making program for blizzard but it has managed to halt the progress of interactive virtual worlds for pre WoW gamers such as myself. Only time will tell when MMO devs find their balls and make a game worthy of being played again. Once they realize that World of Warcraft brought absolutely nothing to the table maybe they will. 

Every now and then we see different games emerge such as Age of Conan, Darkfall, Fallen Earth, and others I'm sure. Some may not be successful and or fun to you but in my eyes I can see games trying to be different and thats the way it should be. I give props to those companies and others for breathing new life into the genre. Keep it innovative.

Hm...I think the destruction of SWG is proof of how far game devs are willing to not care about what you think. Also with most mmo releases as of late i don't think they care much about what anyone else has to say about anything. Just make it look like WoW and lets shovel some pennies. Because they know your going to buy their cookie cutter non-innovative unimaginative pile of crap. I think they have figured out how stupid people are and just exploiting the fuck out of their stupidity.

Wow way to go Funcom. What has it been 2 years since the release of that "New Engine" video and now in that time span you've spent the years trying to find a perfect angle to snap a screen shot. Fuck you game devs. Gargle my balls.

At first, I thought the same thing.  Felt like WoW and seemed similiar but I actually went beyond bias and actually played and tested the game.  Yes, the game is alot like WoW but it's also alot like Everquest or even some simliarities to AC2, which WoW hijacked a ton of features from as well.  But, Alganon also has a ton of it's own stuff and does have it's own personality.  You have to go in and try the game instead of making up your mind before the game is even launched.

If you go in looking for every flaw and every problem, you'll miss the good stuff the game presents.

Having said that, I do agree that this game simply isn't worth the price tag it has with the condition it's in.  There are to many bugs and to little features/content to justify the price they are asking.  If they wish to release way to early they should have considered lowering the price to reflect the product's level of quality.
