I'll wait out AOA for a while, I'm level 51.6 or so now.  Sieges are okay, but I still feel like it's a "Pay to Win" game.

It seems like reconfiguration is an inadequate "check" to the cash shop, as a means of balance I mean and always will be.    There aren't many players like me in the upper hierarchies of players who've spent less then $50 on the game.

I have some GM contact info now, and I'm trying to upgrade my guide, but beyond that and mentoring new students the game has little for me to do, but wait for the next robot MMO and try to make this one better little by little.

This game is fun in moderate amounts.  I wouldn't recommend spending money on it though,  most anything you need can be gotten in-game from certain players or via personal research.

I agree with a lot of whats been said, I like this game because it has robots--that's pretty simple in my opinion.

Population wise I think it's more of a weekend game and  at  that\, only at certain times.

If invested you mean money, kage, then I've only spent $30 on the game--which isn't a terrible amount for any game you've played for 6 months or so.

I hope it gets better of course, CAOA definitely limits AOAUS tremendously.  I'm still playing it at the moment, but if it doesn't change for some of the reasons ie) Grind/Quests just overall fun factor then I'm going to quit as well Kage.

(But I like to finish what I start so guide..)

When I said that language is a means for people to communicate the intended meaning was that you shouldn't knock people for trying. (Even if you think that they haven't)

What I found/and find superficial is how people don't want to experiment in a beta--If you understand everything before you play a game, why play it?

Another thing that you may or may not have known is the the source-code for AoA is written in Chinese AOA--meaning that it may be very hard to change some parts of the game. (Just a Thought)

Overall, I think AOA deserves about a 5-7, but it's probably the lack of English that keeps it at a low morale.

I'm not mad at you, but let me ask you a few questions.  How many games do you know of that offer a decent Transformers/Mecha experience (MMO)--There aren't many.  This game caters to fans of Transformers/Gundam/Robotech who are willing to give it a chance.

I do agree that the English is poor and I can see why you would uninstall it, but personally I find it to be superficial reasoning in my opinion.

Do you think that everyone in your life will speak english to the same level as you do?  Capable people don't always speak english.

I however, DO, see your overarching point that people who market to a NA/EU market should make sure that their game has a standard level of english.

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience, but i do think people should give it a chance.  Language is a means to communicate.

Not Everyone has the same amount of capitol to create a WoW or a Guild Wars.  I respect snail for bringing AOA to US/NA, but it does have its flaws.

Good luck finding a good game sir.

I have an idea where your coming from now.  However, if caring for a game that is akin to being a Fan Boy, then I do concede to being a fanboy. I'm not 14, I'm 18 and going off to College in the fall

Graphic and Interface wise I can see where your coming from-- a pretty polished game (and i'll be sure to check out the SD gundam capsule game.  To me, Age of Armor represents an untapped genre, therefore I'm trying my hardest to make it a viable option for everyone to play.

My guides on the forums at bbs.aoaus.com are designed to replace the tutorials in-game and explain some of the more vague and complex parts of the game.  I also loan much of my time to helping players learn the game.  I can see what your saying from a new comers perspective, I've been playing Age of Armor for about a year now.  Closed Beta -AoA was an amazing experience.

I do think, as well, that games like Guild Wars or World of Warcraft spoil players with their interface.  Cumulatively, to me it seemed that you hated the interface of AoA--which I found to be acceptable.

Depending when I play I tend to see at least 10 players in the Recruit-bases.  Sundays Siege had 35 players total--That's a good sized fight.  Weekends are pretty populated and Deaht Match has returned to the game.

basically, I've found a game that I've liked and I'm a helpful person who enjoys teaching others!  I'm happy to help most players if the seek me out.  What I would appreciate, as well, is if you could point out what you found as fun and entertaining.

If I could criticize WoW for example; Though I hate Blue Elfs and Trolls, the dwellers of thy World Of Warcraft.  WoW has a developed community of various age groups, a polished interface, frequent updates and an active development team.

However, the fantasy genre perturbs me, it has been capitualized since the 1980's in FF games and in all sorts of various RPG's.  I don't like the grind that begins from the first levels nor enjoy the medieval battle system, I do concede WOW is a good game worth a try for a good solid month.

-Example

If you *want* to please.  AoA seems like its getting a good amount of attention, and I'm working to make the *Big changes* happen as best as I can to make the game practical and fun for those who stay.  Little things come later for me-- I believe the system needs a lot of renovation as it is now.

Renovation that i'm up for.

Waiting for UC online!

I think one of the most common misconceptions about a game like AoA, Age of Armor, is that you can go in the game and learn everything you need to know without doing some research; such as checking the forums at bbs.aoaus.com

Kage, the game has gotten a bit better for me, we got the transformation modules that we "cried for", they're pretty.  I'm honestly looking forward to the gundam game myself, i'll hit level 50 in the next few days.

AoA may not be as polished as other games, but there are a few changes that should be coming up with the Routine-Maintenance like 2x the fragment of part alterations from the Exotic Planet, and EXP boosts on the Monsters in Space war (3x) and Battle Planet (2x).

Quite honestly, I would rather play a small game with maybe 400-500 players (and I did for 4 years), then a huge one with 1000's of players.  Community are the friends that you meet in and outside of the game.  AoA has an okay community, its nothing huge, but it has helpful people.

Quite honestly, the cash shop, I've said a billion times, people aren't meant to have the rank 6 and 7 items.  When you look at the difference between a rank 5 and 6 Chip or Enhancer, the difference is often almost as much as a factor of 5

Particle 5 (1200) Particle 6 (6200)
 (12x5=60)

The Cash Shop prices may cater to the wealthy, but they won't help those who haven't already helped themselves.

When it comes down to it, AoA , at this point is a fun game, it's pretty simple when you learn all the basics--which aren't explained very well admittedly .

Graphics, Game-Boy?  Umm Yeah.  Maybe a GBA, but I think that the graphics actually fit this game pretty well.  It's a "WoW" sort of theme, the creativity and the cartoonishness of the mechs add to the "Wow I want this or that".  I won't deny that they could be better, but do you honestly think that upgrading the graphics is terribly important?

Sure, they're important, but they're not as important as content for example.  Having better graphics doesn't mean much when they cater to those with gaming-rigs.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan-boy and I know a lot of the faults of AoA right now, we're working over time to make it a more friendly game, but it's foolish to give it such a horrible review when you don't check the forums.

This game has some grind as kage said, you can do your daily quests and relax or play something else.  In the long-run it's a game for those who enjoy mech's.  Getting my Wing of Freedom as a reward the other day was probably one of my best MMO feelings to date.

Age of Armor implemented their GM system last week.  Though they aren't 100% adept at the english language they're optimistic people.

The GM system is looking good and a lot of events are coming up.  The question from here on out is whether we can attract more attention.  Transformation and new content will be the main updates--along with some changes in game-play.

Quite honestly, Kage, you didn't manage your resources well.  There were some better management ways to manage all of your acquirement at level 55--without going to exotic planet--the place to which we upgraded parts to save points (he used little to avoid monotonous grinding i assume) Kage you had the points to do more, like using full rank 17-18 AR/ES resist armor, but you never seemed very interested with it.

The content may have not have been enough for you, but how you got to level 55 (want and nova are 54 like a month after kage got to 55) is beyond me.   I think you should come back at least to play casually =/.  i miss talking with ya XD

pretty much excessive 100% grinding sums kage up.   Putting it this way he did the 100% power-grinding on AoA up to level 55 and then quit.

I agree, but specifically you can suggest that it would be the king of PvE Scifi-MMO's since its PvP system is more based on clan wars and PvP really dosen't fit into the RPG feeling of the Bane and all that.  Other than that, it does look fun.

I know the 2nd beta is running on the 15th, but was wondering if anyone was still playing this? (IE: are some servers still open?)

No one is playing the game as of this minute the first closed beta was much earlier, the server won't be up and running until the 15th (for the USA)  There are people playing the Korean/Chinese versions those servers are open, but to most english speaking players the writing/language is gibberish, so its useless to try and register (i think you also need an SSIN or something).

Sorry, tried to help

The client that we're playing on as english players has both Korean/Chinese elements to it as well as a good amount of english (that makes it playable), but parts are still being translated, i think its definitly playable, and you can ask questions on the forums etc if you need extra guidance, its worth a shot ^^!

There are a few gameplay vidoes on youtube, but its one of those games where you have to be specific to figure out (with 3 main races and many different armors (mechs) what you want to excel at.

I like it so far, the combat isn't horrible, and the latency improved as far as i played into it 2-3 days.  The grind is like any other MMORPG, and they're working around it and seeing what they can do about it.

I think that its worth playing if your into the genre, the music seemed good and had some variety of rock-scifi-metal, it flowed nicely.  I really enjoyed playing the game.

It's not known whether it will be f2p or p2p, but it is assumed that they will adapt it to be F2P with a cash-shop, thats what most people who want to play it for some time will tell ya.

I can't tell you how the PVP is like (NDA) and even more since i haven't played it, but it looks to be fun.  The Boss Show at the end of the beta-tests were fun too, even though when i got there i got OMGWTFBBQ'd, it was still fun to see how teamwork will definitly be required to play this game and so on.

Looks to be a fun game, atleast give it a try!

I've liked what i've seen so far (NDA) beta player here, its a fun game and i'm looking forward to see what they do to keep people hooked, how periodic the updates will be and how to break the grind.

It's a fun game as the others have said, but none the less a beta is a game in development, don't have high standards.

The devs that contact the community on the forums seem nice, i asked about a political system and i got a PM a day or so later on their forums by an actual DEV, so i was pleased.

Low-Key games always tend to have a nice community as well, so even if this has a bad rating be sure to try it and get to the End-Game Content, thats my opinion. ^^.

It's coming up ^^. one week to go!
