I got a disc 7 years ago for the price of month. including 1 month sub.. 

But they have made boxed versions since then that included an ingame shuttle or other item. and possibly more than 30 days sub.

Still its fairly simple to get the game for nothing and only paying for the sub. Its even been possible to get a discount in the sub in the past.. Dunno if that is currently possible.

And seeing as you can even pay for the sub with ingame money... I think it safe to say that EVE doesnt easily fit into any sort of categorization.. I mean that could be marketed as Play to Play and not Pay to Play.

It should infact have a marker at F2P too. Although it that would require a lot of initial work to make possible for the new player.

Recon its often newer players that sell game time to older players to get some starting ingame cash..

It is odd that the retail price is listed at 30 bucks.. twice what it actually is... as far as I can tell from any source I looked at.

I did not get a box, i paid 30 dollars for the game 5 years ago. 15 for the game 15 for 30days. I disagree with the F2P Statement reguardless of how you look at it you either pay a monthly fee or you work in game for the money to buy a plex, Their is no free part of it. It's not like a day 1 newbie can get that sort of ISK quickly working for it.

Just because it's not listed with those other games doesn't make it untrue with eve online. It's a fact that ccp has an item mall for eve online.   Listing it as both sub and item shop  is not an error.

If it upsets you that those other games are not listed as item mall shop and sub inform MMORPG.com that they need to address the issue as I'm sure somebody did in the case of eve online...

We're talking about the Fee column. The one titled "Fee"

None of what you said above is a valid point towards the topic of this thread.

Eve has a purchase price, a subsciption payment, and an item mall.  Any of those could occupy the space under "FEE" all are valid.  They're valid under "fee" or "payment" or any other synonym  used to describe the collection of money for a product or service.

To be fair, It doesn't have a item mall. You don't buy the items with real money. You buy another currancy that can be used to buy these items in the NEX store(Which again are only cosmetic items nothing more).  And they are all VAILD points.

Yes i know they have a tiny Item mall now, But putting item mall under the catagory under Fees is false and wrong, The game isn't supported buy an item mall nor is it a big deal. All the item mall has is for avatars and looks. it is still a $15/month game. If you're putting games under that because of a item mall then why isn't guild wars also under that?

Op, I have been playing EvE for as long as i can remember, My friend talked me into DarkFall(This was before the trial) 

And i thought fine ill give the (crappy game) a try, Cause i like PvP and The death Penalty isn't that bad.

But there's a lot of problems with the game, you said "some quick grinding" All you do in the game is Grind, Grind, Grind, Grind, Grind, Grind,Grind, then when you get in pvp, its the same thing as what you have grinded for 3 months with 1 other aspect, A lot more running involved with the grinding.

You asked are there any safe spots? Well starter towns have guard towers.

What kind of market? The market was none existence when i was playing

From being a EvE player going into this Harsh pvp game i was very disappointed, the 14 day trial will not be enough time to even start your grinding,  

Sorry for the post as in it was way more rambling then helpful but that is what little info i can give as i am tired.

 I still say go Bruiser for the whole look appeal,They are sick, and to make it even better make it a froglok and go evil, My friend had one a froglok bruiser he raped.

Unless a lot has changed since i played last it would prob be Monk if good or Bruiser if evil..

But it comes into, What do you wanna do? Solo or group? I know for a fact bruiser is great DPS reguardless but i think the monk was a little better solo. If you want pure dps(and i think bruiser is still better) Zerker is prob it.

 So its been a while since i play EQ2(Quit right before RoK i think) Thinking about maybe returning, but i am not sure how the pvp servers pop look like now adays i use to play on Nagafen, But i heard they merged the pvp servers is this true? 

If not how do they look now pop wise then? Worth spending $35.00 Buck's coming back even for a month or two?

 Hell yah, If they dont screw it up like they did with war and make it a lot like WoW. lolol

 Good idea, Dont think they will till they anet/ncsoft releases new info on the game.

A guild yeah i am pretty big on guilds and would love to find one as soon as i can. The 50 server sounds cool but at the same time sounds like it takes away from the fun. 

Well i am really thinking of returning(more like stating fresh  and all newbie like) And my factor to return is, How active is the game? Which server would be best for i guess a newer player, Will i survie? My main problem with coming to a old game is if its not active or i can't find people to play with its pointless to play a mmo.

Another question may have to be How bad is the leveling(avrg.) And can i get a screenshot of the UI i havn't seen the UI since like 2003 lol.

Any advice commets etc will be welcome.

What a way to put down the OP and all other MMORPG's. Go play Daoc or Shadowbane if you want some good PvP action with skill needed.

I am with most other people on this ,Have you ever even plalyed daoc and or when it was in its prime?

 Omg i love this idea, i dont know how they will put this in tho lose the ship lose 1 pip? or get podded what if you eject yourself? or kill yourself?
