Yeah, another thing that pisses me off are people who aren't willing to read through a thread to advise someone.  If  I want an eve fan-boy i'd ask for one. (not saying that i'll never end up @ eve, but at things are going now..It's not very likely). I hated the tutorial, it required too much of a learning curve.  I looked at FAQ's on fan-sites as well.

I'm waiting for Tabula Rasa myself., but maybe i'll look at that Grand game.

I'm a teamspeak/ventrilo user as well, i don't have a guild in guild wars anymore since it wasn't beneficial nor fun to me even though i was with friends from other games.  Grouping in GW can also be extremely frustrating, i group'd twice for one mission got nearly to the end and died both times.

I've been thinking about Eve, Space Cowboys, UCO (completely japanese, maybe worth a try)..Auto-Assault maybe.  I've played an old RealTimeStrategy Shattered Galaxy for a long time, but i want something of more value after getting something done it does not feel that great. (SG(as above)) has a unique RTS experiance imo, one that dosen't reseble keeping your base alive or so, management such as that makes me kinda of meticulously exasperated and annoyed

Defining value i want to feel as if i've accomplished something.   When i tried Eve for example (14 day trial) just getting through the tutorial pissed me off badly.   I don't have the time to sit through a 3 hour tutorial, not to mention that my retention isn't great even with a notepad open.

If anything I detest the traditional RPG elements that come to make up MMORPG's.  Don't get me wrong i still own all three guild war's but i don't play them very much.  By traditional elements i mean the class system that seems to reoccur like fastfood throughout the whole MMO industry which in turn makes most games not worth playing for me.   Any suggestions?

I'd like to think personally that WoW has more grinding (not to make a stereotype) of the bias associated with wow, but just to emphasis that GW has a decent story in its PvE content, and the PvE content in wow is crap in my personal opinion.  5 man raids...?  you can have 8 member parties at any mid-line mission in the game.  Then there goes into PvP as they outlined.

Guild Wars is a controversial MMORPG, it admittedly has game qualities that make it play like an MMORPG, but it has some that don't.

You asked about the gameplay.

The leveling system consists of only twenty levels (1-20) with more HP/Energy progressively.
(a casual player can reach the maximum level quickly, the campaigns that reach twenty the fastest are in this order: [Factions/Nightfall/Prophecies]
The leveling system is by no means a grindfest, if you play PvP you start out at level 20 and your options are limited to what you unlock, *but that does not  mean you cannot be effective just buying the game", you can pay a bit of extra money to Ncsoft to unlock PvP skills for example, or unlock them in PvE (storyline).
There are skills that fall under different categories for the attributes that you boost for a given character set for example an Elementalist can be classified as an aeromancer, a pyromancer for an example and warriors can choose to specialize in swordsmanship, hammers, or axe mastery
There are many classes to upgrade and a limitless (almost) combination of classes + sub-class builds to experiment with.
The servers have never been down when i've been on it, if they have an update they just tell you and you can relog when its conveniant to you, but you may be sharded fromt he actual zone of the players who downloaded the patch (as far as i know)

Quite honestly the First Guild wars is 20 to 30 dollars now which is pretty cheap for a one-time fee also given with the fact that you can play it off and on and still play Flyff for example makes it a nice change of pace ( i don't play flyff) but i can elbarate when i get tired of playing other games i can come indulge in the wonderful PvE storylines or the PvP.

With PVP the big thing is still getting in a decent Guild that does what you WANT, otherwise ditch it and find another one, it is "Guild""wars" so Guilds are naturally the biggest part of the game and you should be aware.
I've gotten all 3 since its only a one time fee, it's not a bad fee for the quality game you get and the fact that it has no subscriptions as the others mentioned.

I was talking to a chacha (the new search engine (ChaCha> Google)) guide and we discussed memory, for GW nightfall i need the reccomended 1 GB of memory and we came up with this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820141166

how do i install the RAM, do i take out the 510 and insert the 1GB stick?

I upgraded the video card from a integrated 64 MB so upgrading this CPU is possible.

thanks for your help!

I really want to be able to run guild wars more smoothly.  I made a post in a soft/ware hardware section of another section of a game forum that i visit often.   The trouble i have with Guild Wars is that the load screens usually take quite a long time to load up.  One person told me to get some more ram, which i think is a good idea, but i have no idea how effective it would be at solving the problem.I also downloaded all the img's by attatching the -image" at the end of the destination line or where ever.

I'm aware that compared to many of your computers its a piece of junk (most likely), but this why i wanted to inquire about getting more ram

"Also, more ram may be good. You have a pretty fast processor with only 512.... unsure.gif "

**Just to clarify (edit) I get to 100% on the load screens, but it then proceeds to take a good length of time.  When I solo with Henchi's it is an **Okay** Wait, but with PVP and PvE scenario's i often find m yself the last man standing so to say, I have to run and catch up, and (lagging) then proceeding up to around 60 fps.

I'll be brutally honest, I never thought that I'd see myself posting here.  That being said, i've been playing an RTS game called Shattered Galaxy for a long, long time.  I would sincerily appreciate help finding another game,  perhaps a genre similarto  shattered galaxy which is a scific "massive online" game, but only consists of about 2500 players now,  I wouldn't mind grinding so much as if it meant somthing to me in the long-term scheme, but the current cliche of MMO'RPG's really, really turns me off., especially that of WoW (Which, yes i have played, hated the grinding and ugh~!) , I'd like help finding a decent game.

I'd been looking at some games, but  I was looking at

RFOnline ><

PSU, but they seemed pretty bad when i looked at reviews.

I've tried Eve as well on a trial, but the tutorial was just  (people actually get through this and retain somthing ?!)  after working at the tut for 2 hours or so (trying to retain somthing)

FFXI (very time consuming)? give an idea of my ideal or likely weekends..  I played guild wars, (which is okay, but its lacking) from 9am-4pm and shattered galaxy from 4pm-9:30 pm at some pt

I just want a game where i can feel some sense of accomplishment. and not have to grind for hours and hours and hours with the chance to end up like say

Edit: is GW worth playing (in your opinion)Nightfall, PVP etc, I don't really like the generic sense of pvp nor does the "your a mage, your a warrior" thing really make me uh happy?, but if i could i could be   w/ say a good guild/regiment/clan or so.
